Dario S I’ve been a Swifty since Fearless came out. Reputation is about falling in love despite a terrible reputation despite what everybody saying about you despite the chaos around you.
Cause she didnt, kim only said that kanye did actually call her and that is abv TRUE, while TS team was making it seem as if the call never happened, as soon as the first video leaked, she switched to aw its the "i made that bitch famous" line that i didnt approve, when she clearly told him in the SECOND leaked video, do whatever u think is best. And NO ONE approves a married man rapping about fucking them, but is all worked up about the bitch part unless its to save their ass and do damage control. Taylor is way much better than kanye, dont get me wrong. But she aint a saint, it was her attempt to revange but it went wrong, she did damage control and of course the little fans believe whatever makes their idol look good. Also, since when a rapper has to call for approvement when dissing someone !?
@@martasorangeberry i followed this since it came out, the very first statement her team released to the press was that the call never took place, i actually even went back to look for it after all of this fell down but found no trace of it, her team must of did some really quick erasing. In the phone call yes she sounded hesitant, but eventually she did tell him to do whatever he wants. As for kim, she was only trying to prove that the call actually did happen, so technically she did not lie. Also i go back to my other argument, a rapper does not take permission to diss someone, so many other pop artists get dissed, so what makes TS so special ? Same thing with her problem with her ex company, legends such as Michael Jackson didnt get the right to buy their own work yet no one speaks about it, people forget that its business and loose their logic over emotions, it's like as if a company give u money and sponsor u to create a product then u claim that its all urs and u want to forcefully buy its rights, of course they aint gonna sell u if they dont see profit in it.
@@Ibti500 dude. Clearly you left out a lot and missed a lot. This is what kim said after the leaked video : To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that “Kanye never called to ask for permission...” They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word “bitch” was used without her permission. And this is what taylor’s publicist tree paine said as a reaction to her: I’m Taylor’s publicist and this is my UNEDITED original statement. Btw, when you take parts out, that’s editing. P.S. who did you guys piss off to leak that video? 😂😂😂 “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single “Famous” on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic massage. Taylor was never aware of the actual lyric, “I made that bitch famous”” And a statement from me. How is Taylor’s team able to cover “the untruth statement” up when thousands of news, magazines and accounts tweeted about the statement above. Comprehension is needed.
Don't forget Blank Space! Style and Wildest Dreams are easier to appreciate on first listen, but Blank Space is genuinely one of my favorite songs. She's claimed before that it's a satire of the way the media perceives her, and while I think the song is very cleverly written if interpreted as such, the character she paints in the song is still consistent with tracks like Style and Wildest Dreams, and she meant those songs seriously. Because of that, I think it's more fun to interpret it as the "Runaway" of her career, a self-critical reflection on her relationships and fame. And that chorus imo is THE pop anthem of 2010s, everyone belting out into "SO IT'S GONNA BE FOREVER, OR IT'S GONNA GO DOWN IN FLAMES" at a party is magical lol.
It's your opinion and i respect it but I think you didnt understand the concept of reputation. When she released it every one thought it was going to be this insane revenge album and that she was coming for all her enemies. And then we heard it and it was not. It's about how she was feeling crappy and every one hated her and she couldn't go out in public without being chased and attacked, and she was going trough two very close in time public breakups. And in the midst of that, she met someone who didn't care about her reputation and that didnt care about the public opinion and wanted a really private relationship. It's about how she fell in love and learned not to care about all that stuff. It's not about her reputation it's about her not caring about her reputation. And if you look at the track list it makes sense it starts really dark and then she meets him and then delicate happens where she doesnt know if she should start a relationship. And then it's dancing with our hands tied wich is about keeping their love a secret because of being afraid of what the public will say. And it ends with her not caring and saying call it what you want to because i'm happy and I have someone to spend new years day with. Someone that will stay when you are hangover. It's an album about falling in love at the worst time possible but it being the best thing that ever hapened because it helped you pull trough
The album concept and intent can be there and the story building can be amazing but if the songs just don’t land then it doesn’t matter. He didn’t enjoy the album it didn’t work for him, he wasn’t knocking it. 808s and heartbreak and yeezus are great albums they’re not my cup of tea and they are for others but I still love Kanye more than anything. Hope this makes sense
Best Pop song she ever created too. And the best on 1989 ofcourse, the melody, lyrics, production plus the amazing mv video easily made it into one of the best pop songs ever
Bautista I really like the reputation album but I definitely think you can make a case for it being less relatable and feeling like a a well written marketing strategy... because it was. There’s obviously killer tracks like IDSB, DBM, and softer tracks like delicate, call it what you want and New Year’s Day that show her maturity and growth pertaining to love. I do think that while it probably was something that she needed to get off her chest and say, the celebrity drama incorporated in the reputation album can be seen as a downfall to the album from a “is it relatable to her audience” perspective, because it isn’t nearly as relatable as other topics she’s written about in the past.
Rosie Raptor I know what you mean but I definitely don’t think reputation isn’t a relatable album. Setting aside who she had drama with, the album is about treason, revenge, rumors and basically being a badass bitch and not letting all the shit people say about you let you down. We’ve all been through situations where we’ve felt like that and on the hand it’s a definite mood lifter.
