What REALLY scares me about Caleb Williams is something NFL Stock Exchange brought up. His average Time to throw is ~ 3.5 seconds. That’s far and away the highest recorded by a good margin. He holds on too the ball WAY too long. And it’s showing as a detriment this season. His numbers against pressure last season were unrepeatable. He’s dropped to one of the WORST under pressure this season.

This right here. This needs to be talked about more. The way he extends plays and turns them into something great in college, will wind up being a major issue in the pro’s, ESPECIALLY if he drafted to a bad team with a bad line, which is awfully likely. The kid is extremely talented and has been that dude his entire life. Well the NFL is filled with dudes.

His last game against Notre Dame was his only true bad game he's had at USC. As for why USC hasn't made the playoffs, you can blame their piss-poor defense that was almost ranked dead-last last year and is currently still iffy now. He has the skill and talent, the issue is will the team that drafts him be able to maximize his potential. We've seen plenty of dudes have the elite talent in college, but in the NFL, it's either it doesn't translate to the next level or the coach is trying to change the player into something he's not, which then casuals will wrongfully call them a "bust" when it's the coaches fault for not using the player's strengths

They said the same things about Kylar he’s been disappointing to say the least, it’s not all on the player, Lincoln Riley runs a spread offense that’s designed to score a lot of points and they just don’t run that in the NFL and so these type QBs have a hard time if at all adjusting to pro style offenses, like Murray and Baker, both Heisman winners under Riley and you just can’t rely solely on talent of the physical nature, Brady had none of that and was drafted late, yet he’s got more SBs than any other great in history , why? Mental horsepower! His ability to process and fast, that’s what these other before mentioned struggle with, and I think Caleb will be no different, but we shall see cause someone will draft him for sure , probably #1 overall

I think it’s totally reasonable for any player to want to have stock in their own team but I also understand the hesitancy from the owners since it could add many new issues the nfl would have to deal with. I also understand Caleb wanting to go to a team to win a championship but I think that comes down to scheme more than team. He can’t expect a team who is in title contentions to take him because it’s likely they already have a franchise qb because they made it that far. I think he would get a lot less heat if he was saying that he wants to go to a team who will build their scheme around him since he is such a unique player.

That’s not reasonable at all. It’s actually complete nonsense to be a player and own part of a team. It’s a perfect example of what the term “conflict of interest” means.
If your QB owns part of the team is a coach or another player EVER going to say he’s wrong about anything? Better yet, does he get to decide on roster construction and who the coaches are? Does he have financial say in who gets a contract or doesn’t for that matter? Can he cut players? And how do you trade someone who owns part of the team? And imagine if he is on another team playing AGAINST a team he owns. What if they meet in the playoffs or Super Bowl? How does the salary cap work when he has an ownership stake in the franchise? Is he a member of the ownership groups or is he a part of the NFLPA?
Not only in a business sense is it impossible, it’s just asking to ruin the any team he’s on internally.

I'm not overly concerned by any of this tbh. He's a relatively easy person to dislike but when you actually listen to the kid talk he sounds like a normal, humble kid. I don't care about fingernails, I don't care about whatever his faux Lavar Ball dad says the kid a legitimate elite prospect and has a damn good chance to lead whatever team drafts him into the future if they choose to build around him. The NFL and football in general is nauseatingly so old-fashioned so I'm not surprised by the outrage towards him but I have high yet realistic hopes for him.

Caleb is trying to shoot for the moon and that won't happen. Kind of reminds me like Maurice Clarett that tried to go to the NFL draft after his freshman year and got crushed in court and by the time that legal mess was over, Ohio State already moved on from him and Maurice Clarett never panned out especially in the NFL. There's a reason why the owners wanted rookie contracts because of people like Caleb after seeing Sam Bradford wanting all money before he played a down. You got to go out and prove yourself in the NFL before you get that big contract or go into free agency. Caleb Williams may be a top draft pick but you also need to get talent around you to succeed and produce hopefully your second year. Look what happened to Trevor Lawrence once he got Doug Peterson as coach, he flourished. Caleb is going to be picked by a bad team and he's going to have to create passing yards like you see in Mahomes. That's the closest comparison you can go with since Mahomes is wonderful scrambling and buying time to find a receiver. The thing is you need your recievers to be on the same page as you are or you are going to be sacked a whole bunch. Speaking of Mahomes, his college career he had a losing record at Texas Tech going 13-19 and his best season he went 7-5 because of the horrible defense. Yet when Mahomes got his chance with the players around him, he took them to the AFC championship his second year and Super Bowl his third year.

Caleb williams will be the biggest bust in draft history. Save this quote for me please. Im tired of people going crazy over talent and ability when nobody knows what this means. Weve seen the best quarterbacks not have any of the abilities GM,s go crazy for. Justin Fields is faster, stronger, and Bigger than Tom Brady but Tom is still the greatest of all time while Fields is a failure at quarterback. To this day people still say Michael Vick is the most talented quarterback of all time while not winning a god damn thing. Fans make excuses for these quarterbacks. Bad wide receivers and bad coaches didnt stop Brady but Quarterbacks like Fields, Newton, Zack Wilson, and the other infinite number of quarterbacks need elite teams and coaches to succeed. The best quality for a quarterback isnt 40 time or arm strength. Weve already seen these fail hundreds of time. The quality you need is poise and intangibles. Caleb will be a failure and it wont be his coaches fault. He wont be a good quarterback.
