My car was diagnosed by Mercedes Benz Dealer here in VA. They quoted me $7000 worth of repairs, mostly including maintenance items. I was about to call them back to go ahead with the repairs but thought I should UA-cam all items needed repair. Luckily, I came across Keith’s channel: I was able to find all DIY videos for every line item which saved me $6000 towards labor costs. On top of that, I learnt a ton about how to do work on my GL450! Thanks a lot brother. Let me say this... YOU ARE THE MAN!! 👊🏾
Gotta learn how to work on these older ML’s or you will go bankrupt and this channel has saved me a lot of money too! Get a good scanner also made a lot of difference. Next job and a big one that you will eventually encounter is your door lock actuator. At least a $1500 repair but w/ some patience and research you can get it done for a few hundred $$ depending if you EBay a used part or buy a new OEM part. I am going OEM you don’t want to do it twice off some salvage ML. Off topic but you will get there.
Perfect DIY fix video instead of buying a new ($160) or used ($60). I have saved so much watching your channel fixing things on my ML500. Thanks again!
Thanks from belgium, payed last year 150 euro for this one! Now the other one opened and the part just costs 15 euro!! Damn boy thankss a lot bud!!! ML 350 2011!
Dude! This video was huge help. I ordered the replacement tabs from eBay and it came with no instructions. Your video saved the day. Did 2 vents and they both went without a hitch. Thanks again.
Performed this fix on two vents for my ‘07 ML350. I only glued the main vent with the slider and the top and bottom vents as they point away from you when you insert it back into the housing. The remaining drop into place. Thanks for the great video!
Just referenced your video again today, thank you. It’s my 3rd vent failure. Was at a junkyard today after spending a lot of time trying to find a 06’-11” ML. Found one at metal recycling yard, the last stop and pulled a new one out of it for $5. So check your junkyards guys b/c after rebuilding three of these now they work but don’t feel the same. Problem is these are old Mercedes and not easy to find. If you have the time I highly suggest just pulling one out of a wrecked ML probably get it for $5 like me
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video. My vent tab split in half - what a frustration. Thank you so much for your time and effort in producing this video. God Bless you sir.
The legal bar didn't make sense and the glue didn't work. I was about to call bull sh*#! But it actually worked. Trick is in the type of glue, I had to use something high viscous & sticky(J-r weld plastic binder)as the crazy glue didn't work. 1st one took 45min, 2nd took 10min. Thanks!!!!!!!
So is mine! You have the round unit's? Mine are square, and the one in the middle is a bit wonky. You can't tell by looking though, lol! As long as the AC is working'
Hello Keith, I Thank you for the Awesome Repair Vids! I have a question if you wouldn't mind helping me. I have a 2011 MB ML 350. I would Like to replace the Flat Hood Emblem. I have tried what I could to remove the one on the Hood and it wont bulge. I opened the Hood and it has no access to remove from under. Pls Help. Thanking you in advance. Lou
Can I just fix the one piece? One of the black pieces actually the middle one broke when I was pushing a phone holder in? It looks bad. It’s only one but is it fixable ? I don’t have this vent I have a c300 sport
@iRepair Autos - the URL to the replacement parts does not work. I need to purchase replacement fins for the center vent on a 2010 MB E350. Any suggestions?
Geeze, I have that task to do on 2 vents... surprisingly with all the over engineering MB does, you would figure the Germans would apply a little glue to the actuator so it doesn't come apart... alas, I blame it on the IKEA engineering concept 😂

15 Euro? I'd just buy them and put them in. Unfortunately, I have 5 thumbs and am not good at this kind of detail.
Another nightmare made simple by a man of great patience. Thanks for sharing your wisdom. God bless you and yours.

Great, very useful video! I was wondering how they are removed and after breaking a few things on such a car, now I watch videos
Thank you for the videos you put together. You are the very best UA-cam has to offer.
I just failed horribly at this but I wanted to thank you for the guidance.
Thank you for the Video, did not have to buy anything only disassemble /assemble and crazy glue gel the slider pieces back together.
The 2nd just failed (separating the control arm) and rebuilt my 2nd vent for free w/o ordering anything. Thanks again!
THIS IS IT!!!!! Thanks so much!!!
I knew there was a way!!! You are the BEST!!! Wow 3 clips...
Thanks for the feedback! Glad the videos help.
Thx for the video Keith. Another thing I have to take care of soon. Great Knowledge transfer

You've change my LIFE!!!! What a great tip.....thank you..

Wow this is much harder than I thought. I bought the little two dollar part on Amazon thinking I could just swap tabs. But here I go…..😂
Thanks for the vid. Off to fix my tabs now. $8 each off ebay v $120 from the dealer.
Great channel great videos, it seems that most issues I have with my ML you’ve already had !! Takes the guess work out. Please don’t ever sell it !!

Mercedes AC removal Vents rear to ml500, 2007
Can you use the same procedure on the center front vents of a c300?

The spine is not getting fixed properly
So cooool

Mercedes should of made these more
Heavy duty.
Glue?! Smh
To hold it in place until everything is set. Go a buy a new one if you don’t like the solution
@@iRepairAutos whatever works for you I guess. Just seems like a little more of a pain than just holding it steady by hand or vice.
Thanks man!!
Thanks
