Thank you for sharing this video of Enya. I have been a huge fan for quite some time and I enjoy learning as much as I can get a hold of from this very special Lady that has the gift to touch my heart with her angelic spirit and gift. Peace be with you.
Without knowing the history of ten generations ago ... people in famine, nearly naked, came to Gweedore to harvest shellfish and seaweed ... just to keep alive ... both they and their animals lived by God's merciful bounties while governments failed ... whether from corruption or not, people perished across all ages of families and neighbors ... it is a sacred place to meditate and pray for songs and strength to sing in much destitution to keep their spirits shining ... while living with farm animals to share warmth ...
@Martin Doyle yes mate i never call anything by their British name cant give them them the satisfaction, béal feirste, doire agus leitir ceanainn. Tá níos mó ná sin

Another great musical family born in Gaoth Dobhair are Na Casaidigh.
That is her father to her left and hence the interview is likely to have been done at his tavern in Gweedore.
What? That is the great singer Val Doonican who had a show on UK tv.. google Walk Tall, Delaneys Donkey etc. Her father was Leo Brennan
@@edwinhenderson4129 Yes, and that was him sat next to her in the pub, shaking hands with Val.

The description box says it's her childhood hometown.
