Great video. Stephen, it's so great to have something out-of-the-ordinary in the cooking portion. I never would have thought I'd be interested in trying fish head soup. Keep up the content and stay humble and true!
Really love videoes...always explaining what you're fishing for, equipment and the techniques you use. And another thing you always thank the man upstairs.. God Bless
Love those open water outings its good for soul and that was another calm day out there.. Even its a bit rough and wet its just heaven taking you for a bit of a roller coaster ride that's all (it has to be done). These days I live inland I do not recommend it my favorite lure is a large shallow or top water rapala I also like large jigs large spoons, poppers and I'm loving that squid jig.. As I understand it a fish head soup like that is one of the most delicious and nutritious meals you can make for your self and you batted that out of the park that looked perfect
I think I speak for everyone in here in that I would buy a cookbook from you in a heartbeat! Especially because you could add the perspective of someone that actually catches the fish and understands that different types of fish, thickness of fillets, etc all could affect how you season and cook the dish. Just a thought, I know I’d definitely support it!
First, thanks for your service. Second, I love your videos. I'm new to saltwater fishing since I moved from Denver to Tallahassee. You have taught me tons. If we ever meet, beers are on me brother.
Hey Stephen Your videos are amazing. I really enjoy watching them. I drove to Alabama 3 weeks ago and fished some of the spots you were fishing. What an amazing experience catching the fish like you :) Thank you for sharing
40k views in less than 24hrs! Awesome man. Great vid. Love to watch them on break. Closest I get to saltwater till I move next year and from one fisherman to the next I appreciate the action!
WHAT A GREAT VIDEO! i enjoyed the cooking portion more than the fishing. Thank you for stepping outside of the box several times; using the often discarded head and going a more Eastern/Middle Eastern route with the recipe. Hopefully you have now interested some folks to try something different other than the usual grill, bake or fry. TIGHT LINES!
Ok Bama, I love to watch ya fish, but I need to help ya with your cooking. You did right with allowing the butter to melt in the olive oil, but you’ll find it best to always start with the onions first, they cook the slowest,so wait till they go translucent. Then the garlic, peppers, etc. Hope this helps, big fan, thx for sharing. By the way, beautiful red…🎉🎉🎉 Man, your dish looked amazing, I would eat that meal with you any day. Great job!!!🤟🤟🤟
Finally, the season is open. I watched so many of your videos catching red snappers and returning them. Now you take your sweet time cooking them and make all that time you waited well worth it. Good job!!
I just found you last night, pretty sure from watching Bama Beach Bums you got front and center also and I'm so glad you did! Stayed up till 2am watching and here I am at 9am on the third video, lol. I really enjoy you sharing your trips to the beautiful Gulf and the entire experience. If I was 30 years younger I would come to the waters. lol
Been wanting some of those squidtrex ever since they came out few years ago. One of my local shops had them on sale last week so i stocked up on 110s and 130s. Cant wait to try them inshore and offshore here in Oregon!!!
Cubed sweet potato is good in a coconut based curry. For more citrus flavor you can some bruised lime or satsuma leaves. That recipe will also work just fine with chicken if you dont happen to have any fish handy. My neighborhood Thai place in Phoenix made a very similar dish with chicken.
Great video as always bro I think I speak for all of us when I say your videos are truly something special an we all appreciate you so much. Have a blessed day buddy!
Gulf shore’s was my honey moon location. October 11 1984. You know what was going on at that time in Gulf Shores. Been back several times and always enjoyed the festival. I miss the gulf so much. I might just sell everything and buy a motor home and get back down there to spend my later days of life. Maybe even a houseboat.
Mmm Mmm Mmm, I can smell it all the way here in Pigeon Forge Tn.! My mouth watered every time you said another spice!!! Great selection of really tasty spices and herbs!
That looks really good. I’ve never even tasted anything like that but I sure do want to!!! Thank you for making me hungry. Haha. Seriously thanks for having a great time that we might be inspired to do the same.
Living in SoCal but lived Florida and favorite fish is red snapper. Our "red snapper" is a horrible bottom fish. In Houston recently, saw whole red snapper in grocery store. $40 but it was a special treat. I ocean kayak fish off of La Jolla.
I bought a bunch of these last year from 20-100g. I usually jig in about 20-40meters and have used the small squidtek on shallow reefs but my regular metal jigs always outperform. am I targeting the wrong fish or is my presentation all jacked up, what's the deal. gulf of Thailand and Andaman sea fishing. grouper, snapper, king mackerel, trevalle, queenfish, cobia, etc.....
Glad you had someone to share such a marvelous dish with. I love seeing your mom especially when she joins you on the boat.
Great video. Stephen, it's so great to have something out-of-the-ordinary in the cooking portion. I never would have thought I'd be interested in trying fish head soup. Keep up the content and stay humble and true!
