Here is a hint. If you listen to the nightly 18 wpm bulletins on W1AW, some long words eventually become real easy to pick out like "METERS" and "FOLLOWS". Joe was a great guest and this was an excellent episode, and great topic. Thanks

Thank you Joe. And I think I'll try those W1AW files like you said. I do have a hard time head copying long words. This will be a great exercise to push myself.

Great information. I feel like I *need* to learn CW, and I'm thinking about getting into the classes.

It might be the way to go, Lionel. At least give it a try and see if classes work for you. Some people do better learning on their own some don't. But why not at least try. Plus, you can't beat the tuition price 😉!

@@RedSummitRF actually i joined LONG ISLAND CW CLUB, took couple of classes as well, very nice experience and good people over there as well, unfortunately i wasnt able to cope up with the timings, almost 12hrs of time difference was there, then I started learning on my own, now Im more or less able to do Rubber Stamp QSOs but very difficult to Ragchew, what im facing is instant recognition of a character, if there's enough space than its ok...secondly is Head copy, for that i guess who has a good short term memory can do that, otherwise its too difficult....now I know the sound of CQ, DX, RST, TNX FER CALL, BT, QTH, OP, HW?, 73 TU,EE.....and few more, so basically that's what i ve reached so far in a year or so..... sorry for a long comment, thought to share my experience.TNX 73s
