And if you can, try a chargeback. A lot of people mentioned canceling won't do much for a long time, since they already got your money. By then, new people will come to replace that loss, or just return to +. But if money starts to drain instantly, they'll see it quicker and do something.

Whether the same story telling effect could have been achieved by a different dialogue is debatable, but that's what the original game used. Changing it now is petty and disrespecting the original work. That's something I would've never thought would happen in this day and age. It's one example of course but it is possible. It's better to try and it doesn't require much.
I'm not refunding because Shift-Up made a great game, I don't want Shift-Up to fail because of this. Some people have taken the approach of cancelling their PS+ subscription instead which is a message directly aimed at SONY and Shift-Up get to keep the sale.
I also agree with Legal Mindset when he talked about this. Once Shift Up signed that contract to Sony. Anything that happened when it comes to censorship and things goes south on Shift Up's end, they'll have to take the blame the most. Even though Sony is at fault, Shift Up has to hold the bag until they do a PC release. I also agree with Legal when it comes to SquareEnix as well when it comes to Rebirth. That game is hurting SE so badly, yet there's nothing they can do until their contract ends. Back to Shift Up, even I know they can't say that yes, Sony made us do it. So, I hope they see this as a learning lesson to not do exclusive deals anymore so this won't happen again.

@@NetBattler it is to a degree. A few years ago they censored a cutscene with one of the characters named Trish that was shown at the end scene of a boss battle in the demo. It had Dante rescued her once the boss was defeated when she fell from it in which he caught her from falling. Her nude butt was showing and that was all. The full release hits with the same exact frame by frame but only this time the censorship was that they used a overblown purple lens flare from the motorcycle that was in the same shot and used that light to cover her butt. There are before and afters still up. The point is, is that it was unnecessary.
It does not matter whether this was the intended release or censored now. Shift Up has a PR problem. No one wants to worry the next patch or a patch five ten or twenty years later will censor their game. The easiest way to end it is to patch the v1.000 outfits back in as additions. If they don't, no one will ever trust Shift Up games or patches on the PS5 and possibly the company as a whole again.

You 100% put the blame on american woke "consultants" - There was already a physical copy of the game with the uncensored outfits. - There was another censorship before the outfits that is directly tied to USA specifically. That is the "Hard R". - The Outfits and USA specific "subliminal" offensive graphic were both online fixes post launch.

