    As an Indonesian , we never call our place as Malayan Archipelago.
    We call it "Nusantara"
    Nusa : Islands
    Antara : in between
    Soon our new capital in Kalimantan (known by Western as Borneo) is named Nusantara city

      Malay Archipelago itu judul bukunya si Wallace, terserah dia (Wallace) mau kasih nama judul apa di bukunya, toh dia yang tulis.
      'The Malay Archipelago adalah sebuah buku yang ditulis oleh seorang naturalis berkebangsaan Inggris, Alfred Russel Wallace yang berisikan petualangan keilmuannya, selama 8 tahun penjelajahannya di bumi Nusantara'. Sumber : Wikipedia.

      Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence... what a broad general slander. How do you know better?

    • @DavidPhillips-rl2fb
      @DavidPhillips-rl2fb 9 місяців тому +2

      OK, here are the errors I observed in the first ten minutes…
      At 2m 55s: The narrator says that Wallace noted that on one side of the line were mammals and on the other side there were large reptiles. Agreed the line generally separates the placental mammals on one side from marsupials on the other, although this is not true in every case; but there are large reptiles (crocodiles, monitors etc.) on both sides of the Wallace line.
      At 4m 48s: The narrator says the answer to the species question came to Wallace on 1855. This is incorrect, it was in 1858, whilst on the island of Halmahera, that the idea came to Wallace.
      At 6m 37s: Darwin’s book is referred to as “On the Evolution of Species” when it was “On the Origin of Species”
      At 7m 54s: The narrator says that "we may never know" whether Darwin published the Origin of Species s a result of Wallace’s letter. On the contrary, we do know and and it is very well documented. There are letters between Darwin and his friend Charles Lyell about Wallace's idea and how he (Darwin) should react.
      You ask how I know better; it is simply that I have read much by and about both men.

      @DavidPhillips-rl2fb Also your claim about 1858 vs 1855 on solving the mystery. Maybe he solved it in 1855, but published his findings in 1858 - once again, very anal.

    At 60metres using a 1 x aluminium 11 cu ft tank per diver? You might as well turn straight back and head for the surface - doesn't matter what gas mix you are breathing... this makes no sense safety-wise... they should be on normoxic trimix minimum, maybe trimix and be carrying bailout... with staged bailout too

      Yet, they did it... survived, took samples, did safety stops. Maybe, just maybe, they knew what they were doing? They did mention they used a special gas mix.

    How can intellegent inquiring minds consider evolution as a viable idea?

    • @Tipi_Dan
      @Tipi_Dan 2 роки тому +4

      Because of the vast accumulated body scientific and empirical evidence that supports it. And that in addition to the fact that it was theory that really made sense from the first moment it was proposed.

    • @johndoe5061
      @johndoe5061 9 місяців тому +1

      Um, probably because they actually look at the evidence and use science to investigate, rather than just believing old unsubstantiated claims that fail every scrutinisation.
