you know what I love about these video's the most? it humbles me. one of my character flaws is my lack of humility. I want to fight that. I don't want be called out for my arrogance on yawmu al-qiyaamah (may Allah protect and forgive us all, ameen).
Self awareness first step brother! Barakallahu feek may you stay on the right path.
JazakAllahukhair for saying that the imams were all great pious men. And their piety was never in question. If we were to choose the madhab on the level of their piety it would be impossible to select one.
Yes, we follow the Quran and Sunnah only. We don’t follow the way of men. But we get to that understanding by asking the Great Imams 😉.
Apparently the great imaams’ students differed from great imaams in almost half of the original fatawas in some cases. Pls learn fiqh from authentic scholars who rely on Allah and His messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) when there is a difference of opinion among the conclusions drawn between the great imaams.
O believers!Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. Should you disagree on anything, then refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you truly believe in Allah and the Last Day. This is the best and fairest resolution.

SubhanAllah. What an amazing and extremely important video series that every Muslim should watch. A very beautiful explanation.
this series is elite, from the cinematography to the editing and ofcourse the message and concept! Well done safina society. Kickstarting this year with gold content.
The biggest evidence for following the four Imams is Ijmah on their validity throughout earlier ages. For some 800 years or more, there were four maqmat in the masjid al haram, one for each madhab. Now you can call four maqamat for leading prayer bidah (I think its in an example of what Imam Shafi and Nawawi call bidah mubah, the permissible bidah), but the fact that there were only four maqamat for each of the four madhab, and that for all those centuries no one criticised it, shows that for 800 years or plus there was a recognition that sunni Islam has four conclusive schools of jurisprudence.
Imam Shafee said he would choose Ijmah over a sahih hadith, because Ijmah is established through mutawatir hadith and through Qur'an itself (3:110) but a single hadith can be abrogated or only for a specific time or place or situation.
Majority practice based on a potential mutawatir hadith over a proven saheeh hadith?
All this gymnastics to prove your madhab or only 4 madhabs imaams are superior? Rest no scholar is true or sincere?
Glad to be a muslim who follows all scholars who support their arguments from Quran and Sunnah and do sincere attempts at reaching a conclusion.
May Allah guide.

@@lukemaunehakeem147It is not about sincerity it is about safety. Any modern scholar is too far removed to do Ijtihad over settled issues. The first thing to understand is that Hadith is not Sunnah by itself, Hadith are the sayings of the prophet whose veracity has been graded by Muhadithin, their interpretation in Fiqh requires a more wholistic understanding of the Deen.
@@alisaood9445but modern scholars can definitely talk about modern issues. Scholars from centuries ago can't talk about teach, modern health, finance, etc

Same here. Most people around me are so

Beautiful video. Saying Islam has too many rules and that religion should be easy are stupid. Rules are meant for ease, they create order and give us a framework to follow. The Quran calls Islam a deen, and deen means a complete system of life. No one says "Oh the united states has too many laws," or, "I live in a country that has all these rules and regulations regarding finance and social matters." Islam is not a simple fortune cooky religion, it gives us law so we can function as a society. Every society needs law and legal experts. But not everyone can be a legal expert, there needs to be farmers and builders and police and other people. These people who are not legal experts have to follow legal experts in what they say. No society can function without such rules, so why must an Islamic society be different. Why would God send down revelation regarding spiritual matters only, and leave us with imperfect ways to govern and operate societies. It makes sense God gives us guidance for all things and not leave us in the dark regarding critical matters of legislation. So why are we trying to make it look like Islam is something lawless and ruleless or that an Islamic society is this illogical system where there are either no laws or somehow everyone can be a legal expert. The fact islam has rules for everything doesn't make it hard to follow, it makes things easy for us because laws streamline things and are there to introduce order in society.
Hazrat Umar sent different sahaba to be muftis of different cities. He didn't leave it to the common man to interpret Quran and hadith the way they want, he made things easy for them by sending each city a legal expert; a mufti.
JazākAllāh Khaira for this series! Just a slight change in order of episodes 4 and 5 in the playlist needs to be made. Once again JazākAllāh.
Thanks!
Ur madhab chose u in a sense my father is hanafi but chose for me shafi 😊
Can you make a methodology series of all the 4 madhabs?
Terrific ❤
Mashallah sheikh u are amazing... We all need to go back to the old ways... And follow one school of thought..
following the madhab you have access to teachers with so you can learn your religion is a good reason to choose one, otherwise learning is hard
actually a teacher can't ever teach u. but you can learn whaterver u want. meaning that if u don't learn for yourself even if there are teachers u can't learn from them.
This makes no sense. You have the internet now. No need to pick madhab like a car color