In the end. Supporting the game is basically putting money into Sony's pockets. There a reason why the day one patch or information on the changes didn't come out til day before release. Sony wanted to ensure they get the pre-ordered copies money. Which is why people went the refund route. This will more so have Shiftup stick to Mobile and back out of the Second Party deal they have with Sony. I don't know why they signed it to begin with or any Asian developer would. I honestly don't know why they didn't just stick to their own gun and published the game themselves. This is all a tactic for Sony to capitalize on courting South Korean developers on their platform and only their platform. Just like how they trying to lock Chinese developers to their platform.
Sony censors games all the time. They did the same with square Enix and many other companies. Shift Up isn't the first, it's always the publisher. Being principled against Sonys brand of censorship means you have to stop playing playstation full stop. This doesn't just apply to the game. Either everyone does or nobody does. No in between. For me it's just the sheer hypocrisy of Sony censoring Japanese/Asian games in general. Conan Exiles, Cyberpunk & BG3 all have full frontal nudity with no issues at all from anyone on any side, but show some cleavage, side boob or thigh in an Anime style game & Sony suddenly gets all puritan for some reason. These games are made for adults, they are rated by official boards for adults, so stop treating us like fucking kids !
For me the issue here is the double standard on games with same rating and especially with M games which are made for people that are old enough to handle this kind of things without issues. If they want to do a game like Dead or Alive with sexy female characters perfect, if they want to do a game like BG3 where you can see full nude characters or a game like Suicide Squad in full DEI mode perfect, dont censor any of those and let people speak with their wallet. Now with Stellar Blade I bought it and I dont have a PS5, I just wanted to support the game, for me is symbol of what a video game should be and a fresh air from all the DEI they are pushing on every game. I also belive in boycotting Sony, they are pushing too much DEI stuff, censoring way more than ever and are the industry leaders. Boycotting the big fish is also sending a message to the rest of industry thst we dont want censorship, that we want beatiful sexy female characters the same way we continue seeing the Leon Kennedys and Jin Kazamas of gaiming, and a message of what we want to pay for or not. For me the biggest issue is the blood and gore that have been turned down, I have never been a big fan of using beach outfits in action or fighting games but respect all those who enjoy it. Agreed that we shouldn't take out our frustrations out on Shift Up. Sign the #FreeStellarBlade petition and cancel your Sony PSN subscription. We need to play CHESS, not checkers. The problem with people saying they're boycotting Stellar Blade, is that they will then go buy and play games that follow the cultural guidelines approved by the establishment. Developers are watching this Stellar Blade drama play out (backlash from both sides) and they're seeing zero incentive to make a game like SB, only to get smeared by the media apparatus, censored by the machine, and ultimately boycotted by the players. And so developers are going to make sure they instead make games that will get praised by the media like Hades and Baldurs Gate, or innocuous games like Candy Crush that play it safe and don't trigger western sensibilities. At the end of the day, even with the forced censorship, SB is still the most counter culture game today, and journalists want it to fail- no, they NEED it to fail to serve as validation for their credentials. They will then lord it over the gaming community and use it as a cautionary tale that this is what happens when you go against their recommendations
Great vid. You should look up the interview that Yoko Taro had with Shift Up and what he said about working with Sony. Says a lot. Sony has forced last minute censorship before (2 weeks prior to release). The devs for Marha is Dead were pissed and spoke up. They had to delay the physical PS version to remove the scene and alter gameplay for a M-rated horror game and work fast to release digital on time. Was uncensored on Xbox/Steam. Shift Up's problem is making the statement before launch. But even with their previous games, its shown thats its ALWAYS publishers who are to blame. This is usually due to contracts and NDAs. They've worked very hard on this, so i say support the game. Buy physical, deny Sony's digital margin, and enjoy this objectively great game. NG+ on launch with 30+ outfits. Oh and sign the petition and drop your PS plus subscription
It really is crazy how big this conflict has become. There is a reason for the existance of the saying "give them an inch and they'll take a mile." If the game had been advertised with the last minute adjustments already made, people wouldn't be mad. But making last second changes, even if they are small changes, will normally lead to a bigger problem down the road. Some people are saying everyone is being sensitive just because there was a slight bit of censorship. I would say that huge issues stem from the tiniest problems that go unaddressed.
Here I am, with both physical and digital copies of Stellar Blade, waiting for a PS5 pro to play it on LMAO. I will bide my time, and see how Stellar Blade develops over the year, and see if it worth playing patch 1.0, or the latest patch coming in the future! Aside from that, wonderful video as always! I’m not angry, mad or anything about the censorship in this game, just a little dissapointed about it happening in general in videogames, I miss the old days of the PS2 era when wacky and original games came one after the other, wether it was good or bad you still had a blast with it, nowadays all games have that “by the numbers” feeling. Having said this, I’m having a blast with this one despite all the jank I’ve found and some QoL option they could add in the future (pause/skip cutscene, a homeward bone like item)

They don't have to threaten them to not release the game on their platform. Such threat only has merit against a fully third party. Sony is the publisher of this game though. They own publishing right on it so they can do whatever they want. Even if Shift-Up closed their offices and run away, Sony can still take the game and censor it. Besides as the publisher they can sue Shift-Up to death if they refuse to do as ordered.

