It's kinda amazing how he can act and direct at the same time. He has to remember his line and everything around him and that level of dedication and focus is just amazing. What a man
@@PiglipsMaximus I mean, yeah but you have to figure out the sets, the lighting, the cameras, other equipments, where people have to go and how the camera should follow, how that works with their lines, what and how they should act all while needing to remember your line and going to the movement you set up is just wild for me.
2:49 Wait she's actually Scottish?! Man it's insane how actors can keep an accent while simultaneously focusing on other aspects of their role during a scene.
It can actually really help with characterisation to use an unnatural accent - many actors even find it easier to play a character with a different accent than their own natural one.

Bryan got to direct one the of the pivotal emotional scenes in the entire series with the Hank vs Walt garage confrontation, written by Peter Gould. And he directed the hell out of that scene. Getting probably the finest acting out of Dean Norris' entire career.
I'm just blown away that Laura Fraser is actually Scottish with a rather thick accent! I never heard even a hint of it watching her performances, amazing.
The way Dean Norris talks about Bryan is eye-opening. Bryan's wisdom and experience in the industry is such an insane resource to have especially as a starting out actor who doesn't have that much experience. It's eye-opening because Bryan is extremely humble about it, too.
Walter is a true villain, not only did he cause so much death and destructions but also took Vince Gilligan's job, bet he doesn't share with him 50-50.
I mean, if anything it’s clips like this that, to me at least, point to the talent of the cast as a whole. In character, I believed in everyone’s hatred of Walt, their fear when it came to anything they did. I felt it even when I wasn’t watching the show, it was palpable!!! And yet, as can be seen, not only are they on cordial terms with him in real life, everyone actually takes it a step further and they all admire him and respect him and honestly love him. Like, the mutual love of everyone in bits like this is just as palpable too. Crazy.
It takes a LOT of understanding and "brain management" to be a competent director. But to be an exemplary one also requires an exemplary TEAM. 🙂 Since nearly everyone on BB and BCS were consummate professionals, it simply allowed Cranston to yield awesome results. 🙂
I wonder how overwhelming it is dealing with that much at once all the time, and then also trying to be successful and creatively fulfilled on top of that
The scene where he has a knife in his hand and Jr on the phone with the police, you can see the zoom out on the second “we’re a family” you instantly understand that it’s only hitting him then what he’s turned into and how much he lied to himself, all in subtle and intricate moments Dean is talking about
