Nice to see the new cort guitar skeptic channel.
Now you got pinned😆
Rest in peace bro, and thank you for all your work.
did someone say “Cort”...ummm...yeah!!
Awesome Mike. I am glad to see Cort getting some love.
Great to see you’re well, brother!!
🐰❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
Wassup... DUDE! 😎🎸🎹🐦🤘
@@MusicTherapyLaz Laz!! 😇💜🤘
I know you are a big fan buddy and I have been hoping to cover Cort guitars for some time for you enjoy!
One year owning this guitar, plays, feels and sounds fantastic pure quality for a really good price.
Great stuff
I own this guitar for almost 2 years. I've always been a Stratocaster guy. This guitar is my favorite guitar. The pickups are stunning.
The fretlevelling is PERFECT.
The neck is (nice) fat !
I can' t believe this.
It's a great guitar!
I played a Cort acoustic a few years back and was really surprised at how good it sounded.
Check out my brother Jack the rabbit he plays an acoustic from them and makes it sing
Thanks mike for all the info ,
I was wondering bout um,every time I saw one,have a great weekend
That's my pleasure buddy and have yourself a great weekend too
Always been a big fan of Cort. My first guitar was a Cort Strat copy. Great guitar. Ended up playing on it for fifteen years.
Nice mate! I've tried a few in shops etc and found them to be very nice guitars.
I have four Cort guitars including a Cr250 and a x700 which has amazing spec and sounds amazing.Great video bud!.
Thanks brother I am so glad that you enjoyed it
WOW that looks like a very nice guitar. Beautiful finish as well. I like the block inlays. Beautiful all around.
Yep I have been blown away by it as well
That Cort factory has a great reputation! I picked up an used Cort strat copy for $50, after a cleaning and setup it blows away much more expensive models! The quality is there just not the big name!I Glad they are getting some love! Peace from the states, have a great time in Germany, and yes please more Cort!!!
Thanks so much buddy I hope to cover many more cort guitars in the future
I recently bought a Cort acoustic for my son on his birthday. I took him to the store and he tried several guitars before falling in love with the Cort. It has a very nice satin finish, sounds very good, stays in tune and he picks it up and plays it. I think it was right around $150. Very nice guitar for the money I thought.
That's awesome the main thing is that he plays it which is great
@@Chinaguitarsceptic exactly. I smile every time I hear him picking away for ten minutes after he walked by it for some other reason. I also highly recommend guitar stands. Easy access and in view
I like Cort guitars I have 2018 ltd m600 in green.
And a big 2017 bass in tobacco burst.
Both lovely guitar's to play.
On the head of the guitar you showed has the same silk screen logo as Harley Benton
Very similar if not identical mate. Glad you enjoy your cort guitars, I'm becoming a fan!
Very "honest" looking guitar. Many budget manufacturers would put a photo-flame finish on, or a wafer thin flame maple veneer, to give it that faux high end look. I love the way this guitar is understated in its looks.
Yes me too mate
That's amazing ! I have the CR 200 (Gold top) and it's the best guitar in my small collection. Dig it \m/
Cool
congrats man!! lovely guitar!!!!
Sadly I don't get to keep it but it is a beautiful guitar
Just picked up on of these brand new from absolute music for £339 delivered and I can't wait merry Christmas to me
Happy holidays!
@@Chinaguitarsceptic yeah I think I must have been a good boy this year with all the toys
great video! i'm looking forward to the play test! cort has always built quality stuff! safe travels!
Thanks buddy I am home safe and looking forward to making the playing demo of this too
Nice, the satin finish is similar to a LP tribute but the sharp pointy cutaway triggers my OCD Lol. Only a Gibson (maybe Epiphone) is good enough!
I agree but I actually like the sharper cut away
Looking cute in that thumbnail!
Hahaha love you brother and miss you!
Really looking forward to hearing those EMG pickups. Gorgeous guitar and fair price.
I'm looking forward to doing the tone test for you as these pickups do sound very nice and actually quite Powerful
very cool looking guitar! I've seen their acoustics are pretty nice too. by the prices going up one wold assume the quality is too. have a great weekend brother!
