    Ive been doing this a while and its good to see you are confirming I'm doing it right. I got a little tofu press from the big A which works ok a makes a square block and get about 330g for 4 pints of whole milk. The milk cost around £2 and I know Tesco sell 200g Paneer for £2, so worth while. Id love to get hold of some Buffalo milk!

      Awesome! You’re a pro!!
      I’ve not seen buffalo milk here. But milk from a farm is so rich and creamy and works really well!

    How do you freeze it and for how long?

    • @MilhaanHome
      @MilhaanHome  Рік тому

      Freeze it as a solid block (before cutting it) wrapped in an airtight bag. It will last 5-6 months! Defrost at room temperature before cutting and cooking 😊

      If you make this with soy milk, it will be tofu! Try it using the same process.

    Thank you for this recipe. I tried another but it was very crumbly and almost totally fell apart when I put it into matar paneer. I'm going to try this one. I'm also going to check your site to see if you have a recipe for matar paneer :-)

    Lovely recipe of homemade Paneer. I’m sure it tastes 10 times better than the shop bought. I’ve never tried this making at home but went through the “curds and whey” process to make my Ras Malai long time ago.😍

    • @MilhaanHome
      @MilhaanHome  2 роки тому +1

      Yes it definitely is so much better than store bought! I use this same method for ras malai too! I’m going to do a video on that soon!

    2 problems I found with this recipe
    1- the curdle chuncks were not as big as yours were very very small (pasturized whole fat milk used -neither ultra nor raw)
    2- the cheese size I got was quarter of your hand (I used 1 L of milk) so it is cheaper to buy the cheese

    • @MilhaanHome
      @MilhaanHome  Рік тому +2

      Interesting! Maybe you needed a little more vinegar than I used to make sure the milk separated fully- then the curdled chunk will be bigger. And you’d have more cheese. It should have tasted good though! And the texture should have been better than store bought?

    I can't believe you pour out all of that good whey. It's great to drink and very healthy for you.

    • @MilhaanHome
      @MilhaanHome  Рік тому +1

      Yes I do. But it’s always at the back of my mind that it’s full of protein! I think it’s because theirs vinegar in it that I think I can’t drink it 😊 I’ll taste it next time!

      We are the only animal, that keep drinking milk not from our mother. The casein’s is the protein of the milk n the lactose is the sugar. Both of them are very inflammatory for humans body. Just a reflection on healthy spectrum…