I feel like Rep is an experience. You can still enjoy it without knowing her and the context of her previous dramas, but it means more to fans who have watched her struggle and could experience Rep irl. She was coming back into the public, we were all expecting disses towards Kimye, and while we did receive it, this album was so much more than that. When you listen to the album and look at the track list, you realize that while it is about her reputation, the actual thesis is about finding love through the noise and a bad reputation. She was poison ivy and then became a daisy; her love had been frozen, deep blue until Joe painted her golden. This is why the album begins harsh but softens by the end. This is all a TSwift fan wants for her: for her to be happy and in love.
folklore13 that’s what I though. none Taylor Swift fan wouldn’t understand reputation because they were there when she was bullied back in 2016. So if they listen to reputation, they will just think of it as an ordinary pop album but for us it’s an experience.
Lover is such a difficult album for me to rank because on one hand you have bland and unfinished sounding filler, but then on the other hand you have incredible writing like Cornelia Street or death by a thousand cuts or cruel summer. Those 3 are some of my favourite Taylor tracks, but then there's also some of the least interesting she's ever made.
Yeah I agree, and by the end of it, honestly to me everything was starting to blend together only to be suddenly jolted away with this complete 180 in sounds then disappointed by that same blend afterward
Personally I would rank folklore higher than RED due to folklore being more sonically cohesive. The writing on folklore is way better, production is soo soft , well thought out and Taylor Swifts vocals on folklore is the best in her entire career. You can over-play folklore and it STILL won’t age badly. Both albums are amazing, artistic peaks but folklore is undoubtedly her “MAGNUM OPUS” . Oh this my personal rankings of her discography FOLKLORE > RED > speaknow >lover> Reputation > 1989 > fearless = Taylorswift
I disagree. Read this bit below: “It's all the different ways that you have to say goodbye to someone," Swift told Billboard about the concept for the album, adding, “Every different kind of missing someone, every kind of loss - it all sounds different to me." When the album came out, critics' main gripe was that it wasn't "sonically cohesive." With all due respect to those critics, they missed the point completely. The way that there is no "signature sound" to "Red" lends to its masterpiece status. With every addition of an acoustic guitar or dubstep wobble, Swift gives each inflection of her pain a different sound. She brilliantly laid out this album to showcase all the ways that love and loss can be messy, while simultaneously pointing out the different types of beauty within that mess. It’s supposed to be sonically incohesive. Goodbyes are never the same.
It's completely understandable that you didn't like reputation, that album was not for people to relate to, that was an album she needed to make to move past the drama that Kanye and Kim created, ofc it's gonna be a dramatic album and if you're not very familiar with her and her life it's completely understandable that you wouldn't like it, I would consider that album as a grower bc when I listened to it I didn't really love it and then I kept it on replay over and over it again
it’s not even all about kanye west, it’s also about how at that point the media changed their perception of her from her dating life and she talks about how it is to have the whole world hate on you.
Swifties need to understand that Reputation was for them, not the general public. It's a fan favorite for a reason because without experiencing it during its time, it loses much of it's meaning, and that's fine. Let it be a fan favorite.
Nevertheless, he could have done a little more research if he was gonna do a reaction video to her albums. Or at least, as a Kanye fan, see the whole picture and try to understand it
I’m a massive fan but it’s easily my least favorite, I don’t understand why everyone seems to love it so much. Lyrics are terrible, production is ass, & conceptually the album doesn’t even make any sense (track order is all over the place).
It can be a fan favorite but it is filled with love songs about her boyfriend, yet locals still say it is about Kanye. It is about falling in love during chaos and it did not get bad reviews you just hate women standing up for themselves. Even in this video this dude did not mention she was proven right or that it is Kanye who bullied her for years. He is acting like they were just enemies, he literally tried to ruin her life.
I don’t want to be redundant, my opinion is reflective of a lot of these comments, but I want to say that there is a lot to be said about Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince, which demonstrates her ability to write very intelligent lyrics which are open to diverse interpretation and deliver them in a comprehensible way, and Getaway Car, which next to All Too Well, is one of the most relatable pieces about relationship complexities, and the hindsight interpretation of what that moment in time was. They are both songs that can be played on the radio, and can be appreciated by multiple age groups. I am a 30 year-old man, and I stan her. That speaks volumes to her lyrical genius. Haha.
Totally agree, 'Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince' just has this hypnotic bouncing carousel feeling to it that I fucking love. My favorite song out of Lover though, has to be 'Cruel Summer'. The line, "I'm always waiting for you to cut to the bone," is a line that hits me amongst such a fun, carefree sounding tune.
