The movie is full of inaccurate information. In reality Preston Tucker was grifter. The movie tried to make him into some kind of victim. The only victims in the Tucker story were the many people he swindled.
The movie is pure Hollywood fiction. It tries to make Preston Tucker into something of a heroic victim. In reality he was a con-man of the highest order, a victim of his own greed.
rover made a turbine car before chrysler . figured out it had much the same problems and didn't produce more than the 2 or 3 prototypes . there is still some film of one
Some of the info in this video is incorrect. The Chrysler Turbine in development was given a secondary heat exchanger to reduce exhaust temperatures and increase efficiency making the car's performance similar to a 318 V-8. No one ever got their ankles burned by a Chrysler Turbine.

There's a great movie on Tucker starring Jeff Bridges.😮

Yes ,(the man and his dream)
Tucker also introduced seat belts
And disc brakes. Dude was way before his time, would have cost the big three a lot of money to catch up
Tucker did NOT introduce seat belts.
In case of an accident you were supposed to duck down into a sort of reinforced foot well...real safe.

Very nice video thanks
I wish tucker kept at it they were innovative for their time, my pops said they were one of the best cars back then
The AMX-3 is a great looking car i myself would have bought one except I was 9 years old
Computer generated narration with mispronunciation and incorrect inflections is pretty funny.
You mean you don't pronounce MPH as a word?
As funny as these cars are "secret"
Fascinating
The Chrysler Turbine was shown at the '64 World's Fair.
As a young boy I saw a Chrysler turbine car driving down the road.
And also the first electric car was in 1888 called the flocken elektrowagen

HAVEN'T YOU HEARD OF ANTI-SHAKING PICTURE SOFTWARE?
Can't be "secret" if we already know them.
The Tucker 48 IS NOT the Tucker Torpedo, that is a different car !!
I hate to be pedantic but I only count 4 cars. AMX/3, Kaiser Darrin, GM EV1, and Chrysler's Turbine.