IF Sony is really Refunding the game, that tells you the truth. they got ESG 💰 Coming their way to cover their loses. Not Shift Up’s fault. When they announced that Sony was going to be publish the game I was worried knowing how Sony is nowadays. And I was right. The changes are so bloody minor why the hell did they change them anymore? Regardless by not buying the game proves that Sony and censorship works and we should voice our concern to Shift Up to see if they can reverse this change. I really hope it comes to the PC. With it being truly the vision the creators wanted before Sony put an axe above their necks.
I also gotta say, I do remember the censorship in Destiny's Child but I completely forgot about the censorship in Nikke. Might be because Nikke was still in beta when they made the censorship changes but adding censorship after showing off footage AND telling everyone that there would be no censorship. While I think it's absolutely imperative that people do think for themselves. I think that's a great message to put a cross, however people want to have a consistent message across the board so that way gaming developers and Publishers can't misconstrue the message. Not that we necessarily have to be in lockstep for consistency and clarity is key.
Obviously, this is Sony's doing no question. If Stellar Blade's director were to reveal that Sony put pressure on them; it'll create a huge mess. Having brought this game, will I refund this game? No. I've brought this game because I like the gameplay style, and the character Eve has potential to be expanded to other media like Bayonetta and 2B. That said, I don't like when companies lie and purposely send false advertisement to consumers. When I get around playing it, I'm playing the game while disconnected from the internet. Hopefully the constructive backlash is large enough that Sony will give us the uncensored option. Given that they're allowing a full refund to people that felt the game was falsely advertised and people unsubscribing from PS+, hopefully it massive enough for Sony to give their consumers what they want.

When it comes to censorship, Sony is the worst, yes, Shift Up should also be held accountable but they're under Sony's thumb right now, I don't think they have a choice. As for the day one patch balance tweaks, gamers have dealt with buggy, broken games for years, I think we can manage without it.

The real sad part is Stellar Blade is actually a great beautiful game with an amazing soundtrack. However these companies couldn’t have faith in their own product and talent workers. They had to lie to boost sales numbers instead of let their game speak for itself.

I'd urge to still buy it as if it becomes popular as suggested (regardless of the few censored things) it will send a positive message to the industry saying this it the kind of game we want. The easiest workaround is to take your console offline and have the game copy to the PS5 Hard drive while its offline. Then you can play the game without the censorship patch. If at any point you connect thrbPS5 to the network and it detects the game in disc drive, then the game won't play until you install the patch.
Keeping my preorder, after nearly 12 years of solid ps+ I have canceled my main and my backup, changing my about player profile text to #free stellar blade. I feel this will keep numbers high for stellar blade while also signaling to sony that they've pissed of one of their biggest 'whale purchasers'.
One thing people don't talk much is about is that we don't know how much they're bound contractually. They've hinted at disagreements with the Sony staff before (which also implies that even the version that's straight from the disc might be censored), but there ain't no way they can straight up say it's Sony's fault, those kind of partnerships *always* have NDAs. And yeah, Shift Up have indeed had their games censored before. Destiny Child was made in 2016, before these companies were trying to censor games directly from the source and Nikke, even though it can get away with a lot more now, also had character from its initial roster censored and they still are. If you keep up with a couple of these mobile games you probably know the main reason these games get censored is down to a set of guidelines from Google Playstore and Apple store for their Age Rating that are very loosely and selectively enforced. The reason Nikke can get away with more now is basically because they are one of the most successful gacha games. I've seen a lot of smaller games get censored for a lot less than the top ones get away with than have a lot more risqué content later on their life cycle. As a counter point they could just raise their age rating, but I don't think it would help in the long run since the goal post keeps moving for these companies.

To my understanding there are two versions of stellar blade. Physical copy is uncensored until you connected to the Internet and it downloads the censorship patch and the digital version is straight up censored by sony. What I don't understand is that the game is rated M for mature for adults so why is the game being censored?

