Love your plain language. A-K suited - "This is the kind of hand I like to play." -Raises 5-6 suited and gets a ton of calls. "I'm not very happy about this."
Nice vlog Doug, although the qj of diamonds jam on the turn didn't work out, I like that you jammed turn and your reasoning behind it. Still booked the win well done!
I was trying to fold out hands like JT AJ or maybe even a small straight. Had 30% equity against nut straight, 40% against small straight. It would be nice to get lucky on that pot. Oh well.
Your the best to watch 1/3 is realistic for me,and i really like your life experiences with poker and the casinos world, yes I have been following your blog for a wile now. Best wishes with your health, and keep playing, because you love it! 😎
Welcome back to UA-cam. Are you fully recovered ? If you covered that in the video I about to watch it but wanted to reach out to you 1st. You saw Andrew Lok outro about you ?
Glad to see you and Zeus back buddy. Going to be in Sacramento in a couple weeks, I’ll give you a heads up. We really enjoy meeting and playing with you
Some cool hands here. I gotta get better at taking beats, I'm a bit of a sore loser. Just lost set over set, what a demoralizing feeling after playing good for 6 hours! Awesome dog btw, that was a fun video
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. It’s hard not tilting on bad beats and cold decks. Even after 30+ years of playing, I can still lose it occasionally. The trick is to realize it and recover, before it gets out of control.
Glad your back on the felt feeling better. Good hit with 9/8 I wonder if the first betting player would have made his straight on the river. Or he was betting the j or that river was an action killer. Vs the KK. You got a call good going.
I thought of smooth calling to raise, my raise looks very strong. He might have made a straight on the end, but I would lose action from the KK. So I went for the jam, I jammed the previous hand with a big draw, thought I might get a loose call.
@@dougmccuskerpoker I have a throat/stomach endoscopy coming up, routine diagnosis of a hernia, but hey ho, this getting old stuff is not desireable, no poker for me for ages, we have some very good home games here, small rake, many gambling Asians and some very good money to be made, but without me for awhile yet!! Keep safe bro, regards
Very good to see you back at the felt. The AdKd hand, and in general, you need to increase your raise and 4bet sizes out of the blinds. Obviously people are call happy and you don't want so much company. I'd go st *least* 4x the original open, plus one more for every cold caller. You can also add 1-2 more on days ending in "day". So $10 open, 2 cold calls and you find JJ or AKs in a blind... I'd go $60 at least, and $75 would be fine. You don't want to play out of position, your hand is crushing their range, so any money that goes in pre you get way the majority of the equity. So make it super painful for them to call, and if they do call, collect a huge price for their flop lottery ticket.
The Q4 hand where you flop bottom 2. When you flop huge out of the big blind in an unraised pot, just lead out. Nobody has much (or there would have been a raise) but they will be inelastic about calling ranges. In those situations just lead for a full PSB (or a bit more!). Now there's something to fight over and you have the best hand.
My goal was to fold out the non nutted hands that beat me. JT, AJ hands and outdraw the hands that wouldn’t fold. Have to work on my outdrawing ability. 😀
Thanks for all your support, it feels great to be back. Please like, subscribe and comment, it helps the channel grow.
My favorite poker UA-camr.. no crazy pill popping EDM music, no cinematic shots of sand and trees, just straight up POKER HANDS 🙌🏽
I was just about to add all those things in my next vlog, will leave it out now. 😀
@@dougmccuskerpoker MORE ZEUS!!! MORE ZEUS!!! if anything, more of the 'big guy'.
Thanks for posting another nice video. Poker is like a box of chocolates, Mr. McCusker. LOL
Now I feel like eating some chocolates. 😀
always great to have a loving 4 legged bestie to be with during challenging times.
dogs seem to teach us the "now".
Zeus was a little upset at me, he constantly wanted to go for a walk while I was unable.
Hoping for your full recovery soon, Doug. Glad to see you back on the felt.
It feels good to play again.
Didn't take long for the tables to remind you that sometimes sessions can be roller coasters. Welcome back Doug.
Some wild sessions
Glad to see you up and about. 🙂

Really nice 👌 walk through! Love your take on hands.
Thanks, try to describe my thought process the best I can, even when I make mistakes.
Glad to see you doing better Mr. Doug love to watch your vlogs and hope you run good keep the videos coming.
Thanks, looking forward to playing more this year.
I like your attitude towards the poker. Very calm and calculated
I know many players that play well when winning and bad when losing. Steady play without tilt, gets the money.
Glad to see you're back on the felt. Congratulations on the first win!!!!

Wow.
I've flopped Quad Queens before but never Aces, especially with such a nice hand like AKs.
Always nice to hit the flop in a 3 bet pot. 😀

Glad your back on the felt feeling better. Good hit with 9/8 I wonder if the first betting player would have made his straight on the river. Or he was betting the j or that river was an action killer. Vs the KK. You got a call good going.
Yeah hindsight it had to have been a 10 for the first player. He probably doesn't call a 3 bet with a J
I thought of smooth calling to raise, my raise looks very strong. He might have made a straight on the end, but I would lose action from the KK. So I went for the jam, I jammed the previous hand with a big draw, thought I might get a loose call.
Ya worked out cause the Kk called. He wasn't calling the river if you smooth call...
Evening from a very dull, wet UK, hope youre recovering well Doug have a great week, best wishes Fraser

QJd 14:00 say, instead of shoving - you checked/called turn, and river was 8 (straight). Would you fold it if he jams river (for additional $300)?
Look how that all in chip falls on the chip at 17:01
Everything was bouncing my way that hand. 😀
appreciate u telling us the tell u picked up. i really apprecaite the knowledge from a seasoned pro

It’s nice to be back. You’re right about the sizing, 50 was too small. Should be at least 60 in that spot.
Another good one.

Hard to get away from a straight flush draw, even when you think your opponent flopped the nuts. Hope you get there next time!

Don’t have anything planned yet, will mention it in the vlog when I do.
See the problem with the first hand when u had the 5♣️6♣️ is that you had way too many outs. I swear Too-many-outs syndrome is a real thing 😩 🤣
Yeah, great price up until I missed.
