I just re-watched this. After 30 something years, I am still totally fascinated by Raven. What an amazing portrayal of one of the finest characters ever created. I remember so well when vulnerable Raven would briefly show up. It was so insightful. I never hated Raven as I was so enthralled with her, I was literally rooting for whatever scheme she was trying to accomplish so seeing her find happiness was fantastic. I understand how happiness and marriage can change things on a soap but they kept Raven front and center and I never lost interest........and of course, your happiness led to your favorite storyline - Jefferson Brown which was excellent.................and the real Skyler story actually had me heartbroken for Raven. The scenes about the fur coats and falling asleep on his bed - incredible.
Oh wow, how did I miss this great interview. I really enjoyed this. Thank you, Sharon, and the difference between who you really are and Raven really comes out as you speak about your real life. I love the clip of you meeting with Frances Fisher at an outside place. And then Frances is with you singing with your band. Cool.
I love The Edge Of Night, sadly I didn't get to watch it as a kid, I can't remember who mentioned it to me, I watched some of it on reruns on the USA Network, and I liked it, I love being able to watch what I can of it now, on UA-cam. I think you do an incredible job as Raven, I love watching to see how long and as far Raven gets away with her scheming. I have always wondered though what is the trick or method, that actor or actresses use to cry on these shows. I'm near the end of 1980 now watching. I feel like Edge is a show that could work very well today in primetime.
Thank you. I loved playing Raven so much. EDGE was a fabulous show to work on and it broke my heart when they canceled it. Most of us had to "work up" our emotions to cry for the taping. If the scene was written well, the tears came easily. If a scene began with crying, some actors would put in eye drops to get started.
I do have 4 or 5 songs we recorded plus some live tapes. Never released them though. I may put them on SoundCloud and post on my FB page at some point. Rock wasn't really my thing, I was a musical comedy/cabaret singer, but we sure had fun.

Thank you Alex. You are so sweet.

She was Melinda Cramer on One Life to Live as well! She will always be Raven to me!
RAVEN was the BEST!!!
This is really cool, thanks for sharing this Sharon (I almost said Raven)!

I have always loved Sharon on the Edge of Night. Such a beautiful woman
It has been awhile since I saw this interview. Are there any recordings &/or videos from this band?