Literally what I think every time I see or hear people discuss Taylor Swift album rankings. RED will forever be threaded through my soul. It’s my soul mate in album form.❤️ I mean, not to get too dramatic about it or anything.😅
w well that’s just simply false, have you ever heard Kendrick, you know someone that actually tells a story with his music, makes more than below average break up songs
Rubber Duck it’s only bs to people who haven’t heard all her music. There’s enough room for more than one artist to make good music and be lyrically gifted. Get some therapy for your sexism
@@sudenazdemir2363 there is nothing special about it, look what you made me do is one of the most cringe songs I’ve ever heard, how can people take a 30 year old woman saying “the old Taylor, oh she’s dead” seriously, like that song has to be one of the worst pop songs to ever be released, then there is the trendy collaboration with future and Ed Sheeran which suits neither future nor Taylor and also the hook on that song, please!, then there is dress, it has got to be the most bland and uninteresting songs Taylor has ever released, same for call it what you want, it has such a basic hook and the content isn’t really interesting, then the album opener “ready for it” , omg this song made me almost vomit and is without a doubt, one of the worst Taylor songs ever, don’t blame me and king of my heart, oh please just stop already, the opening to delicate, I swear if she mentions her reputation once more I’m gonna kill myself, but i do like this song and I also like delicate and getaway car, but the worst failure is that she failed what she wanted to do, she wanted to create this edgy project and separate herself from the safe pop music which she is known for but reputation ended becoming a parody of that concept and failed at what it wanted to do, also this album really kinda did huge damage to her pop career, as the singles for Lover underperformed and sank pretty quickly, sure Lover sold well, but it was pure hype, as a result of her dying pop career she made folklore which I really enjoyed but reputation is her worst album to date.
Songs like "So It Goes", "Dress" and "Don't Blame Me" are also bops to me. They're more sensual than what I expected but I can't get over them. "Don't Blame Me" makes me feel like I'm praying in a beautiful temple, a spiritual experience.
The funniest thing in this video is him saying reputation lacks in depth and he thought it's meaningless.... Time to watch Miss Americana documentary to understand why reputation is 2nd best and folklore is 1st best album..
1. Folklore 2. Speak Now 3. Red 4. Reputation 5. 1989 6. Lover 7. Fearless 8. Taylor Swift (self titled album) Lol I replied to someone a few comments up with this newly made list. Then I scroll down and find that u have the same list. YESS I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE WHO APPRECIATED SPEAK NOWW
Watching every person getting into Taylor Swift lose their mind at 'All Too Well' is always a treat. I rejected Reputation at first, but upon later listening I realized it was just an entire album of roleplaying her character from 'Blank Space'. Songs like 'Getaway Car' jumped out as her adopting a villain persona, and it seemed like such a story that I didn't realize it was an autobiographical account of her relationship with Tom Hiddleston.
As SWIFTIES, this is my ranking! Taylor's best Albums, including my faves are : 1. folklore "A fictional story and a reality became one" 2. reputation "In the death of her reputation, she felt truly alive" 3. 1989 "She lost him, but she found herself. Somehow that was everything" 4. Fearless "Love and dreams" 5. Lover "A journal about the love letter to love itself" 6. RED "Tragic love experience" 7. Speak Now "I don't think you should wait, but i think you should speak now" 8. Taylor Swift "What she knows about love vs what love really is"
Ooh damn I agree with some of them and not others. Here are my rankings. 1. Folklore 2. Speak Now 3. Red 4. Reputation 5. 1989 6. Lover 7. Fearless 8. Taylor Swift (self titled album) Wow, Lover and Fearless are so hard to rank, like there are such good songs but other less favorable songs on both albums.
@@vivianl.8900 i was ranking her Albums with some categories. I was trying so hard not to be bias, but at the same time i also want to put my fav preference in it. So yeah i use some math stuff, i calculated every points that the Albums get and it ends like that. But my list also could change if we just talk about my personal favorite or the quality wise of the Album itself. In this list i tried to combine both of them. So yeah 😁
As a swiftie, I can say that Kanye has also dropped classics. You don’t have to be a fan of either to realize they both have good music for their very different genres!
As an ex Ye fan College dropout still slaps Hell Taylor was a fan before he yeah you know Ye is a legend I just can't accept him as a person He's crazy
No it's mid. Folklore and Red are better. Infact almost anything she's released is better. Look, you can make an album that means something, but it doesn't mean that artistically and musically its a good album. Almost every releases music that means something, it doesn't make it good. Taylor has much better music than Reputation
@@lilskp4698 Oh I don't use Twitter. I didn't know who is trying to keep the beef alive. It honestly just seems so long ago for a person my age, who was there, that it feels unusual in this day and age, where everything is so quick to die and cancelling is a minutes long riot, for it to be remember so heatedly as anything more than banter at this point. But for new kids it might be more traumatizing lol. I'm talking bout the first drama btw, not the 'famous' bar or anything milking it. I think Taylor fans should just 'ironically' appreciate his artistry more, they would learn a thing or two about prejudice. It's not like the reason they hate Kanye isn't the same reason that Kanye's "fans" like him. They should just demystify the beef, that'd be more clever.
I’m so sorry but the fact you say that “reputation” is about celebrity and reputation only means you didn’t listen to the album. There are TWO songs about being a celebrity on reputation. It’s actually about finding love. Rookie mistake. Will not be watching, no hate, it’s just evident you didn’t really listen 🤷♂️
I know the meaning of every song, I know the context surrounding it too. But, Reputation struggles so much. It has too much ideas, and struggles to bring them in one album, It gets overstuffed and stale. The tracks are musically stale. Almost every track on the album uses the same musical scales and notes. It kinda relies too much on context. I do think it's her weakest album.
But that is the problem, most of the album only gets good when you know the context, and it shouldn’t be that way. Everyone should be able to enjoy it even without the context
I personally really like repuation. For me it would probably be my 2nd or 3rd favorite TS album. But totally agree with what you said about the other albums.