I am amazed at the quality of both the acoustics and they're electrics and I guess that is why why the price is creeping up. Have a fabulous weekend too brother
been trying to find a review on this guitar and finnaly yours when will you do sound test on this guitar? could not a clean tone test hopefully you will do on soon cheers m8
I've recorded a track already Ann's need to do the sound test work soon. It takes a day to do so hopefully someone this week for release next?
CGS cant wait🤘
8 lb is pretty light weight for a Les Paul type guitar. I notice the body isn't as thick as a Gibbo's so maybe that's where they've saved the weight.
Yes it's a little thinner than the 2 in standard of of Gibson guitars and actually I prefer a slightly thinner body like the Les Paul Junior
That guitar looks absolutely stunning.
It is pretty sweet isn't it!
Very nice. Make mine gloss and chrome pickup covers and change cream covers on back to black. There you go! Perfect.
And perhaps 7 lbs instead of 8.
If you spec it I'm sure they can make it my friend
Hi Mike I'm sure I can see a scarf in the neck, do you think they could/should give a one piece neck at this price point?
You can indeed however this is a strengthening joint and not a bad thing. The scarf joints help the grain of the wood to act in their strongest plane. I certainly don't see it as as a cut corner or sign of lesser workmanship or value mate.
@@Chinaguitarsceptic yeah ok but i think it would be better up at the truss rod access point but i just thought it would be a nice touch for a great company like cort to give us a one piece neck ps i do like the guitar!
Very true mate 😊👍
A beauty Mike. I love the finish. I do like the pickups but I have never tried active. Nothing against the idea just never have. The poker chip I personally like but not a deal breaker by any means. With our without I could do now..... Here's where I get in trouble though as I like the LP style more with the pickguard. Yup.... Can't wait for the sounds.
Oh you know that we differ on the pickguard issue but all things about guitars are subjective for my friend and I respect that many people love the pickguard on Les Paul's
@@Chinaguitarsceptic Totally agree with the respect. And I don't dislike it by no means just like better. Big difference for sure. I popped over to that Cort site and darn your time..... All I will say is Classic TC. To my luck I have a dealer about 2 miles from my house!!! Darn your time!!! Later brother!
Lol sorry if I've given you GAS
Like the look Mike, reminds me of my 70s law suit Ibanez. Cort has some sandblasted models I would love to check out. I think they also build for PRS now.
Wow I will look into that PRS link but it would not surprise me in the least cheers brother
@@Chinaguitarsceptic I'm pretty sure the new SE hollowbody ii piezo is made by Cort in China. Still debating a $1500 made in China guitar 🙄
Oh ok yes they are definitely made in China I thought you were suggesting South Korea. I forgot that cor-tek are part of cort guitars.
"Listen! Listen to that sustain! Hear it?......Well, you would - though - if it were playing! Aaaaaaaaah - you can go and have a bite - aaaaaah - and you'll still be hearin' that one!"
Love the Spinal Tap reference
Cort make some really excellent acoustics and they sound superb, that looks a tidy guitar, unusual colour, nice
I love the Aesthetics of this guitar and I think you will enjoy the sound test when I am able to do that as well
Hey man, I'm very tempted to get this guitar for my birthday. I mainly play with a Classic 60 Stratocaster with 7.25 inch radius neck and it's fairly chunky and kind of shredder unfriendly. Do you think the neck on this Cort is more suitable for soloing and metal?
I think you will like it mate. I would always try before you buy if you can. I like quite a chunky neck but this was not the biggest and probably would be fine
Bet that would be fun to play! Looks vintage :)
Definitely lots and lots of fun to play
Unboxing! Like Christmas! (Drum roll)
You know it!
Woooooooo!
Lol
I’ve got the cr150 and it’s beautiful! Also got a cort sfx 6r acoustic and it mixes with the best.. love cort!
They are really nice guitars mate
@@Chinaguitarsceptic great to see this smaller Korean brand get some cudos.
