You guys are the perfect team! I love how funny Dom is. 😂It is so interesting to see how a small looking van has such reasonable storage and space! Put a massive smile on my face and some inspiration to do van camping when I go to Japan!
such a cute lil van, hope it treats y'all well!! hoping for safe travels through Japan for you guys, and hope you have fantastic adventures! がんばってね ~~~
I feel like it'd be a squeeze with my gangly 6'3 body, but not impossible. As an avid backpacker and camper, vans like this with so many hidey holes and amenities make me giddy. I'd love another tour when it's been lived in for 3 months detailing what worked and what didn't.
Luckily on one half the passenger seat folds down so there's loads of extra leg space where the futon ends 😄 Us too, love finding little spaces for everything haha, we'll definitely do a follow up at the end! ☺️✨
@@AlwaysAway Perfect. I've never been in that van, but I promise I've slept in MUCH worse. And I promise, a month or two in you'll discover something you missed and it will blow your mind. Happens every time...
I've been dreaming of a solo van holiday through Japan for a long time, and you two have inspired me to make it happen! This van looks perfect. Thanks for sharing, these vlogs are a lot of fun!
I’m actually quite surprised how many accessories the van came with. Japan is so good about anticipating and taking care of things you might not even think you needed. Seems like y’all are having a blast. 😊
Love having the tour of the camper and very impressed with how well it’s packed - obv all future videos done at the camper will need a bed shot, just to see how great that folding always is ;)
The indicator SHOULD be on the right for a right hand drive car, it's just that most of Europe has left hand drive vehicles so they put it on the left, and I'm guessing you haven't driven many British, Japanese, or other vehicles that come from right hand drive nations is all hehe. Interesting though!
Even though they put your items in a bag you can just take them out and use them, me and my husband went 5 years ago and we bought loads and it didn’t matter x
Sharla made me go here! Such a cute little tiny van, gives me hope of maybe get my tall hubby to do it too one day.. 🥰 Have a great trip and I have obviously subbed and liked!
Brilliant channel also, got the editing, music, professionalism, all of it. Perhaps just needs a bit of tightening up, some segments are a bit "yeah we get it now" and then they go on for another three minutes - remember, you can never underestimate how short the attention spans of viewers can be. But that's about it, which is insanely impressive for a new channel. You got this!
Wow! I definitely didn’t know Japan would let tourists drive, which is exciting because I’m moving to Yokohama this December 🤩🤩 Love your videos so far! Thanks for letting us tour with you 😍 You’ve definitely got a new fan here. Can’t wait for the next videos! Cheers 👋🏻 😊
Yeah! You can get an international driving license at home and you can drive on it for a year, or you're able to transfer your license to a Japanese one when you're here! Thanks so much 🥰
@@AlwaysAway That's really cool! Thanks and looking forward to more videos from you! Really glad i managed to discover your channel from watching chris and sharla!
that kei car looks nice. Since there's not bathroom in it, are places to camp for the night with bathrooms easy to find in Japan? Also, what do you use to film thes vlogs? Is it the DJI Osmo pocket (shown in the description)? I've been filming some things as well but with a GoPro and my advice to you is something I try to do (but often fail) is to try to be slower when moving the camera around. It forces us to be a bit more stable.
I was worried about finding bathrooms, but it's been so easy!! They have free 24 hour toilets in kombinis and carparks everywhere, even with heated seats 😂 We use a Sony zv1 for most filming but the DJI osmo pocket for any b roll, because of the gimbal it's so smooth it always comes out great! But the microphone is a bit meh, my stabilization is something I'm working on with the zv1, I realize I'm a bit all over the place 😂😂
New subscriber here after watching Sharla. How tall is Dom??? How much does a van like like this would cost to buy it??? BTW you are more funny than Chris.
Thanks for subbing!! He's 6 foot, and from what I can gather around £30,000 to buy one like this. But we're only renting, for roughly £30 a day :) haha Thankyou ;D
Did you bring all of your stuff over in a duffle bag? We always travel with a suitcase but it looks like there's nowhere for it to hide 😂 How easy was it to find showers?
We brought two big duffel bags and two mini suitcases 😅 but we emptied them completely into the van into packing cubes and left the bags and suitcases in storage at the rental place! And there are 200 yen showers at a lot of michi no eki on the toll roads, we also washed in onsen showers too, I have a tattoo so we only went in quiet ones but if you don’t have a tattoo you’ll find it really easy to wash at the onsen!
Got a discount because it's a long term rental, so it works out around £30/$37 a day! It's really reasonable considering it works as our bed, kitchen and transport! ☺️ Thankyou! 💖
Some of the exits you need the ETC, you won’t be able to exit out of there if you don’t have one! (Annoying af lol)
Ohhh right haha lucky we have one 😅
I admire you making a tour of such a small vehicle be at least 20 minutes long and still be interesting!
Haha we really tried to hit that 20 minute mark 😂 it was such a cool van

So were we! Every inch of the van has been thought through so well haha. Japan knows what it's doing 😂 We really are, even more than we expected! 😄💖
haha.... great sense of humours, how I miss British ppl. Looks a great little car.
This is an ASMR video with all those crunchy noises 😂
😅😅
I hope to visit Japan someday! Nice video!

Thank you Jonas! Love Germany so much, incredible country 🥰
Nice! I can see subtle influences of Chris' (Abroad In Japan) style in your videos, haha.
Keep up the good work!

Were the cooking stove, pillows and blanket provided by the rental company as well or it is something you brought?!
All in there from the rental company Japan Campers! We didn't have to buy anything ☺️

The van a glorified air dryer lol Dom flys into 5th gear after he's been to bed after being awake for 48 hours lol

@@AlwaysAway Great to know! Thank-you!!
I bought a Korean mini van Kia Ray
Greetings from korea 🇰🇷 😊
Oh awesome! They look really similar 😄
@Always Away idk the Kia Ray has a cuter face/front 😅
Those japanese mini vans are too flat on the front lol 😆

Some gates are etc only.
Yeah we finally worked this out when we spent the last month without the ETC card and got stuck a few times aha
