Many thanks for taking the time to make and publish such an informative series of videos. I'm in the position of having a large collection of images assigned with mess of keywords that include spelling mistakes and many other errors. At the moment I have a trial version of Photo Mechanic and your videos have shown me the power of the application along with how well designed and implemented it is.
This is great. So many photographers don't know about PM. I love it. I use it to cull BEFORE I go to LightRoom. It has made all the difference and I have an ancient version.
Thanks. Personally, I use Photo Mechanic both before and after ON1. It works great with both ON1 and Lightroom. Of course, the old school PM>Photoshop>PM workflow is still used by zillions of photojournalists.
Monday, December 07, 2020, 4:40 p.m. - Thanks for letting me know about this UA-cam video of yours. Wonderful info, just what I was looking for Carl; I guess I am just going to have to view your other videos, awesome service to Photo Mechanic users.
I need to make different arrangements of the same batch of pictures to compare them on the fly. Custom 1, Custom 2, etc. But this seems impossible. Only more complicate options like renaming and making different folders seem available. Am I missing the way to do such a basic thing for a photo organizer application?
Custom arrangements as in in what order each thumbnail appears in the contact sheet? No, I don't think you could do that. You can rearrange the order of thumbnails, but I don't think you can save such an order. I can't quite see how that would help anyway. You CAN make custom filters that will arrange thumbnails by various fields, like "sort on object name first and then filetype". Or maybe you're thinking of organizational functions of the sort that exist in Photo Mechanic Plus or ON1 or Lightroom. Ordinary Photo Mechanic is files-and-folders only. Maybe if I had a better idea of what you need to do I could be more helpful. You can jump over to my blog at metadatamatters.blog and use the contact form. Then we can have an email conversation.

Even more power of control in Photo Mechanic that you have guided me to. Many thanks Carl. I'll be sure to streamline my interface.
Best videos on Photo Mechanics. Thanks!
This is awesome! Thank you!