My personal ranking: 1: Red / Rep / Folklore 2: Speak Now /1989 3: Fearless / Lover 4: Taylor Swift P.S It's absolutely normal for you to no completely understand how incredible rep era is so I suggest you watching the documentary on Netflix called Miss Americana. You'll have more information about that era cause as she says "I didnt wanted explain anything it's just reputation. You guys know I'm dramatic"
Agree with your ranking. I have a special type of love for Reputation cause not only is it a awesome clap back album, but its the 1st time I got to see her in concert and she went all out. One of my best days hands down
I'm so glad you enjoyed all too well so much!!! Also, Speak Now is entirely self written by Taylor (after backlash from critics for her not being able to pull her weight in song writing sessions on her previous albums).
Ikr?! It's really cool to see people being open minded and enjoying music by TS. I feel like I've said it a thousand times today but All Too Well is👌👌👌. Also, I didn't know that about Speak Now! 😊
I might disagree with some of your opinions, but I always respect people who are willing to try something different, don't judge on appearances and are able to accept that they were wrong in their assessment of someone. As a fan of your channel and a fan of Taylor Swift I had always wondered how you felt about her.
The thing with Taylor’s albums is that your ranking changes many times, the more you listen the more you like every single track. SHE’S A ONE IN A LIFETIME ARTIST. On top of the game for YEARS and successfully transitioning genres. She’s only improving as the years go on. She has survived celebrity drama, cancel culture and has fought for artist rights against Apple and Spotify and she’s currently fighting to own her masters, songs that she has written about HER life, her music video ideas, her sound ideas, her tour ideas, she has been involved in every aspect of her career since day one! She was the first artist BMR signed, her catalogue is what makes the Label be high valued.Yet all that people see is a girl that sings about her ex boyfriends but she sings about more than just exes. The media portrays her as “problematic” “always playing the victim” “serial dater” but the truth is that she’s none of that. Her songwriting is like no other.
Cruel Summer and Style are 2 of the best songs of the 2010s period. Right up there with some of my favorite Kanye tracks of this decade like Runaway and Blood on the Leaves
I really loved this video and I just wanted to share my rank: 1. folklore 2. reputation 3. Speak Now 4. Lover 5. 1989 6. Red 7. Fearless 8. Taylor Swift I know it seems not making sense cuz reputation, folklore and Speak Now are totally different but I just love everything she does and I don't have a favorite gender. =)
How could you miss “False god”? That was such a good song. To me “Folklore” is her best album, she doesn’t sound like a teen blaming on others, now she tells well-crafted stories with incredibly interesting sounds. Like it’s even magical, way better than “red”. But I think we all love “All too well” too much.
I like to see your honest opinion as the outsiders. But reputation for me personally is one of her greatest record and It's cohesive too. This record meant a lot for me, her discography is so relatable. Well if I'm not bias i do agree that Red is her best Album but however the main narrative that she had to the project doesn't really fit the entire final version of it. Red supposed to be an album about the tragic toxic love experience, but some songs like 22, stay stay stay are throwing me off. I do like 22, but somehow it doesn't feel right, it doesn't belong in RED. But personally in my ranking Folklore is her best Album, the idea and the narrative that she had fit perfectly to the album itself. And I'm glad she released this one cause Lover didn't really connect with me as much as reputation, 1989 or even RED.
as a huge swiftie, this was incredibly interesting to watch. I loved the insight you provided and all of your reasoning. any person that ranks All Too Well as the greatest swift song ever automatically earns a spot in the fandom
Personally I have folklore over Red, but this is a pretty good list. I also respect you putting 1984 on 4th, I feel like that's probably the album people disagree on the most (I'm still pissed that my fav on the album "You Are in Love", didn't even appear on the original and only made the cut on the deluxe version) Edit: Also, big agree, 'All Too Well' is an amazing song. And props for mentioning 'peace' too, such an overlooked track out of folklore.
Reputation was dissed by so many people. And honestly it is one of my favorites. Because yes, on the surface it seems shallow and far flung out. But the more you listen to it the deeper you go into it, the more you understand. The visual metaphors and sarcasm in songs like, Look What You Made Me Do, and Don't Blame Me, are mind blowing. You really have to look at half of this album from a social standpoint and the other half from a personal one many label this album about fame, but the truth is it's a poetic love letter, to your one true lover, and yourself
I want you to reconsider the ranking for Reputation. I think Rep it's an album that has to be listened taking into account the context in which it was created. You already know the whole timeline within the Kanye-Taylor feud from 2009 to 2016 but that's exactly the core of the album: it should be listened as her version of the story and the ideas/feelings/stories/times she was experiencing at the time she disappeared from the public eye for so long not only because of the Kanye thing, but also fake friends, short-lasting relationships, and overall bad experiences back to back. You might think the album is loose within itself but the truth is she actually portraits a story: the first few tracks showcase her as this dark "alter-ego" of her, as the ruin of her reputation asks her to be strong but as the album progresses you can witness the tenderness and vulnerability of the human inside that hard shell of a "cold and snakey superstar". And the most important thing is: you can basically understand the power of love to overcome her worst crisis in life from different angles; all due to the showing up of the right person at her worst time. To me, it's a really vulnerable album behind these "strong and hard" sonics. Give it another try minding the context of the period 2015 to 2017.
i’ve loved taylor since i was a child so maybe it’s just nostalgia- but i think she gets massively overlooked as a songwriter. she’s written some beautiful songs
I love how the new taylor album finally got people that wouldn't usually listen to her to finally give her a chance because of that stupid celebrity beef that doesn't actually affect any of us and resulted the worst music from both of the respective artists
How are you feeling about all of this now? As a Taylor Swift fan I'm very pleased that even two years ago you picked up on All Too Well being her best song. It was always the fan favourite, she played it at concert even years later (it was on the Reputation stadium tour track list and played all the way through, not as part of the great est hits medley). And after the relase of Taylor's version of Red and the 10 min version of the song and the mv/short film it's gonna be common knowledge that this is THE Taylor song. Over all I'm very happy to have found this video. I hope you liked Evermore.
