My fav part abt this whole seires is how this isnt a story abt how the weak protag grew some backbone and became the greatest, but its abt a guy who was shunned his whole life, took it like a boss, and then learned how to let people back into his life. He has his struggles and overcomes them with his new friends, AND he can kick ass. Who doesn't love a protag like that?
I also like world trigger for a similar reason. It’s a complete shift on the main protag. In world trigger the mc is weak and stays weak and relies on others and strategies, and this is a similar thing when the protag is so different

I love your take on this anime and thy way you presented its review, windbreaker is truly an experience to behold,,, just one thing though I'm pretty sure sakura and kotoha aren't supposed to be a romantic pair! Could be perceived as one but they've been presented to be friends n I find even that really beautiful considering sakura does consider her as someone who helped him understand himself
Anyway though I LOVE this video sm, down from editting to everything you had to say I hope it gets more people into the anime
SAKURA PERFECTION
Just the first episode alone...I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS ANIME!!! Don't get me wrong, many animes I watch on the first episode, I enjoy right off the bat. But Wind Breaker, REALLLLLYYYY TOOK ME! Especially Sakura! THIS IS MY NEW ANIME OF 2024! And it just got announced season 2 is in the works! I NEED MORE FROM THIS SHOW! If I can't wait too long, I might jump ahead and read the Manga lol Hell, I'm already collecting the merchandise and cosplaying as Sakura soon! WIND BREAKER IS PEAK!!!

I can really relate to Sakura in the sense that when you get cast out so young you feel nothing but anger at the world, but it’s not even like you really are if that makes sense. Idk how to explain it but I get his character so mych

Just cuz the main character is op doesn't mean he's a great character. Your review lacks a lot of core subjects about what makes a good character. I get the point that many characters are given a time to train to become powerful, because this was and is the formula of writing any charcter that the reader would understand, get along and relate to that character, which makes him likeable. Thousands of shows already exist that use this formula, tho this might be boring for you, there are other type of storywritings where the protagonist becomes op in the very beginning. isekai are the examples for this type of writing.
But, this show however, doesn't give you a character introduction or why he is so powerful. No backstory, no relatability, which reminds me of "Bollywood Cinema". Yes, the same movies which are made fun of because the actors are litterally superheroes in every movie, they dont have training, they just are too powerful. This type of writing was popularized in order to provide constant entertainment for the fanbases.
Now, coming to a show of teenage delinquents, a shonen anime, whose major audience are of the same age group, hype and power are a big thing for them. All the shonen anime execute them well. So, what's the problem here?
Well, the presentation and consisitency, which is very important for intro and the long run of the show,
The presentation feels very corny in this anime, even though the protagonist is fine, the way he beats all other npcs was emotionless and meaningless. While writing a fight, we need a protagonist and an antogonist to equate the battleground, but with a lack of antagonist, writers add masses of useless npc enemies who won't even appear again in the show.
Consistency is lacking a lot in the show, where the main character behaves very different from different scenarios as if he were a complete different person. His power was also very inconsistent throughout the story, you can't just add new op side characters to add struggle to the main.
I can see why this anime is getting popular, cuz all the cringe teen are overhyping it, but the story looks bland and the point where its leading is very blur.
tbh every character except of sakura are too generic and boring
like one character to give information (nirei) one overreacting op psycho (choji) and few calm looking characters , a shitty fanboy (i don't remember his name )an op senior to guide the mc and lastly a female character for no reason

I'm sorry but Sakura isn't that likable either.
I read so many manga up until now (both shojo/josei and shonen/seinen) and I've seen so many tsundere characters (both male and female) that it's not even funny anymore. When Sakura was introduced and he showed his tsundere personality onscreen, I was like "Oh, so he's that kinda character... acting all rough on the outside but is actually soft on the inside...". And for some reason, his personality annoyed me. All the flashbacks of reading manga about tsundere MCs started haunting me and that trope ain't my cup of tea anymore. Whenever Sakura yells or hits someone, I can't help but roll my eyes at his attitude. I'm like "Boy, get your sh*t together. You're not even that cute." 😒
Also, not to mention that Baji-looking ass Sugishita bruh... The fact that Wind Breaker's mangaka is a massive fanboy of TokRev and Ken Wakui to the point he created a character who looks similar to Baji (which is Sugishita) and they share the same birthday which is November 3rd 😐
And not only that... the fact that Sugi's intro happened by throwing a punch at MC just like how Baji was properly introduced when he punched Takemichi. Like bruh, be more original!! 😭
The thing is with Choji is that he’s not either of what you said. This is the entire point of the series. To understand that these punks and delinquents are human. Choji is one of the best examples imo. He seems unhinged and insane but you just learn that’s because he’s so hurt on the inside. Once Umemiya helps him grasp that you can see he’s a good guy at heart. He wants to fix things. Make it right. So just saying he’s some op psycho is wildly incorrect. I could tell you others too. Like god

Takemichi got bland and repetitive and wouldn't give up on someone who wasn't worth saving, and Itadori is a better fighter not a better character when it comes to relatability

@@loxione210 That’s the thing about Takemichi, in the beginning he didn’t really care much about people, he was just a nobody in society. But throughout out the storyline, he manages to grow a new mindset even if it means losing or dying. I could go into more details, I know he’s not the best character but just to say he is bland is a bit blind and ignorant.

@@M2sbah Yeah, I know Baji and Sugi are different when it comes to their personalities; I'm smart enough to understand this most basic thing. And I won't have minded this inspiration if Sugi was somewhat interesting and fleshed out like Baji. Baji's just so goated that I don't even know how to feel when I see Sugi. And having the same birthday and the same sort of entry/introduction? that's a bit too much.
