Hey mama. I love the little intimate seating area. My hard working friend. That was a lot of work! Is there anything you can put on the fence, or spray the ivy with to control it?
Hey girl, thanks so much. I know I should spray them but I feel bad. My neighbors are elderly and very sweet. 😊 hopefully we can work it out in the fall.
Wow! What an amazing transformation!! I love those chairs and the way they fold up. The fence cover is not bad at all. Great idea for a temporary fix. That was a big job. Well done.
Hello there, thank you! It definitely was a lot of work but well worth it. Are you working on any projects? If you like outdoor videos I have an exclusive channel. ua-cam.com/video/Oqe96oR4-eQ/v-deo.html
Good morning Daphne!!! All this hard work has paid off, your yard and seating area looks wonderful!! I think its nice to have different areas to enjoy!!! This def looks inviting! Thank you for sharing this with us!
I hope you're able to get the ivy under control. No hiding spot but I do have a Forest in my backyard! I love the fact that you have multiple sections for entertaining or relaxing. The much looks nice. I brown tarp turned out nice on the fence I am sure the wrinkles will disappear. Great video have a blessed weekend.
I used rubber mulch and although it was pretty I found out it ended up floating into the yard when it rained. Too hard to keep in place. Love you space. Thanks for sharing
Hello there, I’ve heard that too. Hopefully the edge I dug out works. I will definitely keep everyone posted. Thanks so much for your support. It means so much to me! 😊
Hi! Catching up after our vacation. 😀Your backyard looks beautiful! I really love the adirondack chairs you chose, so comfy looking. That's smart to cover up the fence for now.
I can understand the fencing expense. I have to purchase a lot of stuff to work in backyard since he took it but it will get done a little at a time. You did a great job getting the ivy down. I love those chairs. I have the plastic kind right now for my fire pit area but my goal is to change them out to the wooden ones. I have never heard of rubber mulch. I love it. Yes I am going to use that for my fire pit makeover. TFS
I had the same thing on one side of my property. After 15 years of Maintenace, I learned early to start at the top of the fence. Put the blade under the vines and cut strait up then trim the top down to the top of the fence post. Then you have to grab vines and pull them out. The best time to clean is in late fall or winter so you don't have all the leaves. Take a pair of small hand sheers and cut straight across the top of the fence post. You will be able to see what vines pull.
Hello there, such great advice and I definitely appreciate the tips. I love to hear how others handle clearing ivy. I truly appreciate you taking the time to watch and give me advice. 😊
I can't work on projects like that anymore unfortunately. I'm older with a lot of physical restraints. I like watching the younger generation work on home projects.
Wooow that’s a lot of work Daph! You did a great job with those vines. Your seating areas are everything. 🤍 love the Costco lawn chairs, they are super cute.
Very nice job. Although the Ivy was a tad overgrown, it gave the space an outdoorsy look but, I like the tarp better. It gave it a much cleaner look. Looks great. :)
Hello there Carmen, thanks so much. I think that is one of the reasons why I would let it go for so long. Lol! I’m so glad I finally tackled it. I’m so happy you like it. 😊
The rubber mulch looks great Daphne! We usually use black wood mulch. I have been thinking about gravel. It's so cool to have different seating areas. Great job!
Honestly I would have love this same execution but with the ivy wall left intact. Then added lighting and it would have been a beautiful outdoor experience especially for night dining. However it still is very nice. The mulch made it! Like adding outdoor carpet. It made the area, its own established place. I wish I could have got some of those ivy clippings 😂
Hello Michael, after looking back and having some time away from the ivy I may let it grow back in this year. 😂🤣 thanks so much for your input. 😊I’m definitely thinking how I can add some solar spot lights.
Hey Daphne, I'm amazed at the transformation. You did a great job and your space look so cute. Those pull out chairs are beautiful. I do not have a hide out sitting area yet but after seeing yours, I'm considering having one 😀. Now I know how to put mulch, thank you.
Hola. U put a HUGE dent into getting rid of the ivy. The chairs look so cozy. Great choice on the mulch. I hope there will be a, not so expensive, fence solution. They can definitely be pricey. Especially when installed professionally. TFS loving those makeover videos. Nice pillows
Hello there, thanks so much for watching. Unfortunately our organic waste isn’t picked up from our home this time of year so the plastic is easier to transport to the organic yard. Have a wonderful weekend
Look at you with the chainsaw! What a huge job this is. Chain link fences are problems, for sure. We’ve experienced the frustration in a couple of the jokes we’ve owned. Sounds like putting up a new fence when you can will be the best solution. My favorite hiding spot is my hammock area. It almost feels like being up in the canyon with all of the trees around it. I’ve never heard of rubber mulch. You’ll have to tell us what you think after you’ve had it down for awhile. It looks nice on camera. Enjoyed the video!
Hey Rozanne, sorry I forgot to mention it, I was using a hedger.,I can’t wait until we can change the fence. I love your hammock too! Thanks for watching!
Getting covers for the chairs when not in use will keep chairs clean and prevent them from being discolored; not to mention your clothes. A clear shower curtain and jute from Dollar Tree would save money. Just burn a few holes round the edges of the shower curtain to string the twine through and it will work perfectly. Getting acquainted with a new property can be overwhelming sometimes. I hope you don't mind helpful suggestion.
I didn’t think to use shower curtains. That is awesome! Suggestions are always welcomed. It helps me and everyone else too because we are tackling these projects together! What projects are you working on now?
I’ve never used rubber mulch but it looks fabulous!! We bought black wood mulch for the flower bed in our first house and it faded so bad! Your backyard is tiring into the best oasis!!!
Hey Donna, I’ve heard that about the black wood mulch too that’s why I always purchased brown. I hope this rubber mulch is better. Thanks for watching.
Hello there Denita, half way of me removing the vines I definitely wanted to get some but I felt bad since my elderly neighbors love them. Hopefully we can have them removed in the fall. 🤞🏾thanks for watching

Hey girl, this one was a struggle. Lol! Thanks so much!
I love your backyard seating spots. Great idea.
Hello there Evelyn, thanks so much. Ever since I refreshed the Adirondack chairs I find myself sitting there in the early mornings. It is lovely. 😊
