The limitations of the Hobart not being able to run a wire feeder is why I'm saving for a bobcat 325. Ideally I want the airpak so I don't have to tote an air compressor around but they are big $$.
Very much disagree with your #2 of cons. That Hobart Champion is likely a 10,000 watt generator. You could run your house off of it if needed. The new Bobcat 230 you can run the geneator at peak watts while welding at 10,000 watts. Pretty impressive

Upgrade you machine, get a Miller or Lincoln.
The one i use works perfectly for me now, eventually i definitely want a miller