Salam . Do u have any access to local masjid? If so try to get some contact of a scholar make sure he follows one of the madhabs . If not stay away as these are people of innovation
Such an important topic to talk about and respond to the deceiving salafi propaganda
In an ideal islamic society, where theres a difference of opinion between 2 brothers of 2 different madhabs in a civil matter or a matter of business, which madhab conclusion becomes the ruling? Is this a non question since islamic societies on a whole tend to be ruled by one madhab or another? Or would the ideal islamic society be ruled in different districts according to what madhab exists there? In Egypt for example, entire towns are educated upon one madhab, while other towns are educated upon amother.
- You said earlier in the 1st generation, there werent but 2 madhabs, mecca & medina being under one, and Kufa being the other, what were those two called again, ahl el hadith and ahl el analogy?
Asslamulakum, very informative. I would like to know, shaykh What madhab do you follow?
You said that the Hanafi and Maliki Mathhab relied on so and so companions. On what companions did the Shafii and Hanbali rely on mainly? Can someone help out? May Allah reward you guys.
The core difference really is not so much about which sahabah they prefer to narrate from, but about their degree of acceptance of hadiths when it comes to defining Sunnah.
So in general...
Malikis only accept a hadith if it doesn't clash with the amal of Medina during Malik's time.
Hanafis only accept a hadith if the sahaba practiced what is narrated and if the hadith is the level of mutawatir and in harmony with rationality.
Hanbalis accept ahad hadiths and the Shafiis accept ahad hadiths with conditions.
BārakAllāh Ustāḏ 🌹
Assalamu alaikum brother Shadee.
I follow shafi madhab does wudhu shafi madhab way. Our imams are hanafi followers mostly.
As per hanafi madhab i believe the hair should be wiped from front until the crown.
If i do wudhu shafi madhab way, which hanafi madhab considers incomplete, will the prayer be considered complete by both madhab?
Should we consider wudhu and prayer , one single action?
🎉
Amazing video. Hopefully the Pakistani people pay attention and take the right steps.

Why don’t we use honourable titles for them? Instead of Abu Hanifa, why not Imam Abu Hanifa or Imam-Adham
Or instead of Malik, instead of Imam Malik?
جَزَاكَ ٱللَّٰهُ خَيْرًا. Due to the reason that I do not have the resources nor a community that follows Maliki fiqh, I follow the fiqh of the majority in my area (which is Hanafi fiqh). I went to the mosque and asked the Imam whether sadl is acceptable or not, with him replying that it won’t invalidate the prayer I.e. the prayers are excepted, but the prayer wouldn’t be prayed as to the majority opinion of the school which is qabd. Similar to Malikis who only practise qabd, which also isn’t the majority view of their fiqh, but the salah being accepted anyways.
Brother, can u explain in layman terms?
I am in similar position, shafi madhab but attends hanafi masjid.
Whats the concern in here?
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته,
There was the following concern:
As I researched more and more about the position of sadl (leaving the hands at the sides rather than qabd, which is holding them) I wanted to practise sadl.
But the question at that time was the following - do I need to change my fiqh (which is Hanafi) to Maliki fiqh if I want to practise sadl? Or can I still follow every aspect of fiqh in the Hanafi school with the exception of sadl?
As for the question - I asked my local imam (who is Hanafi) about this topic, he mentioned that it was seen as a sunnah in the three schools of thought, but leaving them by the sides (sadl) wouldn’t invalidate the prayer nor make it invalid in any way.
Similar to younger generations of malikis in Morocco and North Africa that don’t follow the majority view of their fiqh, which is sadl, but their prayers are accepted anyways.
Ahlulsunnah sees both qabd and sadl as parts of the sunnah, even though certain schools see the other as more authentic.
What do you think about this?
@@uvaiskomath Just take care that when you need to ask something, ask from Shaf'ii scholar or even if they're Hanafi ask them how is this matter as per Shaf'ii school of thought and then practice that

So, what madhab are you following, Dr. Shadee Elmasry?
He's born Hanafi, but follows the Maliki madhab.
@@kampongboi18 thanks a lot, bro!
Why did the ijtehad ended with only 4 madhab in Sunni Islam? Why can't we follow all of these when in fact all Madhab teaches the same aspect of Islam?
You can
Well the sheikh explained the caveats of doing so in this video. If you follow all Madhabs at once then it could create a mess and result in invalid behavior so better to stick with one.
@@muhammadqasim5564 what invalid behavior?
I feel deep disapproval, and shame, when a person (even if with knowledge) says that they dont want or need a madhab, following their limited understanding, rather than humbling themselves to just follow an Imam. it is arrogant, ignorant and may lead to fitna within the Umma.
This makes no sense. There are scholars who do agree that you do not need to follow a madhab. No one is making their own rulings. You are taking the most logical, or most strongest from each. You can't blindly follow the madhabs. Perhaps swallow your ego and arrogance before being condescending. You're trying to create divisions and act superior with a difference in opinion. You're limiting yourself as a Muslim by confining yourself to a madhab. Just like political identity when people want to go right or lefy for evrything, even though when the other side has better cases for some situations. You follow Islam, and yes madhabs make sense, but you don't follow madhabs.
How do you as a layman know which is the strongest or best? Honestly it’s pure arrogance to think that your ijtihaad is better than theirs. If you’ve studied for 20 years, ok pick your opinion. Until then, your out of your depth
In order:
Imam Shaafi
Imam Ahmed
Imam Malik
As Abu hanifa he was heavily refuted by the salaf and nearly all the quotes of them praising him is week and fabricated
Well may be you need to read the book _"Tabyadh ul Sahifa fi manaqib e Abu Hanifa"_ by the *Shafi'i scholar* _Jalaluddin suyuti_
That's totally wrong and biased...In fact the most strong and quality madhab is that of Imam Abu Hanifa.
The answer is simple: follow abu hanifa
