Thank you so much for the kind words! 🙏🏻 I’m definitely no pro; but I know I’ve come a long ways since the start and definitely enjoy helping others from the mistakes I’ve had. I’m definitely gonna put together some more; it looks like there’s more interest in the “how to” of the paint work than I thought! Thanks again brotha! 👊🏼
Right on Dan! Looks like quite a few people want more tutorials on the lowrider paint. I’ll definitely take the time to create and share if it’ll help our lowrider folks out! I watch just about all of your stuff too man! Keep it up bro 👊🏼

You’re welcome! I’m dropping one on taping and making jobs symmetrical this Saturday morning! 👊🏼 I’ll definitely keep um’ coming as long as people want them!
@ I did the backing plates on my 66 Chevy caprice video is on my channel should check it out when you have a chance. I’m planing on doing the roof and trunk on it next. Any tips and tricks would help out a lot also color combos. Thank you in advance for the help!
Thanks again brotha! 👊🏼 I’ll keep making them; gonna go over some of the other stuff soon. Like the taping out the patterns; and keep them symmetrical 👍🏼
Thank you 🙏🏻 I hesitated on making a detailed step by step because I wasn’t sure there would be much of an interest. I guess I was way off; I’ll start doing some more for everyone now. Keep your content coming; I watch just about all of them when I have time. 👊🏼
Yeah, I feel ya there! I’ve seen a lot of pattern work I wouldn’t want on my ride. I think I finally feel confident enough to put some work in on my Impala 👊🏼
Mr. Painter/& graphic artist, I can tell that u are very good with that tape. And your not needing pin stripping to cover some tape imperfections, which i don't mind seeing if needed. There both are great, either way. Kudos to you. and a thumbs up I will leave you. Moving forward, This is my opinion and my opinion ONLY. NOW, YOUR WORK IS BEAUTIFUL, but , it LOOKs LIKE EVERYONE ELSEs in cali, and arizona LAS VEGAS...WHO FREE HANDS, TO HANDDRAWN GRAPHICS ON PAPER. EVERYONE knows wasss up. Also, THE SCATEBOARD THING IS PLAYED OUT. TO EXPLAIN WHY I SAY this, ill put it all in nutshell. ALOT OF painters except for a SELECT CHOOSEN few. SILVER IS THE WAY to GO FOR THEM I GUESS. THEY WILL lay it out and than the same color of the car, is used for graphics, but candie. green, blue and they choose to pick is alway predictable candies to spray out. I feel, learn that there are other colors you can use BESIDE's THAT BASIC silver and all the rainbow colors in the book. Learn how to blend different candies and learn how to know what colors you can blend or can use to maybe the upholstery. And the demonstration and the technique should be shown on real cars or fenders or quater panels. If u notice there are not many lowriders out there with side graphics or painters that have the ability to know how to lay it out and blend in with different candies and pearls. And make it From the bottom to the top blending into hood amd trunk with all the graphics. U got what I mean, I just WANT everyone TO broaden their horizon on LOWRIDERs AND THERE PAINT JOBS AND THERE are MORE THAN JUST THE RAINBOW COLORS AND SILVER. .. THANK YOU, FOR YOUR TIME AND all of the lowriding community, I just want u all to open your mind up. And maybe customize your ride to be different. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
I definitely appreciate the feedback; I’m trying to keep an open mind to all the colors; kandies, pearls, flakes. Id say we have different opinions on painters doing the boards; obviously most people’s goals would be doing a full lowrider. But we’ve all gotta crawl before we walk; boards are cheap and gives a wider range of people a chance to get some practice in. I plan on doing my 65 soonish, but I really wanted to make sure my skill level was where I wanted it to be before jumping that extra step. I really do appreciate your feedback and thoughts.
For smaller projects you ought to get a air brush for your shading. Would not over spray as much on the outer shading lines that are only taped on the inside. Hope that makes sense. Lol Just my opinion. I've been painting smaller projects for a long time. Came out nice though. Love the magenta. 👌👍
Yeah, I started out using my airbrush; between the two LPH80’s and the airbrush it was just taking to long. But I agree, the airbrush is definitely nice for smaller projects. Thanks! I definitely love the magenta, my daughter definitely loves it! Haha
Love the work. I also love to paint skateboards but have been using spray paint, air brush & spray can clear coat. I purchased a small paint gun with the intent of using it for clear coat but I'm not sure what clear to use and where to get it. Any tips?
Thank you! I’d suggest UreChem 2K (HS) Glamour polyurethane clear coat for mixing flake and the top clear coat. They make a good intercoat clear for mixing Kandy concentrates in as well. Hope that helps! Thanks for taking the time to comment 👊🏼
Unfortunately I don’t have ari guns for auto body but can a man use your steps are have the same outcome with a rattle can any info would be awesome cause the way you do it rocks
I don’t wanna give advice on something I’ve never used myself. But I know with the settings on my gun while doing the patterns; I set it down to pretty much a cycle. I don’t know if you’d be able to do that with a rattle can or not. You might be able to; I know they sell different tips on EBay. I’d suggest buying a used air compressor if you don’t already have one. And start with the cheaper Harbor Freight guns. As your skill level gets better; upgrade a gun at a time. I hope that helps, if you want something bad enough you’ll find a way 👊🏼
@@vencilldavidit can be done it’s kinda rough what I need to do is figure out how to get the droplets a consistent size… I did a two tone color pattern and it looks like lizard skin lol
Of course! I’ll show that in a coming video. I’m sure a lot of people would like to see how to get the pattern even from side to side too 👊🏼 thanks for taking the time to comment
The first few I did took me between 20-25 hours. I bought a second Anest LPH80; so I wouldn’t need to keep changing between the shading and regular color paint. It’s saved me a lot of time; and of course I’ve just gotten much faster. In total hours; it takes me from start to finish around 15 hours each now. That’s split up between the flaking, sanding/taping, water drops drying overnight and then I can get it all painted the last day. Thanks for commenting, I hope that helps 👊🏼
The paint is sitting on the outside of the the water drop; so when it drys, the paint is basically just laying there on the object. So when you lightly mist that first coat of innercoat clear on it “locks” them into place 👊🏼 hope that helps; thanks for commenting 🙏🏻

@vencilldavid yeah, I have a 62. I think I'm gonna do some techniques on the frame, but might keep the body simple
Simple is always nice too, I like both. My 65 has some striping and leafing right now. It looks great and I hate to mess with a beautiful paint job.

Cool if the water drops dry why would they move when you spray intercoat

@@vencilldavid ok so after the drops instead of going straight to paint you do a coat of intercoat first then paint
Yep! That’s right; I’d say one super light coat and two wetter ones. I haven’t had an issue with the tape pulling paint up doing it that way yet 👊🏼
Whomever gets that skateboard is gonna be a happy camper right up until they kick it into a wall and wreck the job, LOL.
