  • The Wilbert Way is the presentation of the Burial Vault, suspended over the grave using cables, with the lid pushed back on rails in full display. This style of presentation is well known as the most respectful, and proper way to display a Vault for a Committal Service. At Kelley Vault Company every Burial Vault and grave container is displayed in this manner. This presentation also allows the Vault Man to seal the Burial Vault in full view above ground to ensure the lid is aligned correctly for the highest possible seal.

This is for the people who are wanting to nit pick this vault mans setups. If you yourself have never done the job do not add in your two cents. If you aren’t in the burial vault and or funeral business don’t speak about things you have no clue about. If you think you can do better go right ahead and apply at your local Wilbert or CVI and see what actually goes into the job. This Vault man has great set ups and does things to standard.

And please stop making it sound like it’s so hard to do it’s literally the easiest thing to do at Wilbert besides answering the phone, the real hard work is done in the warehouse where the vaults are made, Trust me, we drivers have it easy compared to them,

@ssj5pikachu229 it must not be the real world in Houston. In 30 + years I've never seen any vault guy do anything as much as this guy does. Absolutely doesn't happen in cemeteries with 5 to 15 funerals a day. Just saying.

I spent 40 years in funeral service. First working in a cemetery then a funeral home. While going to mortuary school I worked for Wilbert Vaolt Co. Only sold Wilbert vaults my entire life.

That was extremely interesting and educational ,, I didn't know anything about what you were doing, so thank you for such an excellent explanation. It all makes sense now on how everything works when a casket is brought to a cemetery for burial. It's amazing how it all goes together and how it's taken apart afterwards.

This is very intresting I've been helping in the burials at a small local cemetery for about a year, i already have stories that would not be appropriate to tell, so i dont but will say i do the best i can within my limited power to make it presentable just because i care

I've been watching your videos it's very helpful and reassuring to see the mechanics of how my funeral will play out. I do wish you were based in New England since I will be buried in Maine, I can only hope the Wilbert Vault company service up there is as professional as you are. I am in my 50's and 2 years into an incurable cancer. I live in California but Maine is home. So I have secured a plot, paid for the headstone and pre-paid for a custom coffin made by the Trappist Monks in Iowa. I've selected the Wilbert Copper Triune Vault with the Wilbert Way set up. My question is, because I have a traditional six-sided coffin vice a casket, does that impact the way the device is set up? Appreciate any feedback or insight you could provide. Thank you!

The Wilbert way is cool but at my local cemetery they simply lower the lower part of the vault in ground using a boom, they leave the top on that machine. Then they set up the casket lowering straps over the vault and then they use the boom to put the lid on after the casket is lowered. Seems much more efficient than the Wilbert way

Water will get into a casket eventually no matter what vault you have a funeral home will.say it doesn't. only get you to purchase a higher end casket /vault .only to make you feel better. No burial vault or casket is leak proof. I worked for a company in Buffalo, NY, and we put many vaults and caskets in the ground in the fall, winter, the site's sometimes we're flooded, and we had to try to drain the hole in the ground b4 we could put the vault in or else it would float or fill with water, the casket would get water inside as well. So if a funeral home is going to tell you, oh, it won't leak. Ask em are you going to check on my family's site when they are 6ft under ground....

Nothing is ever left in the vault, most of the time to corner supports fall, so I drop the paper with then and get both sets of corner supports and both sets of corner papers out of the vault
