Hey Gene! You are the man! What an ambassador for the woodcarving community! I'm glad that I have had the opportunity of being your friend for many many years! Thank you for all you do!
Greetings from an icy Atlanta Ga. Enjoyed your talk, Gene and look forward to the series. To me one of the most satisfying outcomes from caricature carving is it makes me smile and other people smile. Sometimes that's enough for me if it brings joy to others. And the process is a joy in itself. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I absolutely love the "Let's Talk Carving!" group! It's a great resource for someone to learn from, INCLUDING ME!! Really appreciate you brother, your encouragement, & leadership in our community. Thanks for all that you do!
Thank you Johnny ..Your a future lead teacher in the carving world with your videos ..They are gaining the respect of carvers everywhere ..Thank you for taking the risk of doing them ..God Bless
Thank you for this. I’ve been carving for nearly two years and have made about eighty pieces, and when it’s warm and not raining, hardly ever happens, I whittle outside but mostly in my room. I don’t have a band saw, I have a really nice short saw that does a really good job of cutting away sections I don’t so that I can start whittling straight away, almost. I got a g clamp to hold the small one inch by four basswood blocks while I saw. It amazes me how many different characters and little comfort birds I can make. People really like them and I just give them away to see the smile on their faces. It’s fun to paint as well, thanks again and I like your Texas Baseball cap. Ron, from north of the UK
Ron you describe the very person that carving is all about ..The guy who loves the art and carves for fun ..relaxation and a giving spirit ..You love to create when you can and give away your pieces ..No matter how you get the wood removed ,,Bandsaw ..saw ..whatever ..if it gets the job done then great ..Thank you so much for the picture of what a true carver is today and have fun and thank you for watching
i havent carved a lot of things, but i always am thankful that it was your video that taught me how to carve a little bear, i made sixteen of them, two for each of my eight grandchildren. Your videos are such a blessing to me, to watch and learn , to get ideas. Thank you for sharing them.
Thank you so much for your kind words and the talent was already there ..it just had to be released in you ..I wish you more time to carve and rich blessing in your life
I enjoy all your videos and learn from all of them. I’m hooked on whittling. It’s relaxing and gratifying to me I just love it. Thank you for sharing all your videos. And God bless you
Good chat Gene. I'm part of many communities because I have so many different hobbies and there is something special with the carving ones. People are really great in here. I don't usually interact a lot with it but the Let's Talk Carving group you have on Facebook is really great.
Its a joy to have you part of it ..I believe sometimes people just need to ask questions without feeling they cant get the info from others around them ..so to have a place to feel comfortable in asking them it what I have always wanted ..Thank you so much for watching and God Bless
I’ve watched a lot of your videos, Gene, and have enjoyed and loved them all! I especially enjoy your talks. Take care my friend and keep on, keeping on!

Ok gene happy new year stay well. Just submitted my request to your face book page. Hope ya accept me. ... walt in nj

As always, I love your videos. You are so informative and I have used your advice so many times. I had cataract surgery three years ago which was not good. I wound up having four surgeries on my eye and still have problem seeing. I have thRee stitches in my cornea and still need the other eye done. That being said, I haven't been able to do much carving, but I am getting back into it. I will be going back to your videos again. Thank you for advises you have given me.
Iam so sorry your having issues with your eyes ..Just take it easy and the fact you love to carve is enough and someday will get back to it ..I wish New Year Blessing's on You And Your Family and pray God will bring healing to your eyes ..Thank you so much for watching and God Bless
Thank you Jordy ..I hope Iam spelling that right ..You have a great channel and some great work ..your teaching and helping and thats all that matters ...You have some great work you do and I hope the cold isnt beating you up too bad ..But I wish you a good New Year and a blessing on your channel ..Thank you so much for all you do to train carvers
