Warioware gold was a snack…? Man… I remember all the Nintendo UA-camrs at the time HATING on the 3ds because they didn’t get things like warioware, Samus returns, persona Q2, dragon quest 8 remaster, Luigi’s mansion port, etc. people were like, “why aren’t these games on my switch?!” all the time.
Not sure why Nintendo felt the need to end the eShop. In fact. Discontinuing a consoles support less than 2 years after discontinuing production, may be in some countries a breach of consumer law.
The 3DS is what I call "Undead" right now: dead by Nintendo standards, but still alive in terms of relevance. 1. They're expensive meaning there's demand for them. Anecdotally I can safely say both me and my sibling play ours on a regular/semi-regular basis, so it's still at least personally and culturally relevant. 2. Games and even apps are still coming out in the form of homebrew. There's Five Nights at Freddy's, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, OneShot, Sonic Mania, and even ChatGPT, and they're still coming!
The 3ds was the last console I was genuinely excited to get my hands on. Maybe it's just me getting older, but there was definitely some special potential that the 3ds had that we just don't see in the switch.
Lost in blue released on DS so 3Ds can play it in fact making it a none flawed system Also the 3Ds has the best line up of games period there is quite literally something there for everyone. Jrpgs? SMT, pokemon Srpgs? Fire emblem Drpgs? Etrian odyssey. Platformer? Mario, sonic A(action)rgs? Monster hunter, fantasy explorers Rhythm? Miku, ff theatrum there is something for everyone
Great video dude! You're pretty funny, keep going and your channel will blossom in no time! The 3DS is one of the most underrated console ever imo, I love that little system
I think that if they had the ambassador program and dropped the price for the Wii U it would have done better. However it wouldn't have made sense to that on a home console and dropping the price likely would have resulted in the Wii U being sold in even more of a loss because of how expensive the GamePad and stuff was.
Yet another stellar video! It was definitely worth the wait for you to make this as quality and hilarious as possible! Do you have an equivalent for the Wii U in the works? Also, I feel sorry for you to not knowing the amazingness of Fire Emblem...
Thank you very much! I do have something for the Wii U but it hasn’t been written out completely yet! Whoops! I’m not the biggest fan of tactical RPGs they make my brain hurt
@Boring Brandon In your Wii U video could you please mention how underrated the game library is as well as how cheap they are compared to the Switch versions. Also mention the cult following the Wii U has with stuff like modding and home-brew. As someone who's first Nintendo console was the Wii U that would be nice.
I honestly think the 3DS had a bad start because of the price, it was the same as the Vita I think and pushed the 3D gimmick the most. After that they mainly focused on things other than the 3D and dropped the price and the reason why it sold so incredibly well is because it was basically the only handheld people were really interested in. It did have a great launch in Japan however as it literally outsold the PS4 over there.
The thing that continues to baffle me is why Nintendo knew that a price cut worked for the 3DS…. but they refused to do it with the Wii U. I know they cut it by 50 bucks but that should have been the only model they released (that white version with 8 GB with no Nintendo Land was a bone head move). It’s almost like even Nintendo didn’t believe in the Wii U where as they had faith that the 3DS could work. Odd.
@@BoringBrandon1 Yeah, perhaps. I do know that Nintendo was taking a heavy loss with 3DS hardware sales when they dropped the price. The same would have been true with the Wii U. But, again, they limped on for 5 years without a true price cut? Remember the Gamecube? They reduced the price on that thing twice. First to 150 and eventually 99. They had even tougher competition during that time but they still tried to make the console work. Nintendo gonna Nintendo I suppose.
The last couple of years for the 3DS had some of my favorite games release for it. Specifically Yo-Kai Watch Blasters, and Yo-Kai Watch 3. Too bad that because they released so late, they had a limited print run. At least I was able to get physical copies of those games before that happened.
I had one since 2013 but sold it a few years back... Big Mistake! The e-shop closing made me buy a New 3DS XL. I have a digital copy of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. A used physical copy goes for about $75.00! Plus I missed playing Pokémon Crystal. :)
9 seconds in and I HIT SUBSCRIBE. I laughed so freaking hard dude from the moment I heard the music 🎶 to "my self esteem is DEAD". OMG OMG 😱 please keep being you!
@Thrilite thank you very much for your responses! Do check out Mario & Luigi Bowser Inside Story & I think Kid Icarus Uprising and A Link Between Worlds are a must
Your name is clipped off when seeing the video pop up, so it looks like at first glance you're calling the final years of the 3DS boring. Let's see if that is case after watching this video, which given your previous entertaining videos, certainly won't be boring to watch. 2:44 - The Wii U's end was pretty sudden though; a dual release of Breath of the Wild and then a complete drop of support from Nintendo. The 3DS got at least a transitional period as it were with games in 2017 and even 2018, which I suspect is due to both games already being in development and concerns about whether the Switch would take off (I think it's level and speed of success surprised even Nintendo). 4:03 - Gyro and it's streetpass functionalities had way more of an impact on the 3DS for me than the 3D effect did; though said 3D effect does look stunning in some games (DOA Dimensions comes to mind first). Nintendo really put the effort into revitalising the 3DS after a bumpy start unlike Sony with the Vita... or Nintendo with the Wii U. 8:32 - There were a fair few late 3DS games that really do feel like they should have been New 3DS exclusive. I recall my brother getting one for Ultra Sun/Moon and the game still struggled on the upgraded system so I can't imagine how rough the experience would be on a regular 3DS. 9:36 - No lie; I really enjoyed Federation Force. That said, I do feel it'd have been better suited releasing on the Wii U, perhaps even exclusively (it was planned to release on it at one point). It'd have allowed for decent looking full sized character models (though I like the chibi look, I understand it's clash with Metroid as a series) and I feel would be more comfortable to play for longer experiences. 13:50 - Delighted to see Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers get a mention. It may have been one of last Nintendo published 3DS games but it easily ranks as one of my favourites on the system. I adore the series and continue hoping for it's continuation.
Another great comment with some great insight for me. I 100% agree with the federation force comment, I think if it were released on a console it would've faired way better
@@BoringBrandon1 Aww, thanks! Nice to hear someone agree with me on the Federation Force idea. It was apparently planned for both Wii U and 3DS but dropped for the former, probably due to the effort and funding required to make it for both systems and one of those not being a successful system. I suppose they banked of Federation Force being a rare 3DS FPS to sell it and it ultimately didn't.
Hey everyone! Thank you very much for watching! Also apologies for the audio issues!

That was bad because 3ds is still new enough
Who cares as long as the hshop is still a thing.

3:07 still impressive how it lasted until 2007-2008, yet still sold 81 million units
What's interesting is that the 2DS & 2DS XL are still on sales charts in Japan.
That’s right! It’s still just as popular in Japan !
I hope Fire Emblem Awakening gets a Switch remaster at some point this year
That would be amazing!
I miss the 3Ds
For what it’s worth, that leaving a party without telling someone was named after me. “The Lee Dip”. I’m known around NYC for that move.
