Here’s a tip for anyone that has a prox19, if your sprayer is trying to pump but wont prime and the button on the front isn’t helping, give that bolt on the front of the pickup a tap or two with a hammer. Idk why but it works lol
In the video it was mentioned that there would be a link to a guide showing how to select the right tip. I followed both links and neither one was to a guide for selecting the right tip.
Hey guys! Thank you for your videos! I’m going to be spraying all of my interior walls and ceilings with Sherwin Willams duration using the prox19. It comes stock with a 515 tip and 50’ 1/4” hose and SG3 gun. Is this the right setup and tip for my job? Should I plan to backroll it? Thank you!!! 😊
Great question!
The 515 will get the job done! If you can, we recommend using the FFLP tips. These just work a lot nicer and deliver a better finish. With regards to backrolling, it depends on if you want a spray finish or not. My opinion is spray finish looks better, but a rolled finish is much easier to do patch repairs on. hope this helps!!
Hello I Have Graco pro ×19. yesterday after I was done spraying during cleaning my Pump wouldn't prime nir build pressure to the spray gun. I have power flushed , pushed prime liquid through suction tube. Nothing helped. Can you help?

Usually in this case it can be a simple matter of a stuck ball! I would recommend priming the unit with water and while the unit is priming, pressing the small button on the front about 3-5 times. This usually gets the flow going again and you should see water coming from your drain tube.
Hi All! Thanks for the great video. A question if you have a moment: I want to use semi-transparent acrylic/oil stain with a Magnum X5 Electric TrueAirless Sprayer to stain a cedar shadow-box fence. Which size sprayer tip do you recommend? (I am thinking of using a 413 sprayer tip.) Also, do I use water or mineral spirits to clean up the Graco after I am done? Thanks! Cheers, Don
Thanks for your comment! The clean up will depend on the base of the material - I would recommend chatting to the supplier of the acrylic/oil stain, or refer to the technical data sheet which will refer to the correct material to clean equipment with. As for tip, it really depends on finish, and how many coats you want to spray. The FFLP412 is a great tip, or TrueAirless 413 like you've referred to. Hope this helps!

Great question mate! The basic principles apply to pretty much all Graco airless sprayers, especially the DIY Magnum range.
I think Jacob mentions it, but the model we used in this video is the Graco ProX19!

What tip do I need to spray my wooden deck with stain and can I use green and black and the Magnum X5
Hey Kevin, great question! You can can definitely use both the green and black tips on the X5. For spraying stain on your deck I would recommend using the using something like the FFLP310.

I just bought the magnum x7 does the tip that comes with it ok for spraying base boards
Sure is! The TrueAirless 515 will give you a 10" fan, 15 thou tip which is perfect for interior and exterior paints. If you're finding the 15 thou is putting on the paint a bit thick, try moving faster, or perhaps look at a TrueAirless 413, or 313 tip to reduce that paint output! Hope this helps :)

@@DavesWoodFloors No worries! Other option is to pick up a Rac X Tip Guard, or purchase a tip extension that comes with a Rac X tip guard. Have a look at the Fine Finish Low Pressure spray tip range - the FFLP312 and FFLP414 are good tips to run for this application. Linked below:

Can you spray stain and sealer with this unit
Do you thin paint for the graco x19?
You don't need to thin the majoirty of paints with the ProX19. You can thin most acrylic and enamel paints up to 5% with water to aid atomisation however, sometimes it can help if you're in extremely cold weather!
Do you roll after you spray the paint on the wall?
Certain substrates require backrolling, and it really depends on the application! If you're spraying weatherboard, fencing etc, I don't think it's entirely necessary. If you're spraying primer on bare gyprock, or for any interior work for that matter, backrolling is best practice. Generally I'd following the code in your local area, or speak to your paint manufacturer to determine what they require to ensure you're abiding to their warranty requirements!

Also frustrating that the instructions included with the machine are not in the order you just demonstrated.
We've made this video to be practical - not always following the direct order as per the manufacturer's manual. Please note this is also for the Australian market; there's a heap of subtle differences in workflow. Thanks for the feedback.
U never mention priming with water first
Hey there, thanks for the comment! There is no need to prime with water first with the Graco Magnum units. As long as you flushed the unit out thoroughly on your previous job or if the unit is new, you will be fine starting with your paint.