They've earned it brother
Nice! They are better than standard Epiphones?
Wow! I love the Epiphone
Ohhh look at the heel joint...
That's a deal maker for me...
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Was for me
Man, that looks freakin nice. Almost an HB headstock inlay
Yes the inlay is very similar to the Harley Benton if not identical
Awesome guitar unboxing my friend. Have a great weekend.
Thank you so much and have a great weekend yourself my friend
If it sounds as good as it looks its going on my christmas wish list .
Stand by Santa
Hey Mike...I think my buddy Jack the Rabbit is a big fan is those Cort guitars... but the acoustuc ones more particularly... very nice! 😎🎸🎹🐦🤘
Cool!
Matt "guitar" murphy had a cort signature model too!
Awesome trivia! I believe he played it in BB 2000. I could be wrong!!
Well cool I've seen him live
I used to check these out on thomann a lot, they looked good as does this one, looks like a decent spec also, looking forward to hearing it, btw the design on the headstock is identical to the Harley Benton single cut headstock design, on your lemon burst anyway...
The old Brownsville guitar as well
Oh well great spot mate thanks very much
Would rather have one of these over any authentic guitar
Me too. Wait until you hear it.
hey man i need your help im new to electric guitar and i want to buy one my choice right now is the cort cr250 or the cort cr300 i see online people praising the cr300 pickup for being good the thing is i kinda like the 250 finish more alot of people say i need to try them in person but because of sosial distancing the guitar store only accept delivery so what would you buy if you are in my position
ps : the price diffrent is only 20ish dollar
the amp that im planning to buy is the boss katana mk2 and i mostly gonna play rock or clean
I have only played the 300 extensively and all I can say is it's great!
CGS oh yea does the cr300 have push pull knob?
No
very good model!
In all honesty, that’s a beautiful guitar.
She is a beauty
Thanks 👍👍
You're most welcome brother
Nice looking guitar! It has that perfect nuance and subtlety in it. The EMG pickup looks a bit weird on a les paul
though..
Fair enough!
I love cort quality, price, & sounds
Very good value mate.
Nice axe. Frank USED to endorse CARVIN! (Kiesel)
Yes and I wonder what made him want to jump ship?
@@Chinaguitarsceptic Dey made him an offah he couldn't refuse like!
hello man, what country is this cort guitar made in?
Indonesia
Thought you’re not meant to send guitars tuned up, meant to slack the strings off.
Actually I think that's pretty much a myth and it doesn't cause any issue to ship a guitar in tune if it is well packaged
Cort makes almost all the big brands guitars that come from Korea, China and indonesia. Yes that includes Epiphone, amongst many others. So Cort guitars are really amazing. And i agree with Mike that Cort is doing their homework. Mike congrats as usual. Awesome video my friend.
Thank you so much brother for the kind words and support and I am glad that at my videos are hitting the Mark with you
I am torn between this and the ESP LTD EC 256, any suggestions?
I've not tried the esp sorry but this was great
Terrific!
Thank you.
@@Chinaguitarsceptic Being owner of 3 Cort guitars (G-Custom, M600, X-6), this guitar is definitely going to be my next purchase (although it is hard to find). I hope in your sound test to find out is it possible to achieve the creamy timbre of the neck pickup with these EMGs. Thank you for your vids!
@@stefanchernev4996 I'll do my best brother
@@Chinaguitarsceptic I appreciate your dedication! Be healthy!
You too buddy
Ya when I bought my Gibson les Paul in 2017 my guitar came tuned a half step down
It doesn't matter very much if a guitar is shipped in or close to tune provided that it is properly and safely packaged
looks thinner than a regular LP - what's the weight?
It's 8 pounds buddy
@@Chinaguitarsceptic thanks!
Cort, of course, makes more guitars than Fender or Gibson, by far. They are well-versed.
Note that guitar strings are very often counterfeited along with actual guitars.
So those 'XL' strings may or may not be the real deal. Best to change them out after set-up.
Personally, I really like that finish and color. It's very subjective, no doubt. Thanks for sharing.
