A bicycle is also a good item to have 😊
Had one, had to hawk it in a pinch months back, and the car carrier. 🤦🏻♂️lol thanks for watching-Kenny
I am seriously thinking about it. Just to live in my PAID OFF HOUSE I spend almost 3k a month. No way I can retire and live here since I will only have SS. I am finishing up a 2 year contract here in SWFL, I have 10 months left. I will be able to save a buttload. I have a bed platform already made but I need something bigger. Too difficult to climb in and out of my SUV. I have a few other things put aside for the life. I don't like dogs so I have some other sort of PP. I am glad you have done this!! I don't like the 'big' channels since at that point they start putting out videos that are just fluff and no good info. They do reviews, and ads or 'sponsorships' in the middle of the video which I usually quit watching at that point. I haven't found one yet with a lot of subs that don't do it. And I like the no editing videos!! Mine are not edited, but that is because I have no idea how to do it.. LOL. Seriously following your travels here since I need to know where to go to stay out of the horrible heat when I get out there. What state is your official residency? I am in Florida and will keep it as mine since I have family here. No need for mail, but I want the familiarity of the tax, license, registration for my vehicle.
@@anniesshenanigans3815 I would take the equity from the house and totally downsize. But that’s me. You can buy a chunk of land and a prefabricated house, set it up for off grid living, then your outgoing bills should be substantially less. That could be a home base for you while you focus on van life. It’s an idea but I would try to keep your home if you own it. It’s a total life change and living this way is not for everyone. Just make sure it’s something you can and want to do. A total mental commitment has to be made. You have a ton of options for yourself if your home is paid off!
Getting ready to head out and just do it. Started working on it during the winter. I've had it with being stuck in a tiny apartment. I'm ready to see the country. I'm 66. Next stop...looking for a dog....
Congratulations on making the move! Best thing I ever did and I think you will agree. Thanks for watching and stay in touch- Kenny
@@ARealLiveNomad Just subbed, so I will.
@@BrknVeel I appreciate the sub. Thanks!
I think people would be interested in seeing your cooking setup, just a thought.
@@perrymorse4390 I will do a video on that topic very soon. Most likely early next week. Thanks for the idea, I will incorporate it into the content! 👍- Kenny
@@ARealLiveNomad I follow several other channels and from watching the responses they get, posts related to food shopping, storage and cooking seem to get a lot of interest and interaction, which would help your channel grow.
I think the tip of owning your own car/van is important. I bought my mini van a few weeks ago and made sure it was paid off. Monthly payments would have been a real pain to keep up with whilst trying to create an entirely new lifestyle 😅
Thanks for watching!
Good video. Let's see your setup 👍
Coming soon!
Great video... you sound like me 😂 I tell you I'd rather be in the state forest and sleeping in a parking lot😮 it's scarier in the parking lot that it is in the forest😂😢 2 years in 👍 Take Care 😘
Yes, the 2 legged bears are the ones to watch! Thanks for watching!
Instead of doing what you did I chose to buy an acre and a trailer and I moved off grid with my dogs. It's been rough 😂. Good video dude 🇨🇦
Thanks for watching! Enjoy the process.
@@ARealLiveNomad how long before you went on the road did you decide to do this?
@@MaritimeUnprepared it was a hobby up until 2024, I had an old Hyundai Santa Fe I did a no build build with. That was back in 2022. Some tough economic times hit me the past year and I was forced out of my home. It gave me an opportunity in life to either go get another place or take a shot on nomad life. The channel I decided to start recently because I want to share with some people my ideas if they happen to fall on hard times and are looking for an inexpensive option.
@@ARealLiveNomad I did the same thing as a result of economic problems I bought an acre of land and an old travel trailer to live in. I'm now off grid for 3 months. It takes a lot of ballz to do this, and you have my respect buddy 👍
@@MaritimeUnprepared I appreciate you. Best of luck with the acre and the trailer. I was looking at that as an option but just didn’t have the wallet! New video just dropped, check it out!
Seeing any Sasquatch out there? :)
Not yet
Could see this as a fiscal necessity for me down the road so to speak but the loneliness would kill me.
Thanks for watching!
The Nomad life brings with it a whole community of like minded people. I've lived as a nomad for 7 yrs. Being alone is a choice as much as being around with people.
@@bogopuar7463 I enjoy it very much. I moved a lot of pieces of my life around to set it all up this way and it took a little time to get out here. Thanks for watching the videos!- Kenny
Okay I have a couple questions.
Just by looking at your videos it seems like you've only been doing this for 3 or 4 weeks now?
How do you get this $800 a month income that you say everyone should have?
I’ve been out in total 5 months. Remote work, uber/delivery, pension draw, social security, savings, selling off items you no longer use or need.
I live as a nomad full-time. My income is from social security and occasional side hustle. The sugar beet harvest in North Dakota will pay around $4000 if you start on the first day of the harvest and complete the harvest. Google "North Dakota Sugar beet harvest. While doing the harvest I met a farmer that i worked for helping with the potato harvest as well. Almost $9000 for both. I have detailed boats in marinas in Florida. It's a great life! BTW I am in my mid 60's. Age is not a factor. Health might be for some, but those that really desire freedom usually make it work.
@@bogopuar7463 wow! That’s a lot of money, over 3 months of what I live on. How long does the season last? Thanks for the input, a lot of us out here can use a few extra dollars. Happy 4th of July- Kenny
