This is a true oldschool bard. At the beginning his voice is powerful, clear, and tells a story with beauty and intrigue. I would listen to an entire album of this.
The bass addition on this version makes the whole thing just gets it's gravity from that small ever so important rhythm.

For me, this is the definitive version of this. The harmonies are absolutely perfect, spine tingling stuff. How this doesn’t have 10s of millions of views I have no idea.
the only reason why it didn't have millions of views is because it has no video related to the vikings. As if, it is like friends reunion.
the one with 29 million views uses this version and adds nothing but a picture of assassins creed which doesnt even use this song
This song inspired me while listening to it a few times (okay, many times). Just felt it needed..more lines? This will probably never be seen and thats fine. I enjoyed writing them :)

@@Sindraug25 I don't think Uthred is a very good Viking. When do we ever see him pray to the Gods or celebrate a Blot? And all that fighting for Christians irritates me. It's people like him that are responsible for the decline of our real Gods in Europe. No offense intended.

My family is of Norse descent and my mother adorned me with the hammer of Thor, which I have not taken off ever. We celebrate the original Norse Blots, we offer up to our beloved Gods, complete with make up and leaves in our hair. We despise Christians and their original sin, and everything they took from us. We congregate with other Europeans that follow the old ways. We have music festivals and many other events where we celebrate our religion. SO, when we see a guy like Uthred, who (apparently) is not a Christian because of his Danish upbringing etc. and who is living in that time, we find him seriously, I mean SERIOUSLY lacking. In following his tradition and in his whole attitude. No Norseman or Dane would be so Christian minded. But anyway. It's a nice show. But I like Vikings better.
