I've had a pre-lit tree forever until this year. We had a terrible flood in Michigan in May and I lost EVERY Christmas decoration and 3 trees. Yesterday, a company in my town gave us flood victims a new tree and some lights. I was in tears picking it up as last month it hit me I wouldn't be decorating and putting a tree up and here I am with a beautiful 7 1/2 foot new tree. I am so blessed to have come across this video! This year my tree will only have lights but it's going to be beautiful and no one will notice because it's going to shine brightly!! Thank you for the helpful video! Merry Christmas to ALL! 🎄 🎅 🎄
Oh Jacki. What a story. I'm so sorry for what you've lost, but I am smiling so huge reading about your shining tree for this year! Christmas magic right there. It's going to be a gorgeous tree and a beautiful Christmas! I'm so happy I could help in a small way. Merry Christmas to you!!
Thanks for your video…I reuin my Christmas lights from last year because I didn’t know how to take them off or I was just being lazy.I had to have my sister help me to put them on..I never put Christmas tree lights in because I never had my own Christmas tree before…So I was searching on UA-cam on how to put Christmas tree lights on..And that’s how I found you…I really love you’re personality…Happy Holidays to you and your family…
I don't do much with my front door, because we get wind and everything flies everywhere and my wreath sounds like someone is knocking on my door 😆 sorry I can't be more help!
@@VeryMerryKim U make a very good point - I'm in the Highlands of Scotland and didn't even consider the weather!! I better just go out and buy more trees for inside instead 🤣
@@jenmcpherson253 My living room looks like a forest 😆 And you could still decorate outside, just weigh it down or secure it super well. (I don't have the energy to do that, so I just add more trees inside, haha!)
I like the vertical trick. NOW I have to take 7 strings of lights off and start over because my zig zag method didn't turn out right. I mix colored and white strings with flashing and solid light strings. I want to try that hanger tip so it will be worth it. Have a great Christmas!! 🙂
🎄 I'm so grateful for your channel 🙂. It gives a few different ways to distribute your lights ✨️ thru-out your tree. This will be my 1st year after over 7+ years of a tabletop tree (bcuz it's the only size that would fit properly in the Studio Apartment that I used-to live in). I'm blessed enough to have moved to an apartment with rooms big enough & high enough to have a 7' foot high tree.
I am SOOO GLAD I have found your video! I am about to put our tree up with my girls and was wondering how nicely I can put the lights on it!!! Thank you flower ❤
The humor here is phenomenal lol. Came for the lights, stayed for the humor. I dig the options as well. This is very helpful because I'm going to string some lights and I haven't done this since I was a kid,
Thank you so much! You made my day! And don't stress over it. Once all your cool stuff is on the tree, any issues with lights won't be noticed. And you probably won't have issues. I believe in you!
Best video I’ve seen so far. I’ve never put on my own lights and I was legitimately worried I would mess up the tree, but it looks easy enough. I’m going to try the third way! Thank you!!
You're so welcome! Just remember it doesn't have to be perfect. Once you have all your ornaments and things on, any "issues" with the lights won't be noticed, and you can always tweak them! You're going to do great!
Thoroughly enjoyed your video … and nice to know, this “old bag” (that being me 😵💫) is still able to learn! I found your gestures and facial expressions especially entertaining. Thank you for providing a great tutorial with a light note. 😊👍🐿
Hi Kim, I'm loving your channel, you make me giggle and teach me things! Have you ever put larger bulbs like C-7's on an indoor tree? Which method do you think would be best? Thank you so much, and Merry on Christmas Sister!
I personally have not, but I've seen some trees with the bigger bulbs and they look so cool! I think the triangle method (I think it's method number 2?) would be best since the bulbs take up so much extra space. Hope that helps!
The look whole winding & in winding🤣🤣Yup, looks about right! Lights make all the difference. My motto re that is: there is no such thing as too many lights on a tree. And yes, cords are ugly.
They're kind of old, so I don't remember where I got those, but it's safe to assume Walmart, Big Lots, or Target. Just make sure they have different "modes". You can also look up reviews online to make sure they twinkle at the speed you want.
I love your sense of humor. Great idea and I really like the vertical idea! Is there such a thing as too many lights? New fan here and I look forward to learning more.
Sorry it took me so long to reply! UA-cam hid your comment. But I found it! I think the only time there are too many lights is when you can't hide away the cords. So you end up with lots of cords everywhere. Which doesn't look great and makes decorating difficult. Other than that, go to town!
Oh so helpful and funny. My husband used to put the lights on our tree and it was painful perfectionism. One year he actually wired the strands to the branches so the wires wouldn't show. Guess who had to remove all that overachieving..ugh.
The third method, is this easier to do in sections? Like put them on the bottom, add the middle and cover and then the top? I bought a new tree and it’s absolutely huge! I’m staring at it and haven’t a clue where to start 🤣
Absolutely! Going section by section will make it easier. Fluff that way too. Put on the bottom, fluff it, then light it. Then add the middle and repeat. Congratulations on your new tree! That's so fun!!
@@VeryMerryKim thank you for your advice. It’s the sort of tree I’ve wanted for years, but it was always out of my budget. I’ve been making my own decorations for it, but I put it up and got overwhelmed 🤣
You can use any kind you like. The ones I used I've used for a few years so I can't link them. If you want ones the blink/twinkle, just make sure you buy lights that have different modes.
I moved. We didn't bring any furniture with us. But I've been so busy with videos and homeschooling my kiddo, I haven't been able to get furniture. But I decorated your tree and the video should be up around the 23rd

Family Dollar has good price lights, so does Big Lots. Better prices than Wally world.
I only buy lights after xmas when they are 75% off.
That is a VERY good idea. Especially if you're buying LED lights.

can you suggest a way for lighting a tree with 100 lights
If you only have a strand of 100 lights, do it the first way. Vertical up and down. It'll help you get the most light with so few bulbs.
How many feet this X-mass tree
I believe this is a 6 foot tree
