Will you setup a password on the Switch?
Note: Turning off the password to play a game is as simple as hitting the orange Parental Controls button on the top of your home menu! You see me do it at the very end :)

@@SuperHeroStoriesUnlimited It is a console directed toward a demographic of children, and has some games with high age ratings. The reason a switch would need parental controls is the same reason literally any console would need parental controls you melon.

@@MintsyMilky nope, you cant. Time and date switching is entirely turned off if ya have parental controls, you can only use it when theres no app linked

After my 4 year old son keeps going on my switch when his older sister and my son both have their own switch, this is a must. He went on my switch today which I was playing Zelda BoTW and he pretty much deleted a bunch of important things and saved it. I was going to get mad but then remembered that it’s just a game and I can rebuild. Thank the lord for parental lock

Personally, my family only uses the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls to limit how much time my little brother can spend on the console and we also do the same thing with Xbox Family Settings (Xbox One & Xbox Series X).
My biggest takeaway from nintendo handhelds are that they usually don't have a set password,so someone could just steal it from you and play all your games,that's how I lost my 3ds
Yes it's completely boneheaded since its a portable device yet can't be locked like a smart phone or tablet.
But it does tho... the switch has parental controls just activate it if you want to have a password to play any of your switch games

Parental controls will turn off manually setting your time on your switch, so if you time travel in acnh, beware!

By chance can this work to keep a kid from messing with the settings? Bought a switch for my nephew but he always goes into the settings and messes with things like the language and inverting colors. He’s only 5 and is gonna end up doing something he can’t reverse since he doesn’t really know what he’s doing.

It does not work well with the NES SNES N64 GB GBA and Sega Genesis Virtual Console apps

Is there not a way I can require a PIN code just for the main account? Both my kids have their own profiles but my youngest sometimes gets on my game saves and screws them up. I dont want to make them put in a PIN to use their accounts, only to access mine if that makes sense

I tried this and it didn't work. It only sets the pin for the parent controls and doesn't actually prompt me before playing a game
