I first found this song the day a kid in my class died, I then listened to it with a deeper meaning that night and cried a lot to it. I then started thinking about everyone I had seen go to soon, and it just makes me cry every time I listen to it so unfortunately it’s one of those really good songs that I only play once in a while cause it sorta makes you cry and think deeply and kills whatever good vibe you got. I love it so much tho cause I go through the 5 stages while watching/listening, I still can’t really accept most of the loss in my life, but listening to this makes me accept it finally for about 10 minutes after and then it’s just back to denial. Thank you so much for making this song, it sounds so good and it’s really accurate and thought through and touching. I think you should try acting you would be really good at it, but yeah, what makes it sadder is that they actually were dating. Love this song🖤 sorry this is long lol

I do too, but sadly, after their breakup, I don't think that will happen. We were his first stop on his tour in Portland, Oregon September 13, 2019 right after they broke up (but before it was public really) and he was DEVASTATED. I had a m&g with him and you could tell he was reeling from the loss of his first "real" love. I love seeing this video and hearing this song, but when I remember how hurt and sad he was (look up his video "I miss my fookin' Mum" he posted online at the time where he was sad but trying to be funny, which was just a couple hours before the show) and you'll see how heartbroken he was in his eyes and mannerisms. Despite remaining friends for a long time afterwards, I sadly don't think we'll see any more collabs.😭 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Now that I've seen the music video, this song hits dangerously close to home. This song is basically about all the stages of grief a person goes through in their life. As someone who has lost a close loved one, my dad, I understand how it feels to lose the person you once loved so close and dear to your heart. It's been three years but I'm still not over my dad's death so I hope this song will help a bit..

I lost my oldest Brother almost 9 Years ago, I'm 20 now and He'd be 30 I think and I only remember I must've felt some Kind of positive denial as an 11 yr old because I said "At least He doesn't scream around anymore" because I didn't like some of his Behaviour like shouting because He couldn't walk and talk like the Rest of our Family so He needed a Wheelchair from a very young Age. Oh I was kinda ignorant but that's probably normal,
I wasn't very close with Him back then but I think I was about to and over the yrs I didn't deny his death, wasn't angry, didn't bargain but at around 17 I cried sometimes and felt really sad but I didn't have Depression but it was probably the Grief Kind of Depression and I accepted his Death more or less, I don't know, I think I learned Death can make You happy, make You feel motivated and Life can make You feel sad and like You're dying and the Pain or Weight I still feel everytime I think about Him long enough is Love but i realized like Love is Pain, Pain is Love.

Not to be overdramatic, but this video hit me hard as hell... I'm not even a fan of Halsey or YungBlud. In fact, I just stumbled across this video, but my mom was hit by a car on the highway in 2007, and when I tell you, this video was practically a replay of my life.... I spent years blaming myself and feeling guilty, believing that if I had been there, I would have seen the car and I could have saved her... That belief led to a 10 year heroin addiction, torturing myself with the memory of that last day... My God, music can really touch you.

I'm definitely in a much better place than I was 3 years ago. I'm no longer homeless, in and out of jail, or doing desperate shit for money. I'd say the only lasting effects are the anxiety, PTSD, and sleep paralysis, because that last day plays over in my mind over and over like a flickering home movie. But I'm much better than I was during that dark time. I appreciate your offer to listen if I needed to talk. I'm also available if you or anyone else ever needs someone to listen. I've definitely been in that situation where I felt like my life was falling apart, and even though I had like 150 contacts in my phone, there wasn't one person I could call to talk to that would care... If I can be that person for someone else, I'm definitely up for it. We can all save each other, one little bit at a time.

Halsey, when this came out I was homeless, in and out of jail, and unhealthy. Now I have a house, a good job, and a husband. This song and “Clover Cage - The Lone Dancer” are the two songs that helped with my depression. I just want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together. I love you ❤

Having lost my dad in high school, I went through all these emotions, trust in your family and friends and they help. It gets better.
So this is just a theory, but...
They're a young couple greatly in love, and so after she dies in the car crash he keeps dreaming about the day over and over again, and in each dream he's trying different ways to get to her before she died so he could save her. But in each dream, something is getting in the way and making him too late. The 5 stages of grief is each dream he has, until he finally just accepts that she's really gone and in the last dream, he just gives up because he knows he'll be too late.

In the video its a crash but the song means losing someone you loved in general (break up, died etc) You interpreted it pretty well. They wanted the song to represent you go through the stages of grief no matter how you lose someone and by the end you have to accept that there is nothing you can do if its fate.

Yep, the 5 stages of grief....
I think we recycle through those stages, it’s not just a 1-5 thing. Sometimes I’ll go back and forth between anger and depression with a little bargaining/denial in between hoping that one day it might be different. But then reality hits and yep - back to big D. All the while accepting that she’s not a part of my life anymore, hasn’t been for a long time, and likely never again.
One day I hope she’ll forgive me. I think if I hold on, there’s gotta be a moment in the future for another opportunity and if I don’t hold on - I’ll miss it.
I would just go straight to depression, then anger, then it would end there if u get what I’m saying 🔪😵
