I’m not a professional pilot, so I could be wrong. But I’m pretty sure separation requirements are much smaller around controlled airports. I believe that would be class B, C and D airspace. I think all that is required, is for the tower controller to have visual separation of the aircraft. Once in the air, I think it’s 3 miles of separation where radar is available. And Atlanta would definitely have ground-based radar. So, if you think about it, the plane ahead of us was probably already more than 3 miles away from us, by the time we started our takeoff roll. Atlanta has long runways, and it was already at least a mile away from us as we were pulling on to the runway. I imagine it was at least 2 miles away from us by the time our flight even throttled up. And by the time we were airborne it and probably already gotten 4 or 5 miles away.
Awesome Videos! But while you are flying? Can you do *LIVE* so we all can see you when you are flying from somewhere to somewhere in a hours? If you understand what I'm talking? Let me know?!
Unfortunately no, I cannot. That would require a consistent, good, Internet connection. Which is hard to come by for the duration of a trip, even on Wi-Fi equipped aircraft. I can’t live stream if I don’t have Internet or cell service.
He's an overpowered one. Le Maddog!
I miss these things...
Ditto....missing all of the DC-9s...
What a beautiful sound of the engines.
Those engines sound great. Cool video in those clouds.
Such a good video, I feel like i'm in the plane looking out the window, wish I could fly as many times as you, but good on you.
A terrific video of the 80. Good audio - high and low ranges. Hard to find good MD-80 video. Thanks!
Outstanding Takeoff Footage once again man especially inside the MAGGOG!!! #RipMADDOG
These engines sound soooo good! The pilot brought the flaps and slats up very early.
Nice video that plane is cool keep up the great content
Keep climbing Babe! You're doing great! You may be an older plane, but you are trustworthy!
Beautiful vid
#bringbackthemaddogs!
This is so cool😋
Great video👍👍. Liked
Nice parallel takeoff 🛫
Thanks for watching my friend!
@@sla31 thanks
Really great footage. I miss the mad dog already!
One minute separation 🙏

Why do airplanes have wing flex?
All aircraft wing flex, otherwise they would snap off.
Oh.
been a while since i've last seen a Mad Dog... :(
Why is he immediately taking off right after that other jet? I thought there was supposed to be some sort of spacing between aircraft?

@@sla31 Thanks for explaining that to me. Now I understand. Great video btw.
W for saying the MD-80 or specifically MD-88 is a boy, in my opinion all McDonnell Douglas jets are boys. Le boi Maddog. Bring him back!
Awesome video! =D
Thanks man!

@@sla31 oh ok? No problem, but I was just wondering 😅
😊
Too bad you couldn't see this one land as well but still cool.
You can, by using the link in the video description to the full flight.
