this is one step closer to what i imagine. i imagine characters and landscape can be saved into library, and then incorporated to another generation while maintaining its design.
For example I care very very much about o1 model and LLMs, while I do not really care at all about AI image generators and AI video generators like SORA. At the same time LLMs are my life from morning till evening. Different people have different preferences.
The game changer would be adding place holders in the video, that makes it possible to use Sora for branding. So at the moment, we use AI editors that are basically templates like Renderforest and create LOGO vids. If I could use Sora to create a company intro with a place holder, I’d insert my logo and generate the 15-20 sec video

Imagine someone generating a video of someone commiting a crime? What does this mean for REAL videos being used in court? Will they be counted as inadmissable evidence in the future because we can't tell if it was generated by AI or not? People need to think of the broader implications here.

At least with OpenAI and Runway, generations are monitored and blocked by a censor. If bad actors use it and cause harm to someone, they can be tracked down. And of course, there are also VPNs, which have become commonplace in countries like China, where regulations on internet use are stricter.

This is because to train these models they are using people's data without their explicit consent. This is against EU regulations. This will be a very long dispute between EU and these AI corporations.

By doing so, Europeans will be at a great disadvantage on the world stage. It's unfortunate that the regulation is also written without a clear understanding of how LLMs work in the first place and completely ignores the existence of open source models that remain accessible anyway. There's competitors to Sora out there that are available in the EU so it makes little sense. OpenAI is simply playing it safe, and I would too when large fines loom.
Very cool. One hiccup is that it seems Sora has a problem with animal leg movement, it kept conflating the front legs when the mammoth was walking, so the right leg was taking over for the back motion and the left leg for the front motion for each step (instead of the legs fully alternating).
Sora will help more creative minds that have no access to budget, and help them express innovative ideas in ways we have never seen before. This is a great day for technology and art.

I’m impressed! While the initial teaser of Sora may have spawned and fueled the fire of creation of the many other great video AI generating tools. Open AI layed low and didn’t rush to compete. Personally, I think it was worth the wait. As many are saying, “This is the worst that it’s going to get”. It only gets better from here. This is why I patiently waited. As a Chat GPT plus user, I can create scripts and images with my own GPTs (Which I currently do) and now I can plug those scripts and images into Sora and generate the video. Yes, it’s not perfect, yes the workflow will have to be tweaked, But, it’s still generating usable video at this point. Which I can work with and it’s only going to get better! Can it produce fairly uneventful backgrounds that can be used as a backdrop, for example wind blowing across the prairie, a seascape with waves; and for these video backgrounds to be loops, so that when strung together, there would be no apparent join? That would be really useful. Those kind of video clips are often never quite what you want and are fairly expensive.
We don't have this in the UK as of a safety compliance issue on AI, even if it is a creative AI video tool that is already overly safe by corporate policy. A whole nations tech advancements held back by the previous idiotic government introducing policies to overly regulate a technology that has no known safety issues!? We regulate cars and planes because of known safety issues. We regulate creative AI video production because of no known issues. They dont even have a benchmark to test safety compliance of creative AI video production. And the irony is that I can go online today and use 5+ AI video creation tools that arent regulated by corporate policies - which is what we will all be doing till the UK/EU realise that this compliance isn't helping their citizens, just holding them back. As they arent on a level playing field with advanced global technology - while 100s of minor nations can freely be creative with such tools. So frustrating.

I’m impressed! While the initial teaser of Sora may have spawned and fueled the fire of creation of the many other great video AI generating tools. Open AI layed low and didn’t rush to compete. Personally, I think it was worth the wait. As many are saying, “This is the worst that it’s going to get”. It only gets better from here.
This is why I patiently waited. As a Chat GPT plus user, I can create scripts and images with my own GPTs (Which I currently do) and now I can plug those scripts and images into Sora and generate the video. Yes, it’s not perfect, yes the workflow will have to be tweaked, But, it’s still generating usable video at this point. Which I can work with and it’s only going to get better! LET”S GO!!! 👍🏽🎉🥳

Can it produce fairly uneventful backgrounds that can be used as a backdrop, for example wind blowing across the prairie, a seascape with waves; and for these video backgrounds to be loops, so that when strung together, there would be no apparent join? That would be really useful. Those kind of video clips are often never quite what you want and are fairly expensive.

Finally, we have information about Sora.
We don't have this in the UK as of a safety compliance issue on AI, even if it is a creative AI video tool that is already overly safe by corporate policy. A whole nations tech advancements held back by the previous idiotic government introducing policies to overly regulate a technology that has no known safety issues!? We regulate cars and planes because of known safety issues. We regulate creative AI video production because of no known issues. They dont even have a benchmark to test safety compliance of creative AI video production. And the irony is that I can go online today and use 5+ AI video creation tools that arent regulated by corporate policies - which is what we will all be doing till the UK/EU realise that this compliance isn't helping their citizens, just holding them back. As they arent on a level playing field with advanced global technology - while 100s of minor nations can freely be creative with such tools. So frustrating.
