    The Word of GOD declares in Romans 12:1, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." And again in 1st Corinthians 6:9-10, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
    We must LIVE HOLY in all manners of life!

    @gsschoenfeld ...I never once stated that cohabitation is sin...I stated that it is NOT CONDUCIVE to HOLY LIVING! Chances are, when you co-habit with someone that you're attracted to--the probability and propensity to commit sin is EXTREMELY HIGH--no scientific data, scripture or linking of arms are needed to understand that much!

    @gsschoenfeld...Cohabitation, although not expressly mentioned in scripture, is NOT conducive to HOLY LIVING! I think it's quite evident, in St. John 4:16-18, where our Lord Jesus stood on this issue. Furthermore, to answer your question, the Bible declares in Titus 1:15, "Unto the pure, ALL THINGS are pure..." (that means sexual and non-sexual)
    Ultimately, the Bible says nothing is wrong for a man and woman to live in the same house --> IF THERE IS NOTHING IMMORAL TAKING PLACE!

    @gsschoenfeld...Titus 1:15 is as crystal clear as the day is bright! Purity is not only a state-of-mind but A WAY OF LIVING--HOLINESS! HOLY LIVING is an inside revelation that produces outside MANIFESTATION (FRUIT)! (Romans 12:1; 1st Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:18-20; Romans 6:22; Ephesians 5:9)

    @gsschoenfeld...However, the problem arises in that there is still the APPEARANCE of immorality (1 Thessalonians 5:22; Ephesians 5:3; Romans 14:16; 1st Thessalonians 4:3-8) and trust me, it will be a tremendous temptation for immorality. The Bible tells us to flee immorality, not expose ourselves to constant temptations to immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). A couple living together is often "assumed" (appear) to be sleeping together--that is just the nature of things.

    @gsschoenfeld ...You're right...JESUS NEVER condemned her, be HE did CONVICT her (of her wrong doing-sin)--as HE does ALL of us that commit sin. Furthermore, JESUS did however, CONDEMN SIN (Romans 8:3)...and anytime WE commit sin, WE bring OURSELVES under that condemnation--simply because SIN has already been JUDGED!

    @convertedheart From what I can tell Jesus never actually condemned the woman at the well or her lifestyle in John 4. Their discussion was about worshiping God in spirit and Jesus revealed himself to her as the messiah. It seems to me Jesus was just glad to meet her. I'm confused about what your point is about Titus 1:15. Isn't that saying the purity is a state-of-mind of the individual, and not some rule keeping dogma?

    @convertedheart Well then cohabitation would not be immoral because Paul did the same thing. Paul lived with Lydia and her household in Acts 16:15. If that had any indication of immorality I'm sure Paul would not have done that because it would set a bad example.

    Does anyone know of a verse which specifically mentions "sexual purity" because when I checked these verses in my bible it was just condemning prostitution, and mentioned nothing about cohabitation.
    1 Cor 6:13 ... and the body [is] not for whoredom, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body;

    Living together before marriage is like masturbation: the act is not a sin, but our desires for doing so, if sexually immoral, are a sin - when living with someone of the opposite sex that you are attracted to, you are giving into temptation and greatly increase the risks of lusting, sleeping together, sex, etc.
    One could argue, though, that Genesis 2:24-25 and Hebrews 13:4 say that living together before marriage is a sin, no matter the reasons ;)
