    Very good point about Donk always being there in time. This was especially visible on CT Overpass against Faze, where Donk had a ton of kills after rotating from A to B whenever Faze were executing there.

    I love seeing these kinds of videos from pros to get some idea of how you think about the game. I remember during EPL you joined the cast one day and discussed delaying utility so that yours displaced them after theirs faded and it had never occurred to me that the LAST utility thrown mattered.
    Also go spank donk in Copenhagen.

    Great content, thanks for the hard work!
    Would love to see your take on peeking close vs far relative to the cover. On a basic level it’s considered that peeking as far from the angle as possible is best since it gives you perspective advantage, but at the same time shoulder peeking is mostly done with your character model close to the wall. When I watch high level players both ways are utilised.
    So I feel that there’s a lot that should be taken into the equation that determines your pathing around the map and the way you peek. Would be great if you could help figuring out those variables!

    • @Boomerangi13
      @Boomerangi13 2 місяці тому +8

      peek closer = your velocity is faster on the enemies' screen. better for aggressive widepeeks (xantarespeek) and like you said, shoulderpeeks. in games there are other variables but for example, it can be good as an entry to be closer to the angle so the defender has to flick wide to kill you, enabling an easier trade from your teammate further in the same angle. same reason on pistol rounds entry players often jump past the angle so the defender's crosshair placement gets offset.

    maybe what i'm about to say is pretty stupid, but what gave me the sensation that donk might be the real deal is the fact that he gives me the same sensation as naturals in sports do. (like messi or federer for example). He's just in the place he has to be, doesn't miss, watching him makes the game look pretty simple, but once you analize the difficult to pull all of that out and the real level of his opponents you start to realize how good he is. He hardly ever pulls something off that seems imposible to do (like simple or zywoo), but he is always right about his decisions and that's the most important thing in this game.
    Great video!

    • @DevinFriske
      @DevinFriske 2 місяці тому +3

      Not stupid, well said. Game appears simple, until you realize the microdecisions which make it possible. Positioning is how FaZe rain makes many of his kills (and stays relevant for such a long time in the eSport).

    It's so sick to have a top tier player explain these micro things like certain strafes or rotations. I'm decent mechanically but the way pros think about the game is on such a different level. Of course I'm sure donk isn't really thinking about what swing to take mid play, he just has it in muscle memory but it so sick to have it explained.

    The primary factor behind Donk's exceptional performance is the humility of his teammates who recognize his skill and willingly create space for him. Their support is crucial, with Donk thriving in an environment where his teammates prioritize team success over personal glory. If Donk were to join a team filled with ego-driven individuals, his performance would likely suffer since his success heavily relies on effective communication and teamwork.