Disagree with rep, it's my favorite album ever and I feel like it perfectly captures and is able to put you in that place of finding the calm in the storm. But, I get that it's not for everyone. I completely agree with 1989. Finally someone who expressed everything about how I feel about that album. It's such a weird thing for me as a Taylor Swift fan because for many fans it's her favorite. But the songs didn't connect with me. But I respect it as a pop album. This was a really interesting video to see, because I can agree with a lot you are saying, I just didn't think that all of this would come from a Kanye West Stan lmao
I'm a hardcore Swiftie and Reputation is one of my favorite Taylor albums, but I don't understand why this comment section is full of Swifties crying about his opinion on Reputation. Did you guys stop watching after he said he didn't like Rep? Because if you kept watching you'd hear him compliment every other album. And also like he said he's new to the fandom, so Rep isn't going to mean as much to him as it does to us. And at the end of the day it's his opinion, you're allowed to disagree but he's still allowed to share it. In a sea of Kanye stans that shit on Taylor, here we have one who is actually kind and admits Taylor is a once in a lifetime artist, so why not be kind instead? A wise poet once said "you need to calm down."
i think that reputation is the album where she mostly focuses on herself. she wrote more songs about her feelings in there more than guys and etc. call it what you want is a masterpiece and the bass of it is so good. and getaway car and cruel summer from lover are really something.
As someone who's both a Kanye fan and a Taylor fan I definitely have Folklore in my top 3 Taylor albums but 1989 is still #1 for me. I also like Fearless a lot but as its aged I realize how similar all the songs sound compared to some of her newer albums. I actually enjoyed Lover a lot and a few of the Reputation tracks grew on me after a while though.
If you think only delicate is the only standout on reputation, they you havent listen to the album carefully at all. Getaway car is one of her toptier songs in general plus dont blame me, king of my hear, dancing with our hands tied, and dress grower the lyrics are good especially the bridge.
i didn't like reputation at first but the stadium tour change my mind. if you don't feel her anger, sadness, and passion in the album, the stadium tour will change that. i ended up loving reputation because it makes me feel like the main character in a story lol
I will say Red has never been my absolute favorite Taylor Swift album (that has been tossed around between Speak Now, Folklore, and Evermore a lot), but seeing fresh eyes analyzing it really makes me appreciate what it does
To Kanye fans , we swifties actually know and agree that Kanye's album r masterpiece and great producer but we dislike him bcos of his personality and the main reason we not liking him is 2009 and 2016 incident.
@Sam I don't understand why everyone thinks he's one of the worst people ever. He's not Hitler. He's not a criminal. He's done a lot of good stuff like building shelters for homeless and freeing innocent people from jail. But Everyone clowns him for having a mental health issue which is supposed to be taken seriously and that doesn't help.
@@jlaviation6207 having mental health issues doesn't excuse you and doing on good thing doesn't excuse you from the other bad things you keep on doing. Growing up is a different thing and doing good things just to do a bad thing again is different. Does having a depression make me a sexist?
his ranking was pretty fair how ever it felt like he was ranking her writing and not really the album and its meaning and what it signifies everything else i was okay with except making reputation last
I absolutely love all her albums but for me: 1. Folklore and reputation 2. 1989 and Lover 3. Red, Fearless and Speak Now 4. Taylor Swift I absolutely adore each one of them

First I'm glad that you got over your preconceptions about her and did a dive in her complete discography. My ranking is the following 1. Folklore 2. Red (mostly for All too well and the hit singles) 3. Reputation (because yes, to me it works, it's mature unapologetic and has a lot of subtle meanings) 4.1989 Blank space, New Romantics Bad Blood. Top notch 5. Speak now 6. Fearless (I fell in love with her because of Love story and You belong with me but it has its up and downs) 7. Lover (songs like Me, death by a thousand cuts, it's nice to have a friend are dragging this down even if Lover is up there with All too well for me) 7 ex aequo. Taylor Swift. (I love teardrops on my guitar and picture to burn so for me it's not the last but and I still like it a lot) So, given my opinion it's obvious I don't agree on your take on Reputation, the moodiness, the lyricism the production of that album, the almost effortless change in styles without feeling like a different singer. It's mind blowing good, and it's finally about her stop giving as many f*cks. It's sarcastic it's a "f*ck you all" to her detractors, and those preasing her for being well behaved... and WE ALL as her fans needed that. It was a cultural shift for the Fandom. It was also one album in which she was discussing society much more than she actually was discussing breakups, she needed that change because people keep saying that she can't write any other songs and boy can she.
