Apple 说的 “认为对的英文” 让我听了很不爽。 We know Singlish is not a proper english- it is just a part of our culture. We singaporeans never ever think Singlish is a "proper english". We can differentiate what is england's english and what is singlish- we know how to code switch. Does she really think we are that dumb to "insist singlish is a proper english?" taiwanese always only pronounced just a single word and emphasis so much on their US accent. They cant write or talk full sentence.and become proud i wonder why?lol. The way they learnt english is from a 'system' called KK英標 which originates from usa. I'm not exactly sure if that was why u felt there was a us accent but maybe u can go read it up. regardless, some of them 通告藝人 like eg paul or 謝忻 in this episode studied overseas while some others are just pure illiterate in english

Taiwanese should stop criticising Singapore english unless they can up their game in that department. 1. 我們政府組屋附贈的防空壕也是一樣拿來當儲存室😅
2. 我們單生狗35歲就可以單獨買政府組屋，放心，政府沒有這麼狠心。新婚夫婦申請新建組屋後，不幸分手，房子跟定金被沒收，只指還在興建的房子，多數人當然是選擇買新屋，較少新婚夫婦去買二手屋
3. 服務生這麼勤快收拾桌子是取決於地方，你看看有些小販中心因為人手問題那些餐具疊疊樂的

A lot of Singaporeans can code switch effectively between English and Singlish depending on person, place and occasion. We dont speak Singlish all the time.. perhaps only in a more relaxed setting with our closer friends

我是新加坡人。我覺得非常諷刺的是，當我們被批評「堅持說新加坡式英文」的時候，其實很多的這些「不標準」都是來自國語（普通話）、甚至福建話、潮州話等等。這些都是我們的祖先下南洋來到新加坡後，所自然產生出的一種溝通方式。的確摻雜了很多奇怪的詞，不過對另一個新加坡人來說，倍感親切。
而且，即使我們一直用新加坡式英文，大多數的新加坡人其實都能夠講流利、標準的英文。畢竟，我們的第一語文是英文，所有科目都是用英文授課，再怎樣也差不了哪裡去吧。也就是為什麼我更加自豪，因為我們能夠在適當的場合使用不一樣的英文。遇到新加坡人，除非是非常隆重的場合，否則也無需字正腔圓，大可用新加坡式英文。我目前在英國留學，許多英國同學都對我的英文程度表示驚奇，他們根本不曉得原來新加坡人的英文也那麼好的。

忍不住要吐槽一点台湾人说 ( 你们很奇怪捏 )，严重破坏了马来西亚和新加坡的说话水平，那些 lah ， anot ， meh ， that one ， walao ， eh 之类的，都是两国之间的 rojak 文化，马来西亚人和新加坡人说的英语很容易分辨出来，至少我们能听得懂和了解，但是呢，台湾，中国，香港的英语更加容易分别出来，那些说不清的英语也是种文化，对吧，我的台湾朋友说我们的英语有多奇怪，说他有说得多好，结果一开口，我差点没喷出我年少喝过的酸奶，最后是，每个国家都有不同的文化，你心里感到奇怪就好，别说出来，你觉得他们奇怪，他们更觉得你们怪胎 !

Usually we just use "why you see me no up"... 其实singlish很特别，很有我们自己的特色~ 再说如够我们遇到老外，大多数的人会自动切换到比较标准的英文哦~ 但是我也会教一些外国朋友几句我们的Singlish... 哈哈哈哈! 这样才好玩啊!
有时我看台湾综艺也很不解为什么他们很爱取笑我们的英文~ 很多艺人的英文腔调明明都超奇怪或根本英文很差. 如果在路上随便抓一名新加坡人和台湾人来比英文，99%我们会赢... (Ps. 我没恶意哦! 我非常非常喜欢台湾也很爱和台湾朋友聊天~ 通常几乎都是在看台湾的频道)
當然,新加坡教學的課本或者地名都是英文，台灣則是中文為主，可能高中、大學的台灣人會贏新加坡，但是新加坡很重視英文，所以新加坡人當然英文水準更好，可能台灣人中文更好吧！

新加坡和马来西亚的英语和华语受到汉语方言的语法的影响很深，有很多福建闽南话和广东话的借词。
单身不是不能拥有房子，而是不能预购组屋制度 (Build To Order)或二手政府组屋除非到了35岁。如果要买公寓或私人房产都没问题。但是如果拥有了公寓或私人房产，买政府组屋就没有津贴。

其实年轻一代的新加坡人说的singlish不再像那位男生所给的例子一样。比如说第二句“why you see me no up one?" 新加坡人很少都会说出这样的句子。而且，我也想说的是新加坡式英语并不是我们所“坚持是对的”， 我们也知道它并不是最标准的英语。新加坡式英语之所以仍会在我们的社会里存在的原因来自于它是我们所“习惯的”。自幼，我们都是在大家的耳濡目染之下，学会如何用更简单方便的语言形式于他人沟通（以其他语言来表达该语言无法表达的词或感情，比如“我昨天很累，一回到家就 "toh" 了”，而toh 的意思是取自于福建话“倒”，来形容一个人累垮了。） 尤其是当我们想跟其他种族的朋友说话时，因为新加坡式英语都参杂了其他语言的词汇。最重要的一点是，新加坡人都懂得如何在各种场所变换说英文的方式。在学校，工作，交际应酬时，我们都会说标准的英语，而不是随随便便地乱说话。所以，请大家不要再对新加坡式英语有误解，因为我们是有能力听，说，读，及写出标准的英语，只是singlish已经成为我们文化的一大部分，在我们日常生活中是一种与身边的新加坡人沟通的其中一种语言形式罢了。

If you can't speak proper english yourself, then I do not feel that you deserve the rights to say that "Singaporean insist that Singlish is the right english and that we insist on speaking Singlish even when people are laughing at us." Singlish has been incorporated into our culture over the years due to our multi racial society. Clearly and at the very least, we speak and write better english than you can / some taiwanese do and we do not use Singlish when it comes to professional work / cases. If you want to give an example of speaking Singlish sentences, at least perfect your properly english words first before even trying.
And, who is judging your stained white shoes? Look around the society, how many people wears dirty / stained shoes? Yes we are a clean country but not to the point when we actually care and judge about how stained your white shoes are.
Cleaners do not need to read your run down, nor is it a part of their job to know your schedules and fit to them. The cleaners' only job is to clear rubbish / plates that are not touched. No one is bothered about how messy your table is, they are just doing their jobs which is cleaning.
I always believe that before presenting something , it is always good to make preparations like doing enough of research about Singapore even thought The person can be a singaporean. :) that would be best! :) because even thought sometime we are singaporean , we will never know enough about Singapore.
