Not the only place in the world. 1.Braunig 2. Calavaras 3. Lake Fairfield Fairfield Texas. I fished Fairfield in the 90's it began to snow while we were fishing pretty kewl though. Fairfield is a beautiful lake.
Hey buddy. I'm in san antonio and just got into kayak fishing. I bought a kaku wahoo 12.5 and put a trolling motor on. Would like to get out there with you guys and make some friends
We are usually up and down the Texas coast all the way to Florida. Keep an eye out for our social media and you can meet up at disclosed locations. It's hard to plan trips many times because we get so busy :( .... Best bet is to just show up! lol
Great catches! Only fished there once. Didn’t do too well. They told me you had to have downriggers to get on the reds. Apparently that isn’t true. Congratulations on placing!
We Go Fishing the idea of down rigging is accurate and probably much more convenient. I decided on a slow troll to allow the 5/8 oz lures to drop depth.
I catch lots of reds trolling or casting over the points with shallow cranks and lipless cranks... on the far side of the powerplant outlet (from the park) I've done the best for reds. They usually hit hard just as the bait goes off the drop off of one of the points, youll be bumping bottom on some of those 3-5 ft points and then soon as it comes over the deeper water *wham*
A freshwater tournament you can’t miss! If you have time, look up the Fin Addict Kayak Fishing Tournaments. They are a BLAST!

I’ll have to come visit! Thanks for the correction 🤙
I’ve never eaten redfish. What does it compare to taste and texture wise?
Very good eating. Pretty firm fish that doesn’t flake easy so you can do quite a bit with it. Pretty mild-sweet flavored fish.
When fishing for red fish what type of fishing line are u using and what test pound are u using ?
We have them in the rgv grew up fishing them in irrigation lakes
Evan Rodriguez wow..freshwater redfish in rgv? In a lake?
Must've not known I'm from SA bro. Got a killer spot right there in Calaveras if you ain't know that Dam is where all the monsters hide.
Too Tall So I’ve heard! Tournament didn’t allow to fish two areas, the one you named being one. Thanks for tuning in brotha 🤙

Going there in the morning, exactly where at the dam are these monster reds?
