Imagine how sick this narcissistic egomaniacal horse world is when you can pack your grounds full at a Helgstrand Stallion show and not a single person in the mindless, psycofantic crowd says a single world when a horse is visibly abused right before your eyes.

Well...it looks like the time is coming that the people who continue with this type of barbaric training methods are going to be kicked out of the equestrian world once and for all. We need to keep sharing that this is simply not acceptable any longer, for the sake of all the horses that are to follow.
About time..and the whole new riding should be without any bits what so ever...many have trained themselves to go the extra hard work and to learn balance..while riding..not to rely on their hands holding onto reins to keep their balance ...just use a bit less bridel...or better yet no bridal...this is the ultimate between horse and rider..all body language....
@@chrisunderwood2524 The bit is not the problem. It gives the rider the possibility of a very fine, exact communication with the horse and for the horse it is something to lean on for reassurance. But it must be used in exactly that way - as a line of communication, never an instrument of force.
The thing is, rollkur is easy, it's easy to hold your horse in that position, and for many horses it's also easy to work in this position. Because it is not working through its body, which is why it gets these flashy uncontrolled movements. When you have true collection, it takes a lot of work from the rider, as you have to give and take constantly, to always be a support for the horse, vs this, where you just tuck the horse in and then ride... It's okay for a momentary stretch, but you should never work the horse this way. As someone who exercises, I will put my arms behind my back to stretch out a muscle, but I would never try to work out in that position. It's easy to spot a horse trained this way, rather than the right way. Because collection is offered by the horse, while this is demanded by the rider. So after the free walk, when they pick up on the reins, horses who are used to be trained in rollkur, will immediately tuck their chin in, while a correctly trained horse, will walk into the collection.
All of these horses are severely overheat, it's a wonder they can balance themselves let alone see where they are going, the positions of the riders are of pure dominance ,if you have to sit in that position to get collection of your horse you're doing something very wrong
So sad such abject cruelty has to have been metered out to these beautiful, noble creatures in order to obtain a totally unnatural position, which judges then award as being 'good'. Poor horses, no wonder they die young. Their riders, owners should have the same treatment metered out to them.

I'd like to think that this is not common practice. What this says to me is these riders don't have real ability. This gives dressage a bad reputation I'm very shocked and sad to say. It's supposed to be about partnership and cooperation. Not about gadgets, artificial aids or bullying.
I'd prefer to see videos from these rides than pictures tbh, then you can better see if this is actually intentional. Not defending anybody but still. Some of these pictures didn't look like intent in all honesty. As it was visible on the hands and the reins being rather loose. So it's conflicting.. but this behaviour is banned so no one should need to worry anymore, atleast that's positive.
Rollkur is not banned. Rollkur achieved by aggressive force is banned BUT that is at the discretion of the judges. As for these "Loose hands and reins", I literally watched the video 3 times trying to find a loose rein. All I saw was a slightly less than tight curb rein in one of the pictures. All others were a straight rein which in no way, shape or form is a loose rein. Mind telling me where these "Loose Rein" photos are?
@@coollikegrass2489 I'm from Europe here it is banned, a swedish guy did it, he got removed from competition grounds. Loose reins were referred to Andreas Helgstrand and a Lot of this reins the horse do have space to move head better position btw, and some not, but the zoomed out ones show that there is space. To me again pictures is conflicting as of it can be a movement in that second that's captured and can look bad, which I know for a fact people do, to ruin other people's rep. Which is what the loose was referred too, and I did say hands not reins necessarily. I am not saying rollkur never happens, I'm just saying here you'll get removed and get on probation. Nor did I write this comment to start a debate about right or wrong. But this again are pictures, I don't trust that, I've seen people do this for one movement, where it could look like rollkur then snap it and pass it on as it. So that was more or less the point I was trying to make.
i agree, a foto is an 1 second thing, i looked a lot of video's of all of them. i don't really see it back. an foto can be made on the ''wrong'' moment, that it looks like all the time. everyone says edward gal is torturing the hors but when i look back at the video's of him and toto, toto looks happy to perform with his ears forward. i also know a lot of people who are friends with him, and they all said that edward loved toto, he was his best friend. so sometime riders dont intend to do it :(
This is horrible. These poor horses. I would like to tie every one of these rider's chins to their chest and see how they like it. Why isn't anyone doing anything? Greed and money. Win at all costs. Look what it is costing these horses.
Rollkur has now been thoroughly discredited, and the top prizes in Dressage are now given to horses going softly and freely. That's a victory for horsemanship and decency. Could I just balance things out a little by pointing out that this video is all still photographs, not film footage. There's a reason for that. These are single moments in a ride. Yes, they're bad, but they're not the whole story. For the overwhelming majority of those riders, it's quite unjust to post those pictures as typical of what they do, because if you go and look at actual video footage of them schooling or competing their horses, there's no rollkur in evidence.
Omg! The things people do to obtain fame money at the expense of one of God's most gracious creatures!!! Get you darn hands outta his mouth and take the bits out to ouch ouch he can't move like that!!!!

So this would be collecting and having the horse on the bit. Having the horse on the bit and having them collected is them slightly curving their head down and stretching through their neck. This makes them lift their back slightly and not be hollow. The method you see in the video is rollkur. Rollkur is not natural and is not a normal practice. Rollkur forces the horse to have their head tucked in so much that their chin is touching their chest. Properly having the horse on the bit is more loose in their neck and their movements are fluid. In rollkur, the horses movements aren’t fully fluid and can be stiff. In audition, without the rollkur method, you have to constantly give and take with your horses reins. Your horse should hold themselves up slightly, with light aids from the rider. Rollkur is pure force from the rider, which puts pain on the horses mouth. So nope, rollkur is not the standard method of training.