What's important to keep in mind is that only 2 costumes were "unfinished" on disk, and subsequently censored when patched, but where there's smoke there's fire. These certainly weren't the only outfits that had to be revised for censorship, the Peony dress added tights later on, the bondage outfit that was patched didn't use to have any lace in the midriff/chest at all, and Cybernetic Dress later added mesh on the sides and chest. Going by the icons for the outfits it also appears there's added fabric on the bikini, Ocean Queen, and others. My question is whether these changes are merely prudish or if it was to combat "objectification" given the (male) audience Eve was targeted towards.
As far as I am aware it is 4 outfits. the purple bikini with laces that aren't properly attached , the bunny suit whhich looks like she is wearing stuff under the bodysuit, the fetisch one which is the most ridicolouse in my opinion and the "ocean maid bathsuit one which looks badly covered on the side. Usually you can see on the icons what they censored.
I believe, every generation has their time. 50 to 70s had a lot of change then from the 80s to the 90s their was a lot of cultural change. Our time is done. I'm going back and collecting movies, games, and any other types of entertainment that has the stuff we want and can't have. I grew up in the 90s and think the 80s and 90s had better stuff than nowadays.
Playing the uncensored 1.0 version which unfortunately leaves me out of NG+ which is fine by me i have alot of other games to play to hold out and see if any changes are made. The Tomb Raider remasters recently got their censorship removed so maybe there's hope for this game.

The real reason is because Shift Up is making alot of money by being great company listening to their fan base unlike other companies. Sony took note of that when seeing the amount of pre-orders and made those changes to piss off Shift Up Consumers/Fan Base. Not only that but also Sony being influenced by gaming articles such as IGN which those gaming news reporters are believed to be influenced by other gaming companies via interests. They didnt censor the nudity in Cyberpunk so why now?
It's not the first time that Shift UP does this, the same thing happens with NIKKE, some data leaker discover censored designs for at the time up coming NIKKES. @@NetBattler it is to a degree. A few years ago they censored a cutscene with one of the characters named Trish that was shown at the end scene of a boss battle in the demo. It had Dante rescued her once the boss was defeated when she fell from it in which he caught her from falling. Her nude butt was showing and that was all. The full release hits with the same exact frame by frame but only this time the censorship was that they used a overblown purple lens flare from the motorcycle that was in the same shot and used that light to cover her butt. There are before and afters still up. The point is, is that it was unnecessary.

It does not matter whether this was the intended release or censored now. Shift Up has a PR problem. No one wants to worry the next patch or a patch five ten or twenty years later will censor their game. The easiest way to end it is to patch the v1.000 outfits back in as additions. If they don't, no one will ever trust Shift Up games or patches on the PS5 and possibly the company as a whole again.

In the end. Supporting the game is basically putting money into Sony's pockets. There a reason why the day one patch or information on the changes didn't come out til day before release.
Sony wanted to ensure they get the pre-ordered copies money. Which is why people went the refund route.
This will more so have Shiftup stick to Mobile and back out of the Second Party deal they have with Sony. I don't know why they signed it to begin with or any Asian developer would.

For me it's just the sheer hypocrisy of Sony censoring Japanese/Asian games in general. Conan Exiles, Cyberpunk & BG3 all have full frontal nudity with no issues at all from anyone on any side, but show some cleavage, side boob or thigh in an Anime style game & Sony suddenly gets all puritan for some reason. These games are made for adults, they are rated by official boards for adults, so stop treating us like fucking kids !
For me the issue here is the double standard on games with same rating and especially with M games which are made for people that are old enough to handle this kind of things without issues. If they want to do a game like Dead or Alive with sexy female characters perfect, if they want to do a game like BG3 where you can see full nude characters or a game like Suicide Squad in full DEI mode perfect, dont censor any of those and let people speak with their wallet. Now with Stellar Blade I bought it and I dont have a PS5, I just wanted to support the game, for me is symbol of what a video game should be and a fresh air from all the DEI they are pushing on every game. I also belive in boycotting Sony, they are pushing too much DEI stuff, censoring way more than ever and are the industry leaders. Boycotting the big fish is also sending a message to the rest of industry thst we dont want censorship, that we want beatiful sexy female characters the same way we continue seeing the Leon Kennedys and Jin Kazamas of gaiming, and a message of what we want to pay for or not.
For me the biggest issue is the blood and gore that have been turned down, I have never been a big fan of using beach outfits in action or fighting games but respect all those who enjoy it. Still I have to wait for a PC release and hope for modders to fix any censorship.