I’m glad you liked red. Its a fan fave. I like how you did research for speak now and didn’t just judge it based on what you heard. This was genuine and I really liked this video
as a Taylor stan, our opinions are pretty similar! I agree 100% about Lover.. the singles and last leg of the album drag it down a lot. My ranking is pretty much the same of yours, but switch Speak Now and Red, and bump rep up a couple spots!
Don't you think that Taylor's albums (a.k.a her real-life autobiography) really resembles a great cinematic plot in movies? 1. Self-title (Taylor Swift): her new, humble beginning 2. Fearless: her breakout, experiencing first love, believing fairy tales 3. Speak Now: coming of age love story 4. Red: toxic relationships and a nasty break-up 5. 1989: independent and happy single life, global domination (second breakout album) 6. Reputation: bitter, twisted and dark vengeance girl, finding love among the chaos 7. Lover: true love DOES exist 8. folklore: a mature, deep and philosophical woman
Oddly enough Kanye's discography is kinda similar 1. College Dropout: The beginning of Kanye's career 2. Late Registration: Kanye continues to pave his career 3. Graduation: Kanye slowly sees his ego getting the best of him but besides that life is good 4. 808's and Heartbreaks: Things take a turn for the worse as Kanye's mom died and girlfriend cheated on him around the same time. Expresses his feelings of heartbreak and depression. 5: MBDTF: Kanye after the VMA's constructs his comeback album to save his reputation. Gets lucky and his album becomes the most revered album of the decade. 6. Yeezus: Kanye reflects on his life decisions and how is ego, alcoholism, crave for love and sex, has lead him down a path of destruction while he sees the world crumble around him politically. 7. TLOP: Kanye continues starts to reflect again on his religion, friends, family, himself, and how the media portrays him, and his controversial past 8. Ye: Kanye gets diagnosed with Bi-Polar Syndrome and delves into his mental health. He talks about his mistakes and how its effected his household . this is also the last album he would swear on and it be uncensored 9. JIK: Kanye fully devotes himself to christ making a true gospel album however doing it haphazardly. He talks about his devotion to christ and thats most of it. 10. Donda: Kanye attempts Christian music however pulls it off way better than he did in JIK. He dedicates this album to his mother and delves into his divorce, his mother, and his loss of identity. He tries to live up to his mothers name and find his true self
i think ppl in comment section should chill.. CLEARLY he doesnt know why reputaion exist.. the depth of EVERY song.. the shades to kimye.. how she overcame the death of her reputaion n found herself... how she fell in love with all the chaos around n describing the long and loving relationship.. how the media portrayed her n how she felt about it... i meam ppl talk about her break up n heartbreak songs but nobody talks about the fact how beautifully she describes her love n lover.. i mean the line "loves me like i am brand new" 😭❤🥺 my GOD not everyone gets reputation.. probably if he knew everything TS he'd not call this album meaningless/celebrity fame potrayal.. you guys my favourite album is reputation, the song "dancing with our hands tied" and "call it what want" 😭❤ also evermore is growing on me like damn all i am listening is champagne problems n willow❤ my ranking though (idk if anyone cares but still) 1. Repuattion ( i mean even though evermore n folklore r here i am NOT over rep.. i am still mentally processing the beauty of every song everyday) 2. Red 3.1989/evermore (evermore is still growing since i am mentally in rep era lol) idk i guess rep will be my forever favorite album because she was going through A LOT like she was literally publicly bullied for almost 3 years because of some "edited receipts" for a male artist to humiliate her in his video... like imagine someone made ur naked wax statue put it in a video, called you bitch n said real offensive stuff and then CLAIMED to have taken ur permission and when you show ur disagreement the whole entire world bullies you, calls you a liar/snake and cancels you... 😑😑
Songs I would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to give Taylor Swift a chance: Ivy, The Lakes, The Last Great American Dynasty, Cruel Summer, Soon You’ll Get Better, Haunted, Majorie, Long Live, State Of Grace, Safe&Sound, Back To December, Clean, Cowboy Like Me, My Tears Ricochet, Forever Winter, Getaway Car, New Year’s Day, Tolerate It, Wonderland, New Romantics, No Body No Crime, evermore, Champagne Problem, Eyes Open, Don’t Blame Me and All Too Well (both 5 and 10 minutes Version) I feel like this is a pretty diverse list of her discography so far, and has some of her best songs.
my ranking is honestly pretty similar... and im a swiftie so you have taste 9. rep (i like it, the asthetic and tour are great and dont blame me and some other songs are some of my absolute favorites but yeah) 8. Lover (yeah i know, its wierd with these but i actuañly do not dislike ME and also justice for cruel summer ) 5. evermore (i absolutely love it but is just not there with folklore but its pretty close) 4. Folklore (its prob her best but not my fav but i still ADORE it) 3. 1989 (whatver your say... this is a pop bible) 3. Red (IS SOOOOO GOOOD, i just love it so much) 1. Speak now (ok, this is like her 3rd best but is my fav so who cares)

Starwalker I’m pretty sure he listened to all of them, it’s okay that he didn’t love it! I love it, it definitely means a lot to me, but we can’t just assume and hate on someone that has different opinions the us.
