the base amount of material i make before i hit my rut has increased as i learn new ways to generate stuff...but i still hit some wall or i make so much i cant get it all back together coherently. i get bored of simple things but my more simple songs and one hour trap beat speedruns go over the best. which leads me to believe i either need to crank stuff out faster or work on multiple projects at one time to keep me from fatigue. im not at your level yet where i can do complex things with full intent and control. im still a mess i guess after many years of trying
I still fumble. a ton. but I realize that sometimes it’s just not there. having more tools at your disposal and knowing when it’s time to do some bs because nothing is working is a major thing.
That being said, like you say, when you hit those ruts, simplify and make those hour tracks.
the goal is to make your worst better, not just peak your best.
@@Alckemy i used to never finish anything now i finish everything eventually. i guess my rut is lack of inspiration after spending so long cramming the how to i feel really burnt out. how do you reset your brain between juicing it?