Agreed that we shouldn't take out our frustrations out on Shift Up. Sign the #FreeStellarBlade petition and cancel your Sony PSN subscription. We need to play CHESS, not checkers. The problem with people saying they're boycotting Stellar Blade, is that they will then go buy and play games that follow the cultural guidelines approved by the establishment. Developers are watching this Stellar Blade drama play out (backlash from both sides) and they're seeing zero incentive to make a game like SB, only to get smeared by the media apparatus, censored by the machine, and ultimately boycotted by the players. And so developers are going to make sure they instead make games that will get praised by the media like Hades and Baldurs Gate, or innocuous games like Candy Crush that play it safe and don't trigger western sensibilities. At the end of the day, even with the forced censorship, SB is still the most counter culture game today, and journalists want it to fail- no, they NEED it to fail to serve as validation for their credentials. They will then lord it over the gaming community and use it as a cautionary tale that this is what happens when you go against their recommendations
Great vid. You should look up the interview that Yoko Taro had with Shift Up and what he said about working with Sony. Says a lot. Sony has forced last minute censorship before (2 weeks prior to release). The devs for Marha is Dead were pissed and spoke up. They had to delay the physical PS version to remove the scene and alter gameplay for a M-rated horror game and work fast to release digital on time. Was uncensored on Xbox/Steam. Shift up can't really say anything because Sony is publishing.

Shift Up's problem is making the statement before launch. But even with their previous games, its shown thats its ALWAYS publishers who are to blame. This is usually due to contracts and NDAs. They've worked very hard on this, so i say support the game. Buy physical, deny Sony's digital margin, and enjoy this objectively great game. NG+ on launch with 30+ outfits. Oh and sign the petition and drop your PS plus subscription
It really is crazy how big this conflict has become. There is a reason for the existance of the saying "give them an inch and they'll take a mile."
If the game had been advertised with the last minute adjustments already made, people wouldn't be mad. But making last second changes, even if they are small changes, will normally lead to a bigger problem down the road.
Some people are saying everyone is being sensitive just because there was a slight bit of censorship. I would say that huge issues stem from the tiniest problems that go unaddressed.
Here I am, with both physical and digital copies of Stellar Blade, waiting for a PS5 pro to play it on LMAO. I will bide my time, and see how Stellar Blade develops over the year, and see if it worth playing patch 1.0, or the latest patch coming in the future!

I’m not angry, mad or anything about the censorship in this game, just a little dissapointed about it happening in general in videogames, I miss the old days of the PS2 era when wacky and original games came one after the other, wether it was good or bad you still had a blast with it, nowadays all games have that “by the numbers” feeling.
Having said this, I’m having a blast with this one despite all the jank I’ve found and some QoL option they could add in the future (pause/skip cutscene, a homeward bone like item)

Here's the difference: your criticism comes from a place of love, because you love video games. Also, I'm willing to bet Sony threatened them with banning Stellar Blade from the PS5. Sounds like something they would do.
They don't have to threaten them to not release the game on their platform. Such threat only has merit against a fully third party.
Sony is the publisher of this game though. They own publishing right on it so they can do whatever they want.
Even if Shift-Up closed their offices and run away, Sony can still take the game and censor it.
Besides as the publisher they can sue Shift-Up to death if they refuse to do as ordered.

i DONT LIKE CENSORSHIP. But when shift up said the game will be uncensored, I believe they were talking about violence cause they specially said including the Japanese version which violence is normally censored there. I still didn't age well .I will buy the game and patch it because there are more outfits. Tales of Arise charging for outfits sucks, this game is generous.

IF Sony is really Refunding the game, that tells you the truth. they got ESG 💰 Coming their way to cover their loses. Otherwise they'd never do that and Cyberpunk being pulled from the Stores tells us that, we already know how far they go to Avoid refunds. In the end People should still buy the game IF that's the case and its clearly done on purpose, Then Shift Up is as much a victim in this.

Not Shift Up’s fault. When they announced that Sony was going to be publish the game I was worried knowing how Sony is nowadays.

