Hiii Krista❤ i am new to stucker making. I would like to know , when printing out my stickers using my silhouette portrait 4. First how do i receive them onto my silhouette. I have files in my email but i don't know what to do with the files to turn them into sticker's 🙈🙈🙈
Hi! I talk more about how I prepare the file and everything in my "How I make sticker sheets" video, so you can check that one out, but I plan to make another video where I go mote in depth about die-cut stickers as well. 👍
Hello. Awesome video! I have a huge problem and was wondering if you could help? The cut will sometimes be 0.5 to 1mm off to the right or to the left randomly, and sometimes it’s perfectly centered. It’s no glossy. The calibration is perfectly centered and the lenght of the line too. I have the 5.02 for Portrait 3. Is that the latest firmware update? I tried finding the information on websites but couldn’t find anything.
Hi! Latest software version is not always the best one (especially if it worked for you before). I would suggest to download an older version, which you can do in their website under "legacy versions". Otherwise you can try all the usual things - check the blade, try a different cutting mat, try to put the machine on the floor for stability etc. 👍
Hi, the original mat of portrait 4 leaves adhesive residue when I cut on cardstocks. Is nicapa better? Also, when I do diecut stickers, the bottom part of the stickers'cut are misaligned. Do you know a fix for this? Thank you so much and I love these kind of videos ❤
Unfortunately, Nicapa mats also sometimes leave some residue on cardstock (not so much on vinyl sticker paper) - I think to fully avoid this you need the electrostatic mat, that I might get in the future & if I do - I'll definitely do a tutorial for that. 👍 And for the bottom part misalignment - I actually had some issues when I used the original mat, but it almost completely went away when I switched to the Nicapa mats - I don't know why, maybe because they are more sturdy. Calibration could also help a lot, if you haven't done it yet. But, I think in general, for these entry level machines, you need to give some extra "room" - add bleed that you don't cut around the stickers just in case it decides to act up. Hope some of this helps. 😅💛
Why not to adjust the metrics to only do 1 pass , this is what I love about my cricut no need of so many numbers 😅, I’m trying to learn silhouette and it’s hard
I actually tried first with bigger blade force and depth, but for some reason this worked better (that is, it always cut everything fully on the first try, the bigger force didn't), so I just stuck with it. 👍
hey krista, do you find that the 8inch nicapa mat works well for portrait 4? as the default mat is 8.5/9 inch but it's so hard to find the replacement!
Hi! In my opinion Nicapa mat works better than the original one, that came with Portrait 4. 😅 It's more sturdy. Plus, you can still cut letter sized paper on them as well! You just need to choose "Portrait 3" in the machine list & the "Portrait" option in the cutting mat drop-down and adjust the pinch rollers a bit, so it's easier to feed them in. 👍
@@tatyanadeniz woah - thank you so much!💛 I love helping other small business owners, so I'm glad it will reach even more people who might need this info 👍
I'm thinking about creating a more in-depth Silhouette Portrait review, now that I have used it for almost 6 months, so I could include it there. 👍 Are there any particular materials/products/processes you would like me to cover?
@@vive_art Ok, I will think about how to better do it, maybe I will just make a separate video as I have for my sticker sheets (if you are interested in those, I talk a lot more about settings in that video 👍)

How do you get the sticker to take up so much space? In other videos they remove a lot of blank space...😓
I adjust the inset of the registration marks in the page settings. I talk about this in my "How I make sticker sheets" video 👍

Wow I never thought you could make holographic stickers at home. Thanks for sharing the process. These are very cute!
Yes, plus, you don't even need any machine, just the laminate sheets. 😊
Also, your stickers are gorgeous 😊
Thank you so much! 🌷

@@kristadraws thank youuu this sounds great. going to cart out some nicapa mats! I use A4 papers here but I'm sure they'll work fine
Yes I use both A4 & letter papers and Nicapa is great for both! 👍
This is fantastic! Exactly what I needed to learn. Thank you!!
Glad I could help! 💛
@@kristadraws Yesss! I even emailed your video to my whole email list as a resource. It's THAT good!!!!! Love your work. 🥰

Can you make a video talking about the sticker cutting machine settings?

Oh, can you talk about making small stickers and how to enter the settings for the machine to cut them?

@@kristadraws Oh yes, please, I would be very grateful if you did this 😊✨
