I've never seen a legacy crash and burn more than Edge. Remember his Royal Rumble return before the lockdowns? He went from that to his first night in Aew and running to one entirely empty side of the arena. It's at that moment he knew he f'ed up.

Dude a week ago Nash was giving CM Punk props! People don’t listen to everything he says. He says one thing about something he doesn’t like, people run with it’. But when he did a podcast praising what Punk is doing, no one notices . But he did take a shot towards how long it’s taken punk to be out for his triceps but when Nash was champ in wwe he had to keep wrestling with the hurt tricep
He had to keep wrestling. Ah so he's one of those, "I had to suffer, so everyone should have to suffer" types of people. I wonder if he gets mad at all the people who've had their student loans forgiven too.

But on topic, i do like Tornquad Nash better as a wrestler than Wafflehouse Punk, as have historical ratings and merch sales reflected too. But both in general have enjoyed sitting at home too much. Tornquad may have worked thru some injuries, but many other times he just sat at home bc muh guaranteed money (plus demons ofc). At least Wafflehouse does come back to do good promos and sketches, but can't be bothered to stay in shape for his own career's good in the meantime (and has no demons excuse), unlike Tornquad that at least likes the gym. All this said, I think they both are working the marks, Nash playing the heel while getting the Attitude 90s marks on his side, Punk playing the face for his culty indierific millennial iwc nerd marks. (Btw, the podcasts subtly becoming an extension of kayfabe is a great way to make wrestling great again).
Besides, it's not Wafflehouse's fault that in this terribly slow era literally any match that advances a feud or changes title is left for the ppvs, nothing out of the ordinary happens on weekly tv anymore, sad.
Nash has the most half hearted podcast. It's like pulling teeth for Sean Oliver to get Nash to say more than a couple sentences on each topic.
Nash has a hard time forming those sentences. He can start to say something and then it's just a run away train lol

Considering how often Nash would go off-script to bury people in promos, it's kind of a bad look that he would let a CM Punk line from about 12 years ago stick in his head. Get over it.
Same with Nash constantly bringing up Bret Hart not wanting to take Nash's powerbomb the PPV before WM12. Somehow Undertaker vs Nash would've been the greatest Wrestlemania match ever if only Bret did business
@@scottdecowski4913yeah Nash holds grudges, as most wrestlers do, the aforementioned Bret is another great example of that. But to be fair that wasn't as much about match quality and more about characters and storyline: Diesel was watered down and it's not like Bret did much better. Neither was a big draw; but Diesel could have done a bit better if he had been allowed to remain a proto-Stone-Cold-like powerful tweener and monster. After all, Bret was allowed to have his great heel turn against Stone Cold.
I don’t like that we now live in a world where you can’t like someone and still be able to be critical of them.
Nash is from that era were people worked hurt, Punk is the guy who works 1-4 matches every 8 months before he gets hurt and gets paid millions to gain weight.

Found myself watching a lot of Nash shoots over the last 8 yrs. Forget which one but he said those verbal exchanges with Punk on live TV were planned for Punk to fire off scripted and unscripted PG shots and Nash would just take the insults so it made Punk look strong. Say what you want about Nash but he's still to this day working the fans and creating staged controversy through his gimmick. When the cameras and audio are off, I'm sure he's having boring friendly conversations with guys like Punk which fans don't deserve to see. That whole Ricky Morton and Nash thing was also a nice performance in Morton's hometown that worked a ton of marks.

The thing I’ve always felt with Nash is that he’s incredibly bitter that he’s pretty much a small footnote when it comes to 90’s wrestling.
I grew up watching wrestling from around 1988-2002, when I think of Nash’s contribution and legacy the only thing I think of is him first turning up in WCW in terms of positive things, but my overwhelming thought is negative due to the Fingerpoke Of Doom! When I think of the stars who were really influential it’s Flair, Hogan, Sting, Bret, Shawn Michaels, Rock, Stone Cold, HHH, Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Jericho, even Goldberg! I don’t think of Nash at all, he’s way down the list and way behind Scott Hall who, for his personal demons, was one of the best and would put young talent over unlike Nash.
Reality is, 20 years from now, nobody will remember him

However I will say this, If supporting a movement that allows children to access life altering hormone pills & irreversible surgeries leaving them sterile for life is a work (Phil supports this), then my opinion doesn't change for the better. Personally I think it’s just a bit of professional jealousy. He’s never been the best at knowing he’s not that much of a star. He’s latched onto the right people throughout his career to be considered even slightly relevant. Anyone he bashes have all been more successful than him, so now in his mid 60s it’s just made him incredibly bitter and cynical. Still his moaning and opinions can make for amusing conversations so it’s not all bad 🤷🏾♂️🙃😂

That said, I'd consider his guaranteed money/first nations deals that overblew the budget in favor of his friends way worse than any bad storyline. The storyline could have been forgotten with good booking like many others, but the financial hole in the budget that wrestling-hating AOL execs pounced upon wasn't survived... not to mention, said deals allowed said elite wrestlers (Nash and friends) to miss out on shows more than warranted for, and hurt the product even more...