I also gotta say, I do remember the censorship in Destiny's Child but I completely forgot about the censorship in Nikke. Might be because Nikke was still in beta when they made the censorship changes but adding censorship after showing off footage AND telling everyone that there would be no censorship. I just hope that Sony will realize that NOT censoring games will please the vast majority of people who are actually lining their pockets. I signed that petition the moment it started.

While I think it's absolutely imperative that people do think for themselves. I think that's a great message to put a cross, however people want to have a consistent message across the board so that way gaming developers and Publishers can't misconstrue the message. Not that we necessarily have to be in lockstep for consistency and clarity is key.
Obviously, this is Sony's doing no question. If Stellar Blade's director were to reveal that Sony put pressure on them; it'll create a huge mess. Hopefully the backlash is large enough to get Sony to give up that censorship option. What does Sony have to lose if they provide up with that option?
Having brought this game, will I refund this game? No. I've brought this game because I like the gameplay style, and the character Eve has potential to be expanded to other media like Bayonetta and 2B. That said, I don't like when companies lie and purposely send false advertisement to consumers. When I get around playing it, I'm playing the game while disconnected from the internet.
Hopefully the constructive backlash is large enough that Sony will give us the uncensored option. Given that they're allowing a full refund to people that felt the game was falsely advertised and people unsubscribing from PS+, hopefully it massive enough for Sony to give their consumers what they want.

I cancelled my PS subscription, but boycotting Stellar Blade over censorship risks reinforcing negative perceptions by critics and hence is a win for these "professional" journalists, potentially fueling further censorship and discouraging developers from creating similar content. While it might have a similar effect as with Devil May Cry, it's uncertain and unlikely to hurt Sony financially too much. Therefore, I support Shift Up since I'm having a blast with Stellar Blade and want developers to continue making games they envision
Put an option in the game that allows censorship to be turned off like Bayonetta!

When it comes to censorship, Sony is the worst, yes, Shift Up should also be held accountable but they're under Sony's thumb right now, I don't think they have a choice. As for the day one patch balance tweaks, gamers have dealt with buggy, broken games for years, I think we can manage without it.
Imagine if GTA 5 came out during current day. So much of the content in that game would be on the cutting room floor due to some nutjob throwing a hissy fit over sensitivity in an M rated game.
I signed the petition and I’m keeping both my digital and physical copy of the game. I cancel my PS+ subscription and even if the censorship is removed I won’t be giving Sony nor Shift Up my money again. The real sad part is Stellar Blade is actually a great beautiful game with an amazing soundtrack. However these companies couldn’t have faith in their own product and talent workers. They had to lie to boost sales numbers instead of let their game speak for itself.
i like the game, but the only thing i hate is that the game update wasnot on separate thumbnail, instead its happened during 12GB mark to 19gb, then again 27-30GB mark, its like theyre forcing you to update
This is good. I see we both got played by that one person that "canceled" their PS+ membership (which would expire in 2030); the latter pic is legit though. I like that you looked at all avenues of this controversy, and how to properly address it. The biggest problem is the lie Sony/ShiftUp made about the launch.
I’m playing the original censor-free version. It took me a couple of tries.
I bought the physical version, so i just won't update it and play it uncensored. I'd urge to still buy it as if it becomes popular as suggested (regardless of the few censored things) it will send a positive message to the industry saying this it the kind of game we want. I'm hopeful they will reverse it. This game needs a win for things to change, if not this game then what?.