I love the finish and colour too but agree it's entirely subjective and I know that it won't be everybody's taste
Its one piece of mahogony guitar?
Set neck but I believe the body and neck are one price each yes.
Love cort, my music store has one and I just need a few more £
It's great to go to the store and check out guitars for yourself and I'm pretty sure that's why you love this guitar if you have tried it
I've cort electric guitars only g series.
Nice what do you think of them?
👍👍👍
👍👍👍
How does it sound after sometime
I'm sure it sounds just as good. I only had it a few weeks to demo and review and then it went back to cort
@@Chinaguitarsceptic ok because i heard on quora that it gets weak
Oh really? Wow, I hadn't heard that. It would be good to hear if anyone else that's experienced similar?
Yeah they said it sounded tinny and muddy
Oh dear, That's not good 😔
I had a cort years ago , got it from a pawn shop it was a st style , Donno what happed to it We used to joke it was stolen and the bloke went to Cort , It was Built Ok tho from what i remember
Lol, I love the story bro.
LOL cheers looks like a great guitar , I will watch the demo later , Thanks
My pleasure mate
Nice guitar! I've been brainwashed to say "I don't need another guitar". Maybe I'll get a bass!!! Muhahaha!!
I don't have a LP-style guitar ever since I unloaded my Chibson (I mean, my "Parsec" guitar).
" You never heard of the Millennium Falcon? It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 PARSECS....." 😉😉😉
Who brainwashed you? My wife asked how many guitars I needed and I told her when I die go and count how many I have and I needed one more more
looks a lot like my brownsville guitar
Sweet buddy
Yes, well I really do not like the dulled down finish that manufacturers call "aged", they're basically matt finish !. The guitar ok apart from that.
OK buddy that's it's absolutely cool but actually one of the things I really like about it it however taste is entirely subjective and I respect yours
This is like an infomercial.
I always do my research.
Active pickups is a turnoff for me. This cements my preference to epiphone les paul standard.
Fair point I prefer passive
Please dont overlook the fact that cort abused its workforce terribly and has never righted that wrong
I was not aware of that and will look into it
If it was a Gibson it would have been out of tune by the time you got it even if it was tuned before they sent it to you.
On a side note - not really a fan of these burst vintage replicas. Lots of times they have a very satiny finish that just makes them look dirty, not "vintage".
😆 authentic though
I think every second guitar I have owned has come from Cort by proxy....ok that's an exaggeration, but a few of them definitely 🙂
Hahaha they do seem to make for everybody don't they
Never understood relic it is like buying jeans with holes. Just find it pretentious.
Hahaha me to brother it's like buying a new car and saying can you put a few dents and scratches in it for me please
Had a Cort guitar many years ago,, but that brand is absolutely tainted for me after the countless workers rights and working conditions scandals.. As a brand, Cort should be long dead. The owners should probably be in prison.
"59 per cent of staff were suspected to have developed diseases from exposure to organic solvents whilst working for low pay under draconian conditions in a windowless factory owned by Cort." - Just one of many.
Oh my goodness I hadn't heard that and if that is still the case then I totally agree with you. I think a lot of working conditions in China have vastly improved along with their economic growth but but it remains to be seen if this is the case with all companies
The Lamb I do not agree at all with bordering on slave labor either...I am not sure when you purchased your guitar or specifically where the Cort you had was made. The reason that I bring that up is because South Korea (where this CR300 is made) is ranked as having the 17th highest minimum wage in the world. So, even if it is assumed that the workers at the Cort factory in South Korea is making only minimum wage, it is safe to say it is a far cry as what you describe. Now, guitars made in China (all brands), would not be surprising if practices as you describe may sadly still exist today.
Cort priced as high as an epiphone...pass! I hate zebra pickups too.
Each To Their Own brother and I respect your you're difference in taste
2 paid GIBSON trolls watched this!
Wouldn't be the first time on my channel
@@Chinaguitarsceptic NO, not at all!
Many industries PAY people to troll their opposition all the time. I know, cos I used to be 1!
