Ive noticed something about these discussions. People shy away from eternal life. If one truly believes in eternal life then what happens on earth will be infinitely worth it. People pretend they need to also explain evil in light of no eternity as if they are unsure. Most of this discussion subtly assumed it wasnt there.
@@DanThemes He also said that we cannot know for sure that Gods plan is ultimately bad and elaborated on that, which in a way is all an elaboration of what he said in the first minute, as you noted. Secondly he made ultra clear that it cannot be indifference. If one takes eternal life seriously the problem of evil isn’t much of a problem.
I genuinely apologize. I'm not actually sure if I was an atheist or a christian when I wrote this. My position is that the answer the Bible gives is that we are so puny and weak that we honestly do not have to right to ask such a question. From my understanding of the book of Job, this is what the answer is. If you disagree or have a different answer, please engage with me on this.
The book of Romans also addresses the problem.. You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and *to make known his power*, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, *in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy*, which he has prepared beforehand for glory. I would say evil is a creaturely need; so as to teach temporal creatures the experience of the wrong and right.
bob polo it was what BROUGHT me to God. What this world used for evil, God ultimately used for good. I wouldn't take my past back and change it. It brought me to God and forever changed my life.
If we take eternal life seriously, the problem of evil goes away. I remember thinking it was silly to think that whoever believes in Christ will have eternal life. Now the divine simplicity of that sorting method seems wiser all the time. We have more than enough to know, and more than enough to doubt.
*GOOD LOVING BLESSINGS !*

If he knows our attention span is "8 seconds," why has it been 20min and the subject hasn't been answered or explained yet lol?
So... I might be an idiot, but did he actually answer the question or just word salad?
Yes, he did, in the first minute of his speech. You didn't make it in that far?

The answer is basically I don't know, but you don't have permission to ask such a question.

Suffering is actually a good thing for those who love God. I can explain better if you like

Why would you have to read from a script for prayer? That should come directly flowing from the heart to your words.
Do you ever pray through the psalms?
You can still write a prayer down from your heart. Unless you are saying prayer is always extemporaneous which is false.