If you cancel your purchase the only message you're giving is that you do not want games like this
The easiest workaround is to take your console offline and have the game copy to the PS5 Hard drive while its offline. Then you can play the game without the censorship patch. If at any point you connect thrbPS5 to the network and it detects the game in disc drive, then the game won't play until you install the patch.
Keeping my preorder, after nearly 12 years of solid ps+ I have canceled my main and my backup, changing my about player profile text to #free stellar blade.
I feel this will keep numbers high for stellar blade while also signaling to sony that they've pissed of one of their biggest 'whale purchasers'.
One thing people don't talk much is about is that we don't know how much they're bound contractually. They've hinted at disagreements with the Sony staff before (which also implies that even the version that's straight from the disc might be censored), but there ain't no way they can straight up say it's Sony's fault, those kind of partnerships *always* have NDAs.
And yeah, Shift Up have indeed had their games censored before. Destiny Child was made in 2016, before these companies were trying to censor games directly from the source and Nikke, even though it can get away with a lot more now, also had character from its initial roster censored and they still are.
If you keep up with a couple of these mobile games you probably know the main reason these games get censored is down to a set of guidelines from Google Playstore and Apple store for their Age Rating that are very loosely and selectively enforced. The reason Nikke can get away with more now is basically because they are one of the most successful gacha games. I've seen a lot of smaller games get censored for a lot less than the top ones get away with than have a lot more risqué content later on their life cycle.
As a counter point they could just raise their age rating, but I don't think it would help in the long run since the goal post keeps moving for these companies.
How big of a loser you have to be, combing through a 30+ hour game. And the only thing you find, "offensive" is misplaced graffiti?!

To my understanding there are two versions of stellar blade. Physical copy is uncensored until you connected to the Internet and it downloads the censorship patch and the digital version is straight up censored by sony.
What I don't understand is that the game is rated M for mature for adults so why is the game being censored?

I don't own a ps5 so i cant play right now but if i did, i would still buy the game even with my distain for the censorship since i know i will like it, it is a good game at the end of the day and that's what makes this so insidious its ike some 4d chess the whole industry is doing. they tack censorship on as a ride along and basically say. put up or shut up. now Stellar Blade in my eyes is the next evolution since before alot of games that were wokefied and censored most of them are skippable, average games you arent missing much. Censoring pissing me off, because I remember times when we had whole bureau just for this, here in Poland, before Solidarnosc with Lech Walesa won our freedom - this is ugly, stupid and simple abuse of power
What's important to keep in mind is that only 2 costumes were "unfinished" on disk, and subsequently censored when patched, but where there's smoke there's fire. These certainly weren't the only outfits that had to be revised for censorship, the Peony dress added tights later on, the bondage outfit that was patched didn't use to have any lace in the midriff/chest at all, and Cybernetic Dress later added mesh on the sides and chest. Going by the icons for the outfits it also appears there's added fabric on the bikini, Ocean Queen, and others.
My question is whether these changes are merely prudish or if it was to combat "objectification" given the (male) audience Eve was targeted towards.
As far as I am aware it is 4 outfits. the purple bikini with laces that aren't properly attached , the bunny suit whhich looks like she is wearing stuff under the bodysuit, the fetisch one which is the most ridicolouse in my opinion and the "ocean maid bathsuit one which looks badly covered on the side.

I believe, every generation has their time. 50 to 70s had a lot of change then from the 80s to the 90s their was a lot of cultural change. Our time is done. I'm going back and collecting movies, games, and any other types of entertainment that has the stuff we want and can't have. I grew up in the 90s and think the 80s and 90s had better stuff than nowadays.
Playing the uncensored 1.0 version which unfortunately leaves me out of NG+ which is fine by me i have alot of other games to play to hold out and see if any changes are made. The Tomb Raider remasters recently got their censorship removed so maybe there's hope for this game.
Never give an inch or they'll take everything from you. And history has shown us what they've ben doing for more than a decade. Including the hypocrisy.
The real reason is because Shift Up is making alot of money by being great company listening to their fan base unlike other companies. Sony took note of that when seeing the amount of pre-orders and made those changes to piss off Shift Up Consumers/Fan Base. Not only that but also Sony being influenced by gaming articles such as IGN which those gaming news reporters are believed to be influenced by other gaming companies via interests. They didnt censor the nudity in Cyberpunk so why now?
It's not the first time that Shift UP does this, the same thing happens with NIKKE, some data leaker discover censored designs for at the time up coming NIKKES. Bu I wouln't be sure if this is something that they do or something that SONY or TENCET makes the company do, I think they even use the same excuse of saying that is was planned to always be like this.
That’s usually for the Chinese version. But they also have those censored versions whenever they have a live stream for the U.S. though it’s not always consistent.
