It worked with customer service... Try to talk to real people and see what will happen. Besides, we have AI's playing games so I guess it's closer than we think. Some YT douche had an AI account if I remember correctly.

@@szysi3k Technology working alongside with humans is a wonderful thing. I'm now as used to using automated checkout as I am with human checkout.
The benefit is obvious as you can hire less people and simultaneously get faster checkouts if you know how to use it.
      It's great.

AI won't replace human entertainment until AI become indistinguishable from humans. They'll be a bit part of it, sure, but not replace it. About the customer service comparison, yes many use ai, but it's crap no one likes it and everyone tries to speak to humans. The companies that use humans are often seen as better than the ones that don't. So no, they haven't replaced humans there.

@@sugoistalin7809 If you have poor reading comprehension then just put a disclaimer before you comment please.
People are choosing the automated checkout where I live exactly because it's easy and faster than waiting in line like some sheep.
People don't like change so if shops don't embrace it then that's partly their fault.
I personally love cutting time by using the self-checkout system. You don't have to talk to anyone and you skip that fake forced interaction shops make their employees say even though everyone knows it's unnecessary.
It's objectively better than the human cashiers, but that's also where it ends.
No one expects technology to replace service jobs that for which people need hyper specific information humans will be better at knowing or finding out.
I was strictly referring to cashiers so applying what I wrote to another scenario is intellectually dishonest and bankrupt.

@@icebox1954 insulting me for something you clearly have, real smart. If you actually read what I said I specifically made it clear I was talking about AI *replacing* humans. As long as people still do those jobs, that's not AI replacing them. The fact that people are choosing the automated checkout means there is still a choice, meaning humans still do that job. There's also the fact that those automated checkouts still need a human operator if something goes wrong. Since apparently you think anecdotal evidence is the most important part, the stores that use automated checkouts where I live never go a day without having to get a store employee to fix something, even if it's just because the fucking thing refuses to properly check the weight of an item.
