These videos are super helpful, thank you! I just used this to set up my first Amazon ad for my book. I set the dynamic bids at "down only" and put in the $5/day. Do I still need to go in and check daily that it is not going to overspend, or am I correct in assuming that no matter what, Amazon won't go over the $5/day budget for 30 days?
You are correct that Amazon won't go over the $5 a day budget for 30 days, however I do recommend checking in often on new ads just to make sure they don't go wonky at first and you can shut off anything that isn't working from the get go. The beginning of setting up an ad is almost like a training period to figure out what works and what doesn't for your ad.
@@BethanyStahl thanks for getting back to me. How can I tell if it's going wonky? I'm so new at this I don't know what to look for. Right now it's saying I've sold one book and had over 1,000 impressions, and I've spent $25 so far.
@@jayvanlandingham7768 So if you've spent $25 and only sold one book, that isn't great, because you are paying for people to buy your book. I would look what you personally profit per copy sold, and make sure that you aren't paying more than that amount per sale, that way you aren't paying to sell your book. Ex. If you profit $4 a book, you'd want to have a sale with an ad spend no more than $4 a book. Removing keywords that are spending too much and getting clicks but not sales and keeping keywords that are getting sales and doing well on giving you a good ROI (return of investment) will help tune your ads into helping you instead of hurting you.
I started a manual sponsored product campaign a few days ago entering ISBN-10 codes (all top sellers) as targets. Nothing is happening. What am I doing wrong?
Nope! Congrats on starting your author journey! Take it easy and go slow. You should be safe if you follow the steps with low bidding and feel free to turn them off when they go out of whack, check them daily to make sure they aren't spending anything more than you are comfortable with. Advertising should only make you money.
Good information about paperbacks.
Great video. Nice and concise. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!

I am a brand new author who just released on Amazon. I don't want to lose money on a campaign. Do I need to spend hundreds to advertise?
