- Here is another treasure from the archives!
Never before seen video from the NAMM show in Anaheim 1988 at the Valley Arts booth with the owners plus famous musicians like Larry Carlton, Steve Farris (Mr Mister), Steve Lukather (Toto), Abe Laboriel, Jeff Beck, David Williams (Michael Jackson), Scott Henderson and more.
Plus a visit to the Valley Arts music store and factory on Ventura Blvd.
This was the first time I met these artists also and a 19 year old me is seen :D

Special thanks to these amazing companies:
Kemper amps, Palermo Guitars, HP Guitars, Elixir strings, Evertune, True Temperment, Hawk guitar picks, EMG Pickups, Schaller, Revpad, Toontrack, Slate, Eventide, Softube, Fabfilters, Relab Development.
Steve Luke and Steve Farris!!
08:21 ....very close to my Custom Pro...would have loved to see #0313 appear but, as I said, very close but not right there... :-) Anyway, great to see this Footage. Thanks Tommy! It warms my heart. Best greetings from Germany. Michael
Me too, was looking #00729
The guitarist that walks into the scene with Farris and Luke is not "David Williams". That is Jon Myron Clark who was on Micheal Jackson "Bad" tour at the time. A dear friend of mine and an amazing guitar player who passed away in 2021.
Needs narration with some history about the company. Nice blast from the past.... I worked for Aria guitars at this time and was there...!
Big hair, and even bigger talents! Thank you so much for this, Tommy!
Who was the balding guy with beard, glasses and tan jacket?
Back when you could smoke indoors no problem.....
Larry Carlton !
Back when Farris was hotter than hot ... had a crush on him back then
I had a custom pro #248. I wish I still had it.
Steve Farris is my favorite guitar player¡
I love his playing also plus a very nice guy!!
I started working there august 1987 to 1990. I knew all those guys, still know most of em.
Then I'm sure we met back then!
I lived in LA those years and often went to the store, Brent even wanted to hire me as a guitar teacher :)
@@TDenander I was first in the repair dept and a few months later in production. Steve Boulanger who is in the film was a great friend of mine RIP. I was JOhn Englishes boss while he was there. Also RIP.
Amazing Tommy thank you so much for posting this.
Ritenour used them too! Dont know if Mike Landau did!
Landau never did but he used similar by Tyler and often picked more vintage style guitars
Wow
Did you take footage of other booths at this NAMM? Love seeing videos of vintage NAMM.
I just have a bunch of photos from various NAMM shows in the 80's.
I think there is one video somewhere in storage and if I find it I'll upload it for sure :)
another awesome video!!thank you Tommy
Yea, you can definitely tell it's 1988 :-D
😂😂😂
Tackar Tommy, jag sålde VA i Danmark under samma tiden. Och var ochså på NAMM 88.
Kanske där Valley Arts hadde NAMM party i en bowling alley i Hollywood, med Scott H & Tribal Tech.
Thank you for sharing this. My eyes popped out a thousand times. Happy New Year Tommy.
