Char told his sister to leave the war and go back to Earth just so that years later he can throw giant space rocks into Earth's surface to eradicate all humans.
Char wasn't thinking that far ahead. If you're pretending anything that monster ever did was about more than beating Amuro, you're a fool and a moron. By that logic, his sister would have been sacrificed twice, though he would have known of neither. He's just trying to beat the Feddies, and nothing else matters.
@@mechanomics2649 a serious meat grinder on both sides. It plays during the Tragedy at Joburo mission in SD Gundam G Generation Genesis. Even though it was long I didn't loose a single unit....and it still felt like a meat grinder.
I always listened to the japanese version and had never looked up the lyrics. Had no clue the lyrics were so dark. I just always thought it was a banger.
Didn't you find it odd that the song gets played during one of the most desperate battles in the original Gundam Series? I had to look up to lyrics to understand why this bubbly, upbeat 80s style arena-rock ballad was being played while dudes where getting killed left and right on all sides.
Seriously , there had hardly been epic deaths comparable to dozle's death by the time I saw it. And since then , there has hardly been a death as epic as dozle's death . While I was watching him shoot at the gundam with a rifle , I got the idea that it was duo appearing behind him . :O
Gundam's more white poppy than red poppy. It's not about remembering the sacrifices of soldiers, but so that there doesn't need to be anymore sacrifices.
@@Kenshiro3rd Here's the thing, saying their sacrifices weren't in vain, also is a way of ignoring how WWI, was a sacrifice that was in vain. In honesty, Gundam places war as the fault of state power, if you look at it from a Marxist, Libertarian socialist narrative.
Kinda, but these ones fit at least. They're better than what Kotzen did, and it's better than Gackt's no matter what language it's in. I remember the place I got this song bitching that his lyrics were actually too faithful... after people bitched like crazy at Kotzen for basically re-imagining it with loose amounts of faithfulness. No satisfying people, I suppose. :/
True the lyrics is faithful. And to those bitching that it is not the exact word for word translation. Go translate it word for word and you will end up like google translate with no rhyme. It's impossible
@RavenOfRazgriz Japanese songs just don't translate into english with any amount of quality. The reverse is also true. So much of the song just gets lost in translation and sounds bizarre in another language.
Maybe a direct, literal translation doesnt work for songs, since it either loses its meaning or quality... But anything is possible if you instead decide to capture its message rather than literal meanings. Using words and expressions that gives similar feelings but being more in line to the language it's translated to, instead of copypasting the sayings of the language it's translated from. And I gotta say, I personally think that this version is pretty good in that regard, all things considered.
I agree. I'm cosplaying Char for my next anime convention. I own the whole original series and show it to all my female friends, with varying degrees of success. Of ocurse, it's my dad who loves it the most. I love all Gundam, except maybe Destiny! XD
@PFCBlank thats fine, we're all entitled to our own opinion, but i think the WK version is just silly, while the Koetzen version is just sooooo much better.
Ah the point of killing millions of people of 5th Luna and Axis? I'm gonna go with what Amuro said, "No one has the right to punish human beings like that."
wtf???? i always loved this song..fighting at jaburo...but fuck....them lyrics r fucked up being sung like that in english...just creeps me out....think ill stick to the JP version

what a good brother XD
Tac Son Char does not think shit though.
To be fair, Char was suicidal at that point and probably wasn't thinking clearly.

Char doesn't think as far ahead as he pretends to.
A song that sums up what Gundam is.
The theme of the music vs the lyrics.
@@Memelord1117no deadass, this is my first time hearing the english lyrics and my jaw hug open
still a bop though
i never realized that this was the real translation. but this song is true, war is nothing but sorrow
I always listen to this song at least once on Remembrance day.
I love how you can still hear Ramba Ral screaming at 0:47
I remember as a kid this song would come on when playing fed vs zeon. I was so confused lol
A cheery sounding song for the massacre that was the Battle of Jaburo lol

Sums up the high body count of the One Year War nicely.

Yoshiyuki Tomino Presents: MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM: THE MUSICAL...
Music by Andrew W. K.
Coming Soon!
KronnangDunn They did Spider-Man so why not.

God, I had no idea how intense this song was.
Casualties in the One Year War were in the billions.
AMVs are not that bad. they can be really good, especially when you put in the right music and show off good video editing skills.
nice video it catchs all the themes of death, love, revenge and more that gundam 0079 has.
This really dose sum up what war is really about
Happy Memorial Day everyone. 5 years later, and so many more to remember. Don’t let their sacrifices be in vain.

Beautiful!
Masterpiece song for masterpiece anime 🤔
Wow what an amazing AMV great job
Happy Veterans' Day.
Great Job! I love the Gundam Rock album.
I love this song so up beat.
Glory to the Federation. **freedom tears**
I still can't believe they kept the kids till A Boa Qu
I agree, I can accept up until they get their main jungle base but not why they brought them back into space.
This song also works with Larry Hama's GI Joe books.

Actually, I thought about this song when I saw Rogue One.
The lyrics feels more for a Metal song, but still I love it
Amazing version.
愛されてるなぁ
you know on reflection, this song show cases war. this songs describes prolly every war.

I love this video!! It goes well with this song ^__^.
Man, if only they sent the juaggu' to Jaburo, they would have been so screwed
Mobile Suit Gundam MOVIE-Mobile Suit Gundam II: Soldier if Sorrow (EN,CN,HK,TW,KR,FR,DE Sub)'
cool video you should of added char's bazooka scene
Sounds like a cross between I Don't Like Mondays and Come Sail Away.
I think this English version is better than the one used in the 08th MS team video.
I mourn when I see that statistics that say only men ages 18-44 watch this...am I the only teenage girl who loves Gundam?
Lol I feel you
I played the game that this song was from when in got released in the states years ago. This song was a banger then and it still is now.
英語版かな?かっこええのう
5 years late but yes. Andrew WK is a musician and possibly the biggest English speaking Gundam fan.
garma finally got his revenge
one year war soldiers history
more things should do what MSG did at 2:13

Gundam Origin Volume 8 brought me back here. XD
@Ellnats It's not Char it's Full Frontal he is a CLONE of Char and is considered the Second coming of Char.
Suck it, Feddy tyranny! Zeon will have its independence, in this life or the next!!!
With or without another colony drop?
Ah the point of killing millions of people of 5th Luna and Axis? I'm gonna go with what Amuro said, "No one has the right to punish human beings like that."
MichaelCollins1922
Plus there was the fact that the Zeon pumped TOXIC GAS INTO COLONIES! That's not desperate tactics, that's a war crime!
Agent1W actually Zeon's sides were already independent, just Zeon's untimely death and Zabi fucking things up
joethehero2 So did the Titans in the name of the Federation.
@Bladecrossexe they both eveporated they probaly would survive re-entry (maybe not since the RX-78-2 used some kind of protective film)
お、降りられそうだな
降りられたかな?
Always Journey to Jaburo

This is an awfully cheery melody considering the lyrics. xD
SINISTER SKY OMEGA ON UA-cam
lol funny how you used the english version of the song, but clips from japanese episodes lol
Happy Memorial Day.
@PFCBlank and lines like "Sorrow this living sorrow" and "All the color will go into the earth" are just silly and verging on nonsensical.
i listen to andrew wk for all the weeb reasons. i mean... wrong reasons
早漏!
Yeah, yeh Japanese version is still better...
