So I went with bolts because I want to be able to remove it when I need it. I am taking that risk with my passengers not having it welded. If you weld it directly to the floor, it would be safer. But you still need to raise it off the floor. There won't be too much leg room depending on who you have there. Also, you need about 1in of space for the wheels and clamps to sit below the clamping bar. There is a kit you can buy on Amazon or eBay for $60, and you can weld them directly to the floor, and then you would have a base to attach to. I'm no expert again. You're taking your own risk on doing this mod. I hit mine with a sledge several times, seeing if it would move or break and nothing, so I was OK with just using bolts.

@sammy bully KUAFU 3rd Row Seat Brackets Compatible with 2000-2014 Chevy Chevrolet Tahoe GMC Yukon Style Split 3rd-Row Seats with Strikers and Bolts, Steel and Black Copy that and paste in Amazon. It is the same item on ebay, it is made for the Tahoe 3rd bucket seats but can be used for the 3rd row bench.
The kids like to go through the back hatch or the back window mostly was fun for them. But it's the same as the 3rd row jump over the seat. I'm 5'10 and I can fit without shoes on in the 4th row.
