Tbh, this has nothing to do with Buddhism, the culture background is the real origin of dragon boat festival ( which tbh shouldn’t be called dragon boat festival, it’s “Duanwu”. dragon boat, Qu yuan, eat Zongzi, are culture symbol which were bind in to the festival in the later dynasties. The original purpose of this festival were to pray to the river goddess of Luo, and as the festival is a special time of the Chinese calendar, some traditions were to help people avoiding getting sick and repel pests.) which in this video, the dancer were mean to portray river goddess of Luo, which were also described literally by Quyuan and Caozhi. So the cultural connect are really not connected with Buddhism.

@@keirasun8026 This is certainly not Hanfu. This is ancient Indian clothing brought to China by Buddhist monks. This is how Hindu Gods and Buddhist Bodhisattvas are depicted. The Chinese never dressed like this. They never showed their belly and legs and they don't wear this type of jewelry (like upper arm bracelets). The type of Hanfu during the Tang dynasty was called Ruqun.
@@nimkati5627 yea but Chinese culture was and still a multiplex and comprehensive one. It could contain a lot of things, just like this one. It has some Buddhism style in it, maybe a little bit Central Asian style as well, but this is definitely Hanfu from Tang Dynasty.
@@stuartlumi6210 actually, any hanfu is basically a robe, and here you don't have one. This type of attire existed long before Tang dynasty. It doesn't just have some Buddhist style in it. It's a classical Indian dress called "three piece garment". It consists of uttariya (the upper garment, scarf), antariya (the lower garment) and kayabandh (a piece of fabric around the waist). This is how Hindu, Jain and Buddhist deities have traditionally been depicted throughout all of South, East and Southeast Asia for millennia. This particular dress is a Chinese interpretation of this classical dress, but the only part of the world where this clothing was really worn was ancient and early medieval Gangetic plains. It came to China through Buddhist iconography, but was never worn by real Chinese. It always remained in the realm of religion. You can still find any Indian mythological series and all women will be dressed like this.

@@厉冻干粉 看来“复原”的概念真是名不副实呀…… 首先,认真复古需要严谨的学术依据,如古谱,文物等类型。中国已经没有流传至今的唐代舞谱了,因壁画描绘有限,仅依其而复原在学术上不够严谨。关于文献记载,文献记载并不详细描绘演奏技巧。所谓的敦煌舞仿壁画形象的现代编舞,不算复古。