folklore13 He’s allowed to dislike it. I just think it was wrong for him to call it an empty album with no direction because that’s not true at all. It’s about finding love in the process of losing your reputation. And with him being a Kanye stan, it is throws me off a little bit because a lot of the songs on there are about Kanye so I feel like maybe he was being a little biased. But who knows
The main reason why he put red in the first place was also the reason why the album was criticized. They said it was not cohesive because it is a combination of country and pop. 😊
My ranking 1. Lover 2. folklore 3. reputation 4. 1989 5. Red TV 6. Speak Now 7. Fearless TV 8. Taylor Swift Tbh, idk where to place evermore because I’ve listened to it and her songwriting is amazing in it, but I feel like some tracks didn’t stand out for me. It’s not a Taylor album I listen to a lot, so I don’t really have much of an opinion on it. With that being said, I really like tracks 1-8, but I think I need to go back and listen to the album a few times to really be able to understand the lyrics and connect with the album.
I recommend you watching Miss Americana on Netflix so you could get a bit more context, a bit more explanation of what reputation is actually about. This album wasn't actually meant to be about living in a spotlight and fame. I'm glad you listened to her songs after all this time. My ranking would be totally different but everyone has different taste.
@Sam I am very well aware of that...but not everyone is. I personally absolutely love this album. So after hearing his opinion about rep I just suggested him waching the documentary since it could help understanding more of what lyrics are actually about.
Sam that’s true! I totally agree! For me she is one of the best (if not the best) songwriters of all time! She’s phenomenal! Also if you love Taylor just as much as I do I’d be very happy if you’d listen to my cover of ‘hoax’ that I posted few days ago on my channel! Let me know what you think! 😃 Sending my love to you!
i love both of them and you just can’t compare them, mbdtf vs folklore for example just doesn’t work, or graduation vs fearless like they are all different genres and they are all good in their own ways
Reputation is my fave be because it starts out with a lot of power and rage and upset then culminates in a series of really beautiful love songs. It feels like a woman being angry and hurt and chaotic and then she meets someone who grounds her and clears her mind and calms the storm. It's great
Why is everybody saying it’s obvious he doesn’t like Reputation, the singles alone are absolutely horrid, it’s not hard to believe he’d have it dead last, this is a ranking list after all.
Ikr?! I feel like I've written a million comments trying to tell people to chill or apologizing to people that might have checked out TS music but got freaked out by all the defensive fans. He doesn't dislike Rep because he's a Kanye fan, he dislikes Rep because the production is terrible. Even if you like it, you shouldn't be so mad at people for very respectfully stating that they don't like something. Oh, they aren't getting the full picture? Maybe that's because they're totally new to this! (and because the full picture doesn't save Rep from being painfully mediocre, even if it was a great comeback)

You forgot the fact that Taylor was proven right
lol i agree he went pretty well with the history of the taylor kanye feud and conveniently left out the part where taylor was proven right 😂
Cause she didnt, kim only said that kanye did actually call her and that is abv TRUE, while TS team was making it seem as if the call never happened, as soon as the first video leaked, she switched to aw its the "i made that bitch famous" line that i didnt approve, when she clearly told him in the SECOND leaked video, do whatever u think is best.
YEAH,LIKE WTF DUDE
“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single “Famous” on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic massage. Taylor was never aware of the actual lyric, “I made that bitch famous””
And a statement from me. How is Taylor’s team able to cover “the untruth statement” up when thousands of news, magazines and accounts tweeted about the statement above. Comprehension is needed.
Listen I get what you’re saying about 1989 but Style and Wildest Dreams alone make that one of the best pop albums of all time
The Money Store by Death Grips is the best pop album of all time
Don't forget Blank Space!
@@mr.moodle8836 Exactly, Blank space has it all: it is catchy and it's also an amazing song.
@@alanuzcategui2591 1989 is the most awarded album pop album of all time including aoty in Grammy. And it's one of the best selling album
Blank Space, Style, Wildest Dreams, all 3 are among the best hits of the 2010s PERIOD.

I won’t let you say reputation is a bad album. She literally rose from the ashes with it.
Bautista
Period.
True
I love reputation!!!
100% agree!
folklore13 that’s what I though. none Taylor Swift fan wouldn’t understand reputation because they were there when she was bullied back in 2016.

It’s kinda like Kanye’s graduation. Some of his best tracks and some of his absolute worst.
Yeah I agree, and by the end of it, honestly to me everything was starting to blend together only to be suddenly jolted away with this complete 180 in sounds then disappointed by that same blend afterward

@@mic-shellcrackson3800 TRUE.
Oh this my personal rankings of her discography FOLKLORE > RED > speaknow >lover> Reputation > 1989 > fearless = Taylorswift
yes... folkore is lyrically and sonically a masterpiece and i agre Reputaion >1989
This is my literal ranking lol
I disagree. Read this bit below:
“It's all the different ways that you have to say goodbye to someone," Swift told Billboard about the concept for the album, adding,
“Every different kind of missing someone, every kind of loss - it all sounds different to me."
When the album came out, critics' main gripe was that it wasn't "sonically cohesive." With all due respect to those critics, they missed the point completely.
