@Royce King I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
He did fight pinwheel solo, and semi blind. He hits pretty hard if you don't know what you're doing, and don't bring the NPC that solos pinwheel on his own
JJ Jamison I mean I get that - I died to Moonlight Butterfly on my first playthrough because I didn’t know what I was doing. I’ve just seen the vast majority, including myself, solo Pinwheel with no difficulty. More a rare occurrence to see rather than an actual issue.
This is why I love adum, he can put together an articulate 2 hour video essay one day, then scream at the same trap in darks souls killing him over and over the next
dude, you're at least challenging yourself. I love Adum but he outlevelled nearly every single boss and he still had trouble with a lot of them. You got gud.
Happened in some speedruns as well. Which is much better since you fight him sort of late and you pretty much oneshot him unless you miss, very unfun thing to lose a run to.
Frampt’s design is actually reminiscent of a lot of medieval depictions of satan in serpent form; especially wood carvings. There’s a carving in Bruges, Belgium that looks exactly like him and Kathe
I'm loving the message-type of updates given from stream chat - I'd love to see that style more often to be perfectly honest. The MSN sound just gives a pretty nice nostalgic kick
I kinda like seeing it being played like that, with guidance, it's different from some other playthroughs i watched. and i understand, some games i play with a guide and I had a great time like that; sometimes i wouldnt have the energy otherwise. In some cases, it's either that or just not having the patience to play a game, and if you enjoyed it then it's all worth it. I've been loving the series!
If he needs a guide to enjoy it I'd rather he play with a guide. Souls can be miserable. I almost always play with a guide at some point to at least help me figure out what to do when I get lost.
@@FrogeFella same, i only died to them once, however, ik a lot of players were stuck in that part. Dark Souls is the kinda of game where one person finds something really hard while others may have thought it was a breeze.
Obviously this is like a month old etc but... You don't NEED the lantern for the Tomb of the Giants. It'll be tough, but you can do it by slowly advancing and watching your footing. Im sure he clears it eventually anyway but yeah,
People don't like when adum has chat assist, but tbh, having a coach through a game like this is blessing and I feel like it's nice to have such an involved chat, rather than a bunch of people watching him fail and not enjoy it. I did the same thing for monster hunter, I'm a casual player so the only way I could enjoy the game was a friend basically telling me what to do for the first section of the game until I got the hang of it. He still helps me, too, and it made it easier for me to appriciate the game better as a casual. These kinds of games are so involved, like I just wanna play it on a basic level, not be an expert lmao. This studio has unforgiving games, too, a walkthrough is a must for adum
Adum's insistence on keeping his shield up at all times is KILLING ME (and him) I hope he makes the connection between stamina regen and shield up/down in one of these upcoming episodes.
after playing this game for about 200+ hours, I never knew the lightning lizard guys in Sen's Fortress could bite you and slam you down like that... thanks for the new intel Adum!
You shouldn't even be going to the tomb of the giants right now. The necromancer dying was a blessing in disguise. You can't get to Nito yet because you don't have the lordvessel, and getting out of the tomb of the giants manually is extremely difficult if you've never been there before.
Why did chat lie to him? The lantern isnt a 100% drop, not even if you kill all Nekros. You can do the next area just fine in the dark, the lantern in there is like three slides in
They did not lie, they do believe that Is a 100% drop, this Is the point where i began to involve more with chat to prevent them from giving wrong info to Adum since nowbody really seems ti know the gane as well as me. Can't blame them tho.
@@bubbafontleroy it is quite literally just three enemies to yhe bonfire, then he gets the lamp. Its almost like chat is undermining their own entertainment at this point, by giving him misinformation so he can come back with something that ignores the mechanics of the area

Hey Adam, what you could do is get the Ivory Catalyst or some other wand and buy the light spell to do Tomb of Giants. I would say it's actually easier with the spell
I mean there is another lantern iirc, Patches leads you to it a little ways into the Tomb of Giants; but there isn’t much point going there at this point in the game anyways.
Adum, you're not even suppose to be in the catacombs in the first place. You should go to Ornstein and Smough and after it, you can go to the catacombs. And there's also two types of "lanterns" in the game. One is regular lantern, another one is a helmet that create light that you can gain a little after you defeat Bed of Chaos.
fucking necromancer glitches out of bounds so easily. i lost my chance at the lantern because i killed him next to a wall he decided to clip into about a meter above ground level. meaning it was impossible to pick up because it wasnt on the floor. another time the fucker randomly decided walk backwards off a cliff.
Shields in DS1 help a lot until you learn how to time rolls, and you kind of have to play passive unless you know the layout of the levels really well. Once you git gud it's easier to just run past everything and roll with good timing.

Something thats nice is that Adum genuinley sounds like he's enjoying this game
This feels like the first time Adum’s getting the Dark Souls experience.
It is, he’s never been this far in the game in his various previous attempts
Frampt’s design is actually reminiscent of a lot of medieval depictions of satan in serpent form; especially wood carvings. There’s a carving in Bruges, Belgium that looks exactly like him and Kathe
It’s probably a good thing that he lost the Skull Lantern, going to Tomb of Giants early is an easy death trap.
he can always get the sunlight maggot, that'll be easy with chats help
Yup, especially since it would be a pointless trip since Nito ain't even available until you get the Lordvessel
You can still get it very early in the area anyways it's fine

This serves as an example on how not to play these games, shield over-use and being passive actually makes the game a lot more difficult.
Shields in DS1 help a lot until you learn how to time rolls, and you kind of have to play passive unless you know the layout of the levels really well. Once you git gud it's easier to just run past everything and roll with good timing.
Shields are fine. New players just tend to never let go of L1, even when they’re not in combat.
You can very easily get a better light source (sunlight maggot) in a different area, just do the tomb of the giants later
ive never gotten the skull lantern that way btw, you can get another one in the dark area if you trek a bit
