I've been serious about detailing and maintaining my car for years, I realized that car products can directly be used with guitar gear. If you think about it a paint/clearcoat finish on a guitar can be maintained with the same products you use on your car. And I also user Mothers VLR for the tolex. I'd never spend money paying for tiny bottles of guitar branded cleaning supplies. It makes no sense. YMMV, it's worked great for me and it's something I'll continue doing. I'm quite anal about keeping my car clean and that is also how I feel about my guitar gear.
Dear Pat, thanks for your great advice. Just got a Peavey Bandit 112 and needed something like your cleaning proposal. Now the big question: What product would you recommend to be used as a Tolex conditioner? I really don't want to use ArmorAll, it's too greasy. Thxs and kind regards from Mexico, amigo!

Raul the Meguires product that I mentioned in the video also has conditioner. It was originally formulated for convertible tops. Thank you!
Did you learn this over on Commerce Avenue?
I did while I was helping put tar on the roof
Soap and water?
Wouldn’t recommend it, but sure!
