Ive been a long time fan of QL. Trust me, no one can ever replace Scott and Dean. These are the original leapers. They wrote the book on leaping, and they have the charisma that compiments one another.
I love the new Leap Effect. The starburst in the middle of the figure gave the effect some... oomph (in lieu of a better word) and yet it stays recognizable.

In Smallville's final episode Lois was aboard Air Force One and was trying to get to the President to warn him of the dangerous plan to eliminate the Apokolips. She rushed into the room where the SecDef was and the other guy came in from behind her to stop her. Seeing that scene reminded me of the scene where Sam rushed into the room to warn Princess Diana.
I think if a Quantum Leap movie were to be made, it should be his daughter leaping. I've thought that for years, then Tron comes out and basically had the same premise I had in mind for a QL movie. Despite the weird plot (Princess Di? Really? Not 9/11? Or the earthquake in Haiti?) I did like this. Well done. Princess Di was and still is a beloved woman and her death was sad, but it doesn't seem like the proper event for a show that hasn't been on the air in nearly 20 years to return.
This movie starts out with Sam and Al thinking that he's there to save Diana Spencer's life and it turns out to be something that's reminiscent of the first one-hour episode of the series which was written by Co-Producer-at-the-time, Deborah Pratt.
It's a fan-film, so there wasn't a hope they could afford Scott Bakula or Dean Stockwell. However it will be premiered at the Leap Back 2009, which both Scott and Dean will be in attendance.

@28incubus So you didn't watch "Titanic" (it sank), or movies about WW2 (the Germans lost), "United 93" (it crashed), "World Trade Center" (it fell down), "Enola Gay" (it dropped a big bomb), "Braveheart" (he was hanged drawn and quartered), "Bobby" (he was assassinated)
I think quantum leap works better when the leap is all about ordinary people, not historic figures or world changing events. A little of that in the background is nice, but not the whole premise. Also, a movie should have several leaps, and some unexplored quirk such as leaping into the future, or leaping into the quantum leap project staff...
I loved the original series; funny, entertaining and moving. This is so crass. Anybody associated with this movie does not have any respect for the original series. Pure nasty.

i saw this fan made movie. it is truly awesome and recaptures the original spirit of quantum leap. i give 5 pointed figures.