Goodbyes are never the same.
folklore is a great album, but for me it’s too soft, like way too soft
@@sheakrausz4033 it's not for everybody, but i think that album is necessary to her carreer
Michael Valverde N
Yeah. I pretty sure Taylor described it as finding love through chaos. Or something like that. I think it’s a great album
it’s not even all about kanye west, it’s also about how at that point the media changed their perception of her from her dating life and she talks about how it is to have the whole world hate on you.
Swifties need to understand that Reputation was for them, not the general public. It's a fan favorite for a reason because without experiencing it during its time, it loses much of it's meaning, and that's fine. Let it be a fan favorite.
I've never thought about it like this, but I think you're right. Rep can really only be fully appreciated with the proper context.
Nevertheless, he could have done a little more research if he was gonna do a reaction video to her albums. Or at least, as a Kanye fan, see the whole picture and try to understand it
Truth has just been spoken!
Haha.
Yes MAATHP is my fav on lover besides daylight
I wouldn’t call her a lyrical genius but she is a solid songwriter certainly.

You will understand reputation if you know every meaning about those songs
omfg ur pfp
There is always genius
I know the meaning of every song, I know the context surrounding it too. But, Reputation struggles so much. It has too much ideas, and struggles to bring them in one album, It gets overstuffed and stale. The tracks are musically stale. Almost every track on the album uses the same musical scales and notes. It kinda relies too much on context. I do think it's her weakest album.
But that is the problem, most of the album only gets good when you know the context, and it shouldn’t be that way. Everyone should be able to enjoy it even without the context
your pfp is amazing
I personally really like repuation. For me it would probably be my 2nd or 3rd favorite TS album. But totally agree with what you said about the other albums.

1. folklore
2. reputation
3. Speak Now
4. Lover
5. 1989
6. Red
7. Fearless
8. Taylor Swift
I know it seems not making sense cuz reputation, folklore and Speak Now are totally different but I just love everything she does and I don't have a favorite gender.

@Luis Felipe Duarte This comment deserves way more likes 👏
Taylor Swift is an amazing artist, just because she's beefing another one of my favorites will never undermine that.
i’ve loved taylor since i was a child so maybe it’s just nostalgia- but i think she gets massively overlooked as a songwriter. she’s written some beautiful songs
Style is one of my all-time favorite pop songs.
I love how the new taylor album finally got people that wouldn't usually listen to her to finally give her a chance because of that stupid celebrity beef that doesn't actually affect any of us and resulted the worst music from both of the respective artists
The way you talked about 1989 but didn't said a word about Clean and Out of tge woods

It honestly blows my mind when i sit down and think about how much music Taylor has put out that’s consistently great
I will say Red has never been my absolute favorite Taylor Swift album (that has been tossed around between Speak Now, Folklore, and Evermore a lot), but seeing fresh eyes analyzing it really makes me appreciate what it does
To Kanye fans , we swifties actually know and agree that Kanye's album r masterpiece and great producer but we dislike him bcos of his personality and the main reason we not liking him is 2009 and 2016 incident.
@Sam I don't understand why everyone thinks he's one of the worst people ever. He's not Hitler. He's not a criminal. He's done a lot of good stuff like building shelters for homeless and freeing innocent people from jail. I absolutely love all her albums but for me:
1. Folklore and reputation
2. 1989 and Lover
3. Red, Fearless and Speak
Now
4. Taylor Swift
I absolutely adore each one of them
First I'm glad that you got over your preconceptions about her and did a dive in her complete discography.
My ranking is the following
1. Folklore
2. Red (mostly for All too well and the hit singles)
3. Reputation (because yes, to me it works, it's mature unapologetic and has a lot of subtle meanings)
4.1989 Blank space, New Romantics Bad Blood. Top notch
5. Speak now
6. Fearless (I fell in love with her because of Love story and You belong with me but it has its up and downs)
7. Lover (songs like Me, death by a thousand cuts, it's nice to have a friend are dragging this down even if Lover is up there with All too well for me)
7 ex aequo. Taylor Swift. (I love teardrops on my guitar and picture to burn so for me it's not the last but and I still like it a lot)
So, given my opinion it's obvious I don't agree on your take on Reputation, the moodiness, the lyricism the production of that album, the almost effortless change in styles without feeling like a different singer.

7. TLOP: Kanye continues starts to reflect again on his religion, friends, family, himself, and how the media portrays him, and his controversial past
8. Ye: Kanye gets diagnosed with Bi-Polar Syndrome and delves into his mental health. He talks about his mistakes and how its effected his household . this is also the last album he would swear on and it be uncensored
9. JIK: Kanye fully devotes himself to christ making a true gospel album however doing it haphazardly. He talks about his devotion to christ and thats most of it.

Taylor beats every Kanye album
No just no
i love both of them and you just can’t compare them, mbdtf vs folklore for example just doesn’t work, or graduation vs fearless like they are all different genres and they are all good in their own ways
folklore was the first album i heard from her and it's already one of my favorite albums of 2020.
my favourite of all time tied with IGOR
I was shoked that he didn't like reputation
honestly its my favourite Taylor Swift album😂😂😂
Reputation is my fave be because it starts out with a lot of power and rage and upset then culminates in a series of really beautiful love songs. It feels like a woman being angry and hurt and chaotic and then she meets someone who grounds her and clears her mind and calms the storm. It's great
That Let it Rock shoutout sent me... haven't laughed out loud like that while sitting alone in as long as I can remember
